Surah Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya count 88

ص ۚ وَالْقُرْآنِ ذِي الذِّكْرِ ( 1 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 1
S. SAAD. As-Sadiq - Full of Truth, this Qur'an is a Profound Reminder. Embracing all that is worth taking to your hearts, it can give you eminence. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 1
بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي عِزَّةٍ وَشِقَاقٍ ( 2 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 2
But nay, the deniers are lost in false pride and opposition for the sake of opposition. Hence, they split their own personalities forcing themselves into maintaining double standards in life. ('Shiqaq' = Opposition, schism, splitting, split-personality. Double standards; since denial of a reality does not make it disappear). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 2
كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن قَرْنٍ فَنَادَوا وَّلَاتَ حِينَ مَنَاصٍ ( 3 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 3
How many a generation have We (Our Law of Requital) wiped out before them, and they cried out when it was too late to escape. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 3
وَعَجِبُوا أَن جَاءَهُم مُّنذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ ۖ وَقَالَ الْكَافِرُونَ هَٰذَا سَاحِرٌ كَذَّابٌ ( 4 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 4
Now these people wonder that a Warner has come to them from their own midst! And the disbelievers say, "This is a wizard, a liar. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 4
أَجَعَلَ الْآلِهَةَ إِلَٰهًا وَاحِدًا ۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَيْءٌ عُجَابٌ ( 5 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 5
Does he blend all the gods into One God? Behold, this is a thing mind-boggling!" Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 5
وَانطَلَقَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْهُمْ أَنِ امْشُوا وَاصْبِرُوا عَلَىٰ آلِهَتِكُمْ ۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَيْءٌ يُرَادُ ( 6 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 6
Their leaders go about saying, "Walk away and hold on to your gods! This, behold, is the only thing to do. And this (mind-boggling thing) seems to be designed with ulterior motives. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 6
مَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِي الْمِلَّةِ الْآخِرَةِ إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا اخْتِلَاقٌ ( 7 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 7
We have never heard of this in the latest religion. This (concept of One God) is nothing but a made-up tale! (Even the Christians subscribe to a Triune God). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 7
أَأُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ الذِّكْرُ مِن بَيْنِنَا ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِّن ذِكْرِي ۖ بَل لَّمَّا يَذُوقُوا عَذَابِ ( 8 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 8
What! Has the Reminder come down only to him among us?" Nay, in fact, it is My Own Reminder that they distrust (and not you O Prophet). Nay, they have not yet tasted My Requital. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 8
أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّكَ الْعَزِيزِ الْوَهَّابِ ( 9 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 9
Or with them are the treasures of your Lord's Grace? - The Almighty, the Grantor of Gifts. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 9
أَمْ لَهُم مُّلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ فَلْيَرْتَقُوا فِي الْأَسْبَابِ ( 10 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 10
Or is it that theirs is the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them? If so, let them ascend to Supremacy by all means. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 10
جُندٌ مَّا هُنَالِكَ مَهْزُومٌ مِّنَ الْأَحْزَابِ ( 11 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 11
But here it is! Defeated confederates are these, however closely they might band together. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 11
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ ذُو الْأَوْتَادِ ( 12 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 12
And before them denied the Truth, the people of Noah, Aad and Pharaoh of the firm stakes. ('Zil-awtad' could indicate 'the lord of the Pyramids'). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 12
وَثَمُودُ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ الْأَحْزَابُ ( 13 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 13
And Thamud, and the people of Lot, and the dwellers of the Wood-dales (of Midyan). And they were clans strongly banded. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 13
إِن كُلٌّ إِلَّا كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ عِقَابِ ( 14 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 14
All of them accused the Messengers of lying. Hence, My Law justly grasped them. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 14
وَمَا يَنظُرُ هَٰؤُلَاءِ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً مَّا لَهَا مِن فَوَاقٍ ( 15 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 15
Now these people only wait a single Blast from which they recover not. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 15
وَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا عَجِّل لَّنَا قِطَّنَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ ( 16 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 16
And they mock, "Our Lord! Bring for us our sentence before the Day of Account." Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 16
اصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا دَاوُودَ ذَا الْأَيْدِ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ ( 17 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 17
Bear with patience whatever they may say, and remember Our servant David, the man of strength and resources. He always turned unto Us. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 17
إِنَّا سَخَّرْنَا الْجِبَالَ مَعَهُ يُسَبِّحْنَ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالْإِشْرَاقِ ( 18 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 18
