| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[38:6] | Waintalaqa almalao minhum aniimshoo waisbiroo AAala alihatikuminna hatha lashay-on yuradu
|  وانطلق الملأ منهم أن امشوا واصبروا على آلهتكم إن هذا لشيء يراد
وَانْطَلَقَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْهُمْ أَنِ امْشُوا وَاصْبِرُوا عَلَى آلِهَتِكُمْ إِنَّ هَذَا لَشَيْءٌ يُرَادُ |
| Words | |وانطلق - And went forth| الملأ - the chiefs| منهم - among them| أن - that,| امشوا - "Continue,| واصبروا - and be patient| على - over| آلهتكم - your gods.| إن - Indeed,| هذا - this| لشيء - (is) certainly a thing| يراد - intended.| |

| ከእነርሱም መኳንንቶቹ «ሂዱ፤ በአማልክቶቻችሁም (መግገዛት) ላይ ታገሱ፡፡ ይህ (ከእኛ) የሚፈለግ ነገር ነውና» እያሉ አዘገሙ፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { وانطلق الملأ منهم } من مجلس اجتماعهم عند أبي طالب وسماعهم فيه من النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قولوا: لا إله إلا الله { أن امشوا } يقول بعضهم لبعض امشوا { واصبروا على آلهتكم } اثبتوا على عبادتها { إن هذا } المذكور من التوحيد { لشيء يراد } منا . |
| Kkren imeqwôanen segsen, nnan: "elêut, illit d imezgiyen ar iôebbiten nnwen. Ayagi, d ayen iwatan. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | তাদের কতিপয় বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তি একথা বলে প্রস্থান করে যে, তোমরা চলে যাও এবং তোমাদের উপাস্যদের পূজায় দৃঢ় থাক। নিশ্চয়ই এ বক্তব্য কোন বিশেষ উদ্দেশ্যে প্রণোদিত। |
| Literal | And the assembly/nobles set out that: "Walk and be patient on your gods, that (E) (is) a thing (E) is being wanted/intended ." |
| Yusuf Ali | And the leader among them go away (impatiently), (saying), "Walk ye away, and remain constant to your gods! For this is truly a thing designed (against you)! |
| Pickthal | The chiefs among them go about, exhorting: Go and be staunch to your gods! Lo! this is a thing designed. |
| Arberry | And the Council of them depart, saying 'Go! Be steadfast to your gods; this is a thing to be desired. |

| Malik | Their leaders go about saying: "Pay no heed, stand firm in the service of your gods; this slogan of One God is designed against you.[6] |
