أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَابِ الْفِيلِ ( 1 ) Al-Fil ( The Elephant ) - Aya 1
Are you not aware of how your Lord dealt with the Army of the Elephant? Al-Fil ( The Elephant ) - Aya 1
أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَضْلِيلٍ ( 2 ) Al-Fil ( The Elephant ) - Aya 2
Did He not bring their strategy to utter failure? Al-Fil ( The Elephant ) - Aya 2
وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ ( 3 ) Al-Fil ( The Elephant ) - Aya 3
And sent upon them swarms of flying creatures. Al-Fil ( The Elephant ) - Aya 3
تَرْمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٍ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ ( 4 ) Al-Fil ( The Elephant ) - Aya 4
Then you showered them with hard stones earmarked with requital. ('Sijjil' = Inscribed = Marked out). Al-Fil ( The Elephant ) - Aya 4
فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَّأْكُولٍ ( 5 ) Al-Fil ( The Elephant ) - Aya 5
And made them like a field of grain eaten down to stubble. Al-Fil ( The Elephant ) - Aya 5