Behold, We subdued for him the strong Mountain Tribes that strove along with him night and day. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 18
وَالطَّيْرَ مَحْشُورَةً ۖ كُلٌّ لَّهُ أَوَّابٌ ( 19 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 19
And the nomad riders of the Ta'er Tribe were all obedient to him. (21:79), (27:16), (34:10). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 19
وَشَدَدْنَا مُلْكَهُ وَآتَيْنَاهُ الْحِكْمَةَ وَفَصْلَ الْخِطَابِ ( 20 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 20
We strengthened his Kingdom and gave him wisdom and good judgment. And We endowed him with the ability to make just decisions, and speak eloquently. (17:39), (43:63). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 20
وَهَلْ أَتَاكَ نَبَأُ الْخَصْمِ إِذْ تَسَوَّرُوا الْمِحْرَابَ ( 21 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 21
Have you heard of the story of the two disputing men when they climbed the wall into his private chamber? Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 21
إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَىٰ دَاوُودَ فَفَزِعَ مِنْهُمْ ۖ قَالُوا لَا تَخَفْ ۖ خَصْمَانِ بَغَىٰ بَعْضُنَا عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ فَاحْكُم بَيْنَنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا تُشْطِطْ وَاهْدِنَا إِلَىٰ سَوَاءِ الصِّرَاطِ ( 22 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 22
When they breached his privacy, he was startled. They said, "Be not startled!" We both are disputing with each other as to who has done wrong to the other. Therefore, judge fairly between us, deviate not from equity and guide us to the even path." Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 22
إِنَّ هَٰذَا أَخِي لَهُ تِسْعٌ وَتِسْعُونَ نَعْجَةً وَلِيَ نَعْجَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ فَقَالَ أَكْفِلْنِيهَا وَعَزَّنِي فِي الْخِطَابِ ( 23 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 23
One of them said, "Behold, this my brother has ninety nine farms, whereas I have only one. And yet he says, 'Give it over to me', and he dominates me in eloquence." ('Na'jah' = Ewe = Female sheep or deer = Agricultural farm). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 23
قَالَ لَقَدْ ظَلَمَكَ بِسُؤَالِ نَعْجَتِكَ إِلَىٰ نِعَاجِهِ ۖ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ الْخُلَطَاءِ لَيَبْغِي بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَقَلِيلٌ مَّا هُمْ ۗ وَظَنَّ دَاوُودُ أَنَّمَا فَتَنَّاهُ فَاسْتَغْفَرَ رَبَّهُ وَخَرَّ رَاكِعًا وَأَنَابَ ۩ ( 24 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 24
David said, "He has certainly wronged you in demanding your farm in addition to his farms. Thus, behold, many close associates and business-partners treat each other unfairly - except those who believe in the Divine Values and care for the needs of others - but how few are they!" Afterwards, David wondered that We had tried him. (The feudal and economic system in his kingdom needed reform, as the poor were getting poorer). He implored his Lord to absolve his imperfections, and he immediately bowed himself and turned unto Him for guidance. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 24
فَغَفَرْنَا لَهُ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَإِنَّ لَهُ عِندَنَا لَزُلْفَىٰ وَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ ( 25 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 25
So We absolved his imperfections, and, behold - He remained ever close to Our Laws and his efforts reached a happy destination. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 25
يَا دَاوُودُ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَاكَ خَلِيفَةً فِي الْأَرْضِ فَاحْكُم بَيْنَ النَّاسِ بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا تَتَّبِعِ الْهَوَىٰ فَيُضِلَّكَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَضِلُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ بِمَا نَسُوا يَوْمَ الْحِسَابِ ( 26 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 26
(We said to him), "O David! We have made you a ruler in the earth, therefore, establish the System of justice and equity for people. Never let your judgment be swayed by personal whims causing you to deviate from the Path of Allah. For those who wander from the Path of Allah, is a strict retribution for having forgotten the Day of Account." Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 26
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاءَ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا بَاطِلًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ظَنُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ۚ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنَ النَّارِ ( 27 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 27
(No action goes uncompensated since) We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in vain - without meaning and purpose. Such is the assumption of those who disbelieve. (10:4), (11:7), (45:22), (53:31). Woe from the Fire to those who deny the Truth! Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 27
أَمْ نَجْعَلُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ كَالْمُفْسِدِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَمْ نَجْعَلُ الْمُتَّقِينَ كَالْفُجَّارِ ( 28 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 28
Shall We treat those who believe and augment the society as We treat those who spread corruption in the land? Or shall We treat the guardians of the Law as the Law-breakers? Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 28
كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ ( 29 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 29
This is a Scripture that We have revealed unto you (O Prophet), full of lasting Bliss that they may ponder its Messages and that people of understanding may take them to heart. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 29
وَوَهَبْنَا لِدَاوُودَ سُلَيْمَانَ ۚ نِعْمَ الْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ ( 30 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 30
And unto David We granted Solomon, how excellent a servant! Behold, in every situation He would turn to Divine Laws. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 30
إِذْ عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ بِالْعَشِيِّ الصَّافِنَاتُ الْجِيَادُ ( 31 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 31
