الرَّحْمَٰنُ ( 1 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 1
Ar-Rahman, the Beneficent, the Instant Source of all Mercy and Kindness. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 1
عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ ( 2 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 2
He it is Who has made known and taught the Qur'an. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 2
خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ ( 3 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 3
He has created the human being. (And taken care of his mental and physical needs). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 3
عَلَّمَهُ الْبَيَانَ ( 4 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 4
He has distinguished him with the ability to clearly express his feelings and thoughts . Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 4
الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ ( 5 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 5
The sun and the moon run by a mathematical design. (Such are the changeless Laws given in this Book). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 5
وَالنَّجْمُ وَالشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ ( 6 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 6
The stars and the trees all adore Him (and follow His Laws). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 6
وَالسَّمَاءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الْمِيزَانَ ( 7 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 7
And the sky has He raised high and has kept perfect balance in the Universe. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 7
أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا فِي الْمِيزَانِ ( 8 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 8
So that you, too, never violate balance in your lives. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 8
وَأَقِيمُوا الْوَزْنَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا الْمِيزَانَ ( 9 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 9
Therefore, establish Balance in the society in absolute justice. And never belittle the Scale of Justice in the community and in all your transactions with your own 'Self' and with others. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 9
وَالْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ ( 10 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 10
And (know that) the earth He has spread out for all His creatures. ('Anam' = All living beings). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 10
فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَالنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ الْأَكْمَامِ ( 11 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 11
Wherein are fruit and palms with clusters protected in sheaths. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 11
وَالْحَبُّ ذُو الْعَصْفِ وَالرَّيْحَانُ ( 12 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 12
And grain, corn, leaves, stalks, colorful herbs, vegetables, spices, sweet-smelling plants and fragrant flowers. (The three Arabic terms used in this verse include all the meanings rendered). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 12
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 13 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 13
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 13
خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ مِن صَلْصَالٍ كَالْفَخَّارِ ( 14 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 14
He created the human out of inorganic matter that sounded like an empty pot. (And it was empty of a trace of the finished form). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 14
وَخَلَقَ الْجَانَّ مِن مَّارِجٍ مِّن نَّارٍ ( 15 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 15
And the Jinns (nomads) He has created from a confused flame of fire (with a confused fiery disposition). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 15
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 16 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 16
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 16
رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ الْمَغْرِبَيْنِ ( 17 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 17
Lord of the two Easts and the two Wests. (The East and the West of the summer, and the East and the West of the winter). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 17
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 18 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 18
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 18
مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ ( 19 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 19
He has let free the two seas. They meet. (25:53). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 19
بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيَانِ ( 20 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 20
Yet, there is a Barrier between them that they cannot exceed. (The great bodies of salt water and fresh water). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 20
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 21 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 21
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 21
يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا اللُّؤْلُؤُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ ( 22 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 22
From both of them come forth pearl and coral. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 22
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 23 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 23
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 23
وَلَهُ الْجَوَارِ الْمُنشَآتُ فِي الْبَحْرِ كَالْأَعْلَامِ ( 24 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 24
And His are the bannered ships sailing through the sea lofty like mountains. (All creativity and invention of human beings issues forth from His gifts of mind and body. So all man-made things belong to Him). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 24
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 25 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 25
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 25
كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ ( 26 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 26
All things thereon (in the Universe) are ever changing. ('Fani' = Ever-changing = Mortal). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 26
وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ ( 27 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 27
But forever is Changeless the 'Self' of your Lord, the Lord of Majesty and Honor. ('Baqi' = Remaining = Eternal = Survivor = Remainder = Changeless. 'Wajh' = Face = Countenance = Self = Whole being = Personality (28:88)). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 27
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 28 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 28
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 28
يَسْأَلُهُ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأْنٍ ( 29 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 29
All creatures in the heavens and the earth seek their needs from Him. And every day is He in a Marvelous Splendor. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 29
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 30 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 30
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 30
سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ الثَّقَلَانِ ( 31 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 31
Soon shall We lighten your burdens, O Burdened men and women! Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 31
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 32 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 32
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 32
يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَن تَنفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطَارِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ فَانفُذُوا ۚ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَانٍ ( 33 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 33
O Communities of the rural and the urban! If you can break through the 'fences' of the heavens and the earth, then break through. Never can you break through without an Authority. Can you bring an evidence? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 33
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 34 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 34
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 34
يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِّن نَّارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ ( 35 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 35
A blaze will be unleashed upon you - and thick smoke - and you will not be able to defend yourselves. (If you think that you can escape Divine Laws, you will never find your way in the thick smoke of conjecture). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 35
