وَالْفَجْرِ ( 1 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 1
Witness is the Daybreak. Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 1
وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ ( 2 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 2
And ten Nights. Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 2
وَالشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ ( 3 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 3
And the Even and the Odd. Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 3
وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ ( 4 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 4
And Witness to the Truth is the departing of the Night of Ignorance. Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 4
هَلْ فِي ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٌ لِّذِي حِجْرٍ ( 5 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 5
Is not all this a solemn evidence for every thinking person? Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 5
أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ ( 6 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 6
Have you noted how your Lord dealt with Aad? (They had refused to see the Light (7:65-72)). Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 6
إِرَمَ ذَاتِ الْعِمَادِ ( 7 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 7
Those whose capital was Iram, the city of towers and lofty mansions. Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 7
الَّتِي لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِي الْبِلَادِ ( 8 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 8
The like of which (the towers and castles) were never built in other cities. (26:128-134). Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 8
وَثَمُودَ الَّذِينَ جَابُوا الصَّخْرَ بِالْوَادِ ( 9 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 9
And with Thamud, who slashed out for dwellings rocks in the valley. (Wadi-al-Qura. (7:74), (15:82)). Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 9
وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِي الْأَوْتَادِ ( 10 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 10
And with the powerful Pharaoh of the great Pyramids. Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 10
الَّذِينَ طَغَوْا فِي الْبِلَادِ ( 11 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 11
They all played God in the land, towns and cities. Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 11
فَأَكْثَرُوا فِيهَا الْفَسَادَ ( 12 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 12
And increased corruption and crime therein. Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 12
فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ ( 13 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 13
And so, your Lord chastised them with a whipping punishment. Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 13
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِالْمِرْصَادِ ( 14 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 14
Behold, your Lord is ever on the watch! Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 14
فَأَمَّا الْإِنسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَكْرَمَنِ ( 15 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 15
But as for man, whenever his Lord lets his life take a turn by giving him honor and Bliss, he says, "My Lord has honored me." (Honor or disgrace are subject to Divine Laws, and are not random phenomena). Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 15
وَأَمَّا إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَهَانَنِ ( 16 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 16
But when He lets his life take a turn by restricting his provision, he says, "My Lord has disgraced me." Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 16
كَلَّا ۖ بَل لَّا تُكْرِمُونَ الْيَتِيمَ ( 17 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 17
Nay, nay, you honor not the orphan. (You forget to analyze what you do and what you do not do. 'Yatim' = Orphan= Widow = Solitary = Left alone in the society = The helpless. A benevolent society makes room for the 'Yatim'). Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 17
وَلَا تَحَاضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ ( 18 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 18
And you do not encourage one another to feed the needy. ('Miskin' = Poor = Needy = Whose life is stranded for any reason = Whose business has stalled = Who has lost his job = Whose life has been hampered by circumstances. 'Ta'm' = Feeding, includes taking care of all aspects of life. A benevolent collective order takes care of everyone). Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 18
وَتَأْكُلُونَ التُّرَاثَ أَكْلًا لَّمًّا ( 19 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 19
And you devour the inheritances with greed. Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 19
وَتُحِبُّونَ الْمَالَ حُبًّا جَمًّا ( 20 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 20
And you love wealth with boundless love. Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 20
كَلَّا إِذَا دُكَّتِ الْأَرْضُ دَكًّا دَكًّا ( 21 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 21
Nay, when the earth is pounded, ground with a grinding. Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 21
وَجَاءَ رَبُّكَ وَالْمَلَكُ صَفًّا صَفًّا ( 22 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 22
And your Lord comes, and His angels, rank upon rank. (A great Revolution will come and the Divine System will be established. The Universal forces will line up to that end). Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 22
وَجِيءَ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِجَهَنَّمَ ۚ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنسَانُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ الذِّكْرَىٰ ( 23 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 23
And Hell is brought close that Day. On that Day man will heed the Advisory, but of what avail will then be the remembrance? Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 23
يَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِي ( 24 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 24
He will say, "Ah, I wish I had sent forth some good for my life!" Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 24
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُ أَحَدٌ ( 25 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 25
For, none chastises as He will chastise on that Day. Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 25
وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُ أَحَدٌ ( 26 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 26
And none binds as He binds. (The logical result of disregarding the Creator's Guidance is getting bound by shackles of mental slavery (7:157)). Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 26
يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ ( 27 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 27
But Oh! You human being that has attained inner peace! (By living upright (13:28), (91:9)). Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 27
ارْجِعِي إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً ( 28 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 28
Return unto your Lord, pleased and Approved. Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 28
فَادْخُلِي فِي عِبَادِي ( 29 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 29
Enter, then, together with My servants - Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 29
وَادْخُلِي جَنَّتِي ( 30 ) Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 30
Yes, enter you My Paradise! (9:119). Al-Fajr ( The Dawn ) - Aya 30