In the evenings he used to examine his cavalry of nobly-bred, swift-footed horses. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 31
فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَحْبَبْتُ حُبَّ الْخَيْرِ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّي حَتَّىٰ تَوَارَتْ بِالْحِجَابِ ( 32 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 32
He would say, "Verily, I love my fondness of all that is good because it reminds me of my Lord", as the horses raced away until hidden by the veil of distance. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 32
رُدُّوهَا عَلَيَّ ۖ فَطَفِقَ مَسْحًا بِالسُّوقِ وَالْأَعْنَاقِ ( 33 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 33
"Bring them back unto me!" - and would lovingly stroke their legs and their necks. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 33
وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا سُلَيْمَانَ وَأَلْقَيْنَا عَلَىٰ كُرْسِيِّهِ جَسَدًا ثُمَّ أَنَابَ ( 34 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 34
(That was Solomon and) We indeed tried him, and set upon his throne a mere body, and thereupon he turned to Us. (His son, the crown prince Rehoboam was just a hopeless presence (34:14). Until that point in history, the Kingdom of Israel was inherited among the generations of Prophet Jacob). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 34
قَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَهَبْ لِي مُلْكًا لَّا يَنبَغِي لِأَحَدٍ مِّن بَعْدِي ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْوَهَّابُ ( 35 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 35
Solomon prayed, "O My Lord! Absolve my imperfections and bestow upon me the gift of a kingdom that may not suit anyone after me. Verily, You are the Giver of Gifts." (He did not wish to leave his great kingdom in incompetent hands and in all probability was thinking of merit in preference over lineage). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 35
فَسَخَّرْنَا لَهُ الرِّيحَ تَجْرِي بِأَمْرِهِ رُخَاءً حَيْثُ أَصَابَ ( 36 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 36
So We gave him the science of making the wind serve him and it carried his ships wherever he intended (34:12). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 36
وَالشَّيَاطِينَ كُلَّ بَنَّاءٍ وَغَوَّاصٍ ( 37 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 37
And made subservient to him the wild unruly men - every kind of builder and diver. (21:82), (34:13). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 37
وَآخَرِينَ مُقَرَّنِينَ فِي الْأَصْفَادِ ( 38 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 38
And others linked together in chains of discipline. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 38
هَٰذَا عَطَاؤُنَا فَامْنُنْ أَوْ أَمْسِكْ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ ( 39 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 39
We told him, "All this is Our Gift for you. Give freely or withhold, in matters of the State, according to your best judgment. It is given to you beyond count." Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 39
وَإِنَّ لَهُ عِندَنَا لَزُلْفَىٰ وَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ ( 40 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 40
And, behold - He remained ever close to Our Laws and his efforts always reached a happy destination. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 40
وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا أَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الشَّيْطَانُ بِنُصْبٍ وَعَذَابٍ ( 41 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 41
And remember Our servant Job, when he called upon his Lord, "Behold, the serpent has bitten me and I am in distress and suffering." ('Satan has touched me', as a metonym = Serpent has bitten me. He was left alone from his caravan and family, ran out of the essential supplies, and now this happened (4:163), (6:84), (21:83-84). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 41
ارْكُضْ بِرِجْلِكَ ۖ هَٰذَا مُغْتَسَلٌ بَارِدٌ وَشَرَابٌ ( 42 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 42
(We told him), "Strike the ground with your foot (move a little bit). And here is cool water to wash with and a refreshing drink." Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 42
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ أَهْلَهُ وَمِثْلَهُم مَّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ ( 43 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 43
And We gave him back his family and followers and, in time, doubled their numbers as a Grace from Us. And herein is a reminder for people of understanding (on the virtue of patience). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 43
وَخُذْ بِيَدِكَ ضِغْثًا فَاضْرِب بِّهِ وَلَا تَحْنَثْ ۗ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَاهُ صَابِرًا ۚ نِّعْمَ الْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ ( 44 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 44
(And finally We told him,) "Now gather your strength and travel the land and break not your pledge." Behold, We found him steadfast. How excellent a servant! In every situation he turned to Our Commands. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 44
وَاذْكُرْ عِبَادَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ أُولِي الْأَيْدِي وَالْأَبْصَارِ ( 45 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 45
And also remember Our servants, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of strength and vision. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 45
إِنَّا أَخْلَصْنَاهُم بِخَالِصَةٍ ذِكْرَى الدَّارِ ( 46 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 46
Verily, We endowed them with sincerity of purpose and with exceptional foresight. Hence, in all their efforts they never lost sight of the desired destination. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 46
وَإِنَّهُمْ عِندَنَا لَمِنَ الْمُصْطَفَيْنَ الْأَخْيَارِ ( 47 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 47
Behold, according to Our Standards, they were of the elect, excellent, fulfilling the mental, moral and physical needs of humanity. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 47
وَاذْكُرْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَالْيَسَعَ وَذَا الْكِفْلِ ۖ وَكُلٌّ مِّنَ الْأَخْيَارِ ( 48 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 48
Also mention Ishmael, Al-Yasa' (Elisha), and Zal-Kifl (Ezekiel). For, all of them were men of quality, fulfilling the mental, moral and physical needs of humanity. ('Akhiar' includes all this and more). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 48
هَٰذَا ذِكْرٌ ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ لَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ ( 49 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 49
Let this be a Reminder - for, verily, there is a most beautiful destination for those who journey through life honorably. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 49
جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ مُّفَتَّحَةً لَّهُمُ الْأَبْوَابُ ( 50 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 50
Gardens of Eden, the perpetual Bliss, with gates wide-open for them. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 50
مُتَّكِئِينَ فِيهَا يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ وَشَرَابٍ ( 51 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 51
Relaxing therein, they will be hosted with all kinds of food and drink. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 51
وَعِندَهُمْ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ أَتْرَابٌ ( 52 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 52
And with them are well-matched companions of modest gaze. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 52
هَٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِيَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ ( 53 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 53
This is what you are promised for the Day of Account. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 53
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَرِزْقُنَا مَا لَهُ مِن نَّفَادٍ ( 54 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 54
This, verily, is Our Giving with no end to it. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 54
هَٰذَا ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلطَّاغِينَ لَشَرَّ مَآبٍ ( 55 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 55
Yes, this is so. But, for those who kept trespassing the Moral Values, is a destination with no good in it. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 55
جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَهَا فَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ ( 56 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 56
Hell that is! Wherein they burn - the worst bed to lie on! Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 56
هَٰذَا فَلْيَذُوقُوهُ حَمِيمٌ وَغَسَّاقٌ ( 57 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 57
This, then, - so let them taste it - the drink of burning distress and ice-cold wind. (Distress they caused others and insensitivity they showed toward oppression and injustice (78:25)). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 57
وَآخَرُ مِن شَكْلِهِ أَزْوَاجٌ ( 58 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 58
And other penalties in pairs (heat-cold, glare-darkness, noise-isolation, anxiety-depression, desire-hopelessness, etc.) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 58
هَٰذَا فَوْجٌ مُّقْتَحِمٌ مَّعَكُمْ ۖ لَا مَرْحَبًا بِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ صَالُو النَّارِ ( 59 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 59
It will be said to the ringleaders, "Here is your group going with you headlong. There is no welcome for them, for only the Fire is here to embrace them." Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 59
قَالُوا بَلْ أَنتُمْ لَا مَرْحَبًا بِكُمْ ۖ أَنتُمْ قَدَّمْتُمُوهُ لَنَا ۖ فَبِئْسَ الْقَرَارُ ( 60 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 60
The followers will say to the leaders, "Nay, but you! There is no welcome for you either! It is you who sent this forth for us! What a station of plight!" (14:21), (33:67), (34:32), (37:29), (40:47). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 60
قَالُوا رَبَّنَا مَن قَدَّمَ لَنَا هَٰذَا فَزِدْهُ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا فِي النَّارِ ( 61 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 61
Then the followers will say, "Our Lord! Whoever has sent this forth for us, oh, double for him the suffering in Fire." Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 61
وَقَالُوا مَا لَنَا لَا نَرَىٰ رِجَالًا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُم مِّنَ الْأَشْرَارِ ( 62 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 62
Then they will exclaim to one another, "What is amiss with us? We do not see people whom we counted among evil! Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 62
أَتَّخَذْنَاهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا أَمْ زَاغَتْ عَنْهُمُ الْأَبْصَارُ ( 63 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 63
Whom we used to ridicule. (Are they not here) or is it that our eyes are missing them?" Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 63
إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَحَقٌّ تَخَاصُمُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ ( 64 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 64
Such, behold, will in truth be the argumentation of people of the Fire! Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 64
قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا مُنذِرٌ ۖ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ ( 65 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 65
Say, "I am only a Warner, and there is no god but Allah, the One, the Irresistible. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 65
رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفَّارُ ( 66 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 66
Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them - Exalted in Might, Ever-Forgiving." Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 66
قُلْ هُوَ نَبَأٌ عَظِيمٌ ( 67 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 67
Say, "That is a Tremendous News. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 67