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 36 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 36
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 36
فَإِذَا انشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَالدِّهَانِ ( 37 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 37
And when the high elite will disperse and adapt to a stunning change. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 37
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 38 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 38
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 38
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُسْأَلُ عَن ذَنبِهِ إِنسٌ وَلَا جَانٌّ ( 39 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 39
In that Era neither the urban nor the rural will be asked why they trailed behind. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 39
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 40 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 40
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 40
يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَاهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصِي وَالْأَقْدَامِ ( 41 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 41
The violators of human rights will be clearly identified, firmly seized and held accountable. ('Mujrim' = Guilty = One who steals the fruit of others' labor = Violator of human rights). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 41
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 42 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 42
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 42
هَٰذِهِ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِي يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ ( 43 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 43
This is Hell which the guilty deny. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 43
يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ آنٍ ( 44 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 44
They wander between it and their smoldering anguish. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 44
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 45 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 45
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 45
وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتَانِ ( 46 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 46
And for him who stands in fear of his Lord's Presence, are two Paradises - one here one there. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 46
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 47 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 47
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 47
ذَوَاتَا أَفْنَانٍ ( 48 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 48
Abounding in two facets, art and science. ('Afnan' = Creative works, art and science). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 48
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 49 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 49
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 49
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ ( 50 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 50
Wherein flow two springs, creativity and aesthetics. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 50
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 51 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 51
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 51
فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَاكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ ( 52 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 52
Wherein is two kinds of fruit, of their own labor and of the added Reward. (50:35). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 52
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 53 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 53
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 53
مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشٍ بَطَائِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ ۚ وَجَنَى الْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ ( 54 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 54
Reclining on luxurious carpets lined with rich brocade, the fruit of both Gardens at hand. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 54
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 55 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 55
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 55
فِيهِنَّ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ ( 56 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 56
Therein women have a modest gaze, never touched by human vices or evil prompting. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 56
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 57 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 57
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 57
كَأَنَّهُنَّ الْيَاقُوتُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ ( 58 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 58
Like unto rubies and pearls. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 58
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 59 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 59
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 59
هَلْ جَزَاءُ الْإِحْسَانِ إِلَّا الْإِحْسَانُ ( 60 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 60
Is the reward of goodness anything but goodness? (10:26), (16:30), (76:9). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 60
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 61 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 61
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 61
وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ ( 62 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 62
And other than these two, shall be two more Gardens. (The human 'Self' and the new Universe will keep evolving (69:17)). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 62
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 63 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 63
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 63
مُدْهَامَّتَانِ ( 64 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 64
Both ever-fresh, lush green, pleasing. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 64
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 65 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 65
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 65
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ ( 66 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 66
Therein are two springs gushing forth. (Personal delight and shared joy (52:25)). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 66
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 67 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 67
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 67
فِيهِمَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ ( 68 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 68
Therein is fruit, and palms and pomegranate. (Fruit within the fruit of Reward). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 68
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 69 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 69
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 69
فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ ( 70 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 70
Therein are all things most excellent, symmetrical, beautiful. ('Khair' = Good thing = Excellent. 'Hisan' = Nicely balanced = Beautifully symmetrical = Symmetrically beautiful). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 70
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 71 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 71
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 71
حُورٌ مَّقْصُورَاتٌ فِي الْخِيَامِ ( 72 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 72
Modest, intelligent companions in blessed shades. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 72
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 73 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 73
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 73
لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ ( 74 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 74
Companions never touched by human vices or evil prompting. (55:15), (55:56). Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 74
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ( 75 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 75
Then, O Men and women! Which Authority of your Lord will you deny? Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 75
مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِيٍّ حِسَانٍ ( 76 ) Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 76
Relaxing on ever-fresh meadows and splendid carpets. Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) - Aya 76