أَنتُمْ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضُونَ ( 68 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 68
From which you turn away!" Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 68
مَا كَانَ لِيَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ بِالْمَلَإِ الْأَعْلَىٰ إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ ( 69 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 69
Say! "I had no knowledge of the top leaders of the past, and of their disputations. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 69
إِن يُوحَىٰ إِلَيَّ إِلَّا أَنَّمَا أَنَا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ ( 70 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 70
It is revealed unto me only that I am a plain Warner." (To give warning plainly and publicly). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 70
إِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ إِنِّي خَالِقٌ بَشَرًا مِّن طِينٍ ( 71 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 71
(The disputations began ever since mankind came into being.) When your Lord said to the angels, "Behold, I am about to create a human being out of clay. (Angels = Laws in the Universe (15:26-41)). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 71
فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِي فَقَعُوا لَهُ سَاجِدِينَ ( 72 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 72
And when I have designed him, and breathed into him from My Energy (from the Attribute of Free Will) then be submissive to him." Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 72
فَسَجَدَ الْمَلَائِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ ( 73 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 73
Thereupon the angels agreed to be submissive before him, all of them together. ('Sajdah' = Literally, prostration, is due to Allah alone, hence, the allegorical meaning here). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 73
إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ اسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ ( 74 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 74
Except Iblis - he acted arrogantly and denied the Command. (Iblis = Satan = selfish desire of the humans (2:34)). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 74
قَالَ يَا إِبْلِيسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَن تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَيَّ ۖ أَسْتَكْبَرْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ الْعَالِينَ ( 75 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 75
Said He, "O Iblis! What has kept you from being submissive to that which I have created with My Hands? Are you too proud or are you of the rebellious?" Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 75
قَالَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ ۖ خَلَقْتَنِي مِن نَّارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُ مِن طِينٍ ( 76 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 76
Iblis replied, "I am better than he. You created me of fire while you created him of clay." (Emotions are fiery in relation to the cool 'clay' of higher controls). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 76
قَالَ فَاخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌ ( 77 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 77
Said He, "Go forth from here, for, behold, you are condemned. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 77
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ لَعْنَتِي إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ ( 78 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 78
And My rejection is on you until the Day of Judgment." Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 78
قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِي إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ ( 79 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 79
Iblis said, "Then, My Lord! Give me respite till the Day when they are raised." Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 79
قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنظَرِينَ ( 80 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 80
Answered He, "Verily so, you shall be among those who are given respite. (15:36-38). Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 80
إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُومِ ( 81 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 81
Until the Day of Appointed Time." Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 81
قَالَ فَبِعِزَّتِكَ لَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ( 82 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 82
Iblis said, "I swear by Your Honor, I will certainly lead them all astray. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 82
إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِينَ ( 83 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 83
But such of them as are Your sincere servants." Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 83
قَالَ فَالْحَقُّ وَالْحَقَّ أَقُولُ ( 84 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 84
Said He, "The Truth is this - and this Truth do I state: Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 84
لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكَ وَمِمَّن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ( 85 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 85
That certainly I will fill Hell with you and with such of them as follow you, together." Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 85
قُلْ مَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُتَكَلِّفِينَ ( 86 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 86
(O Messenger) say to them, "I ask of you no reward for this Message, nor am I a pretender. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 86
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَالَمِينَ ( 87 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 87
This (Qur'an), behold, is no less than a Reminder to the Worlds. Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 87
وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ نَبَأَهُ بَعْدَ حِينٍ ( 88 ) Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 88
And you will most certainly know the Truth of it all after a lapse of time." Sad ( The Letter Sad ) - Aya 88
