| 1 [6:25] | Waminhum man yastamiAAu ilayka wajaAAalnaAAala quloobihim akinnatan an yafqahoohu wafee athanihimwaqran wa-in yaraw kulla ayatin la yu/minoo bihahatta itha jaooka yujadiloonakayaqoolu allatheena kafaroo in hatha illa asateerual-awwaleena |  ومنهم من يستمع إليك وجعلنا على قلوبهم أكنة أن يفقهوه وفي آذانهم وقرا وإن يروا كل آية لا يؤمنوا بها حتى إذا جاءوك يجادلونك يقول الذين كفروا إن هذا إلا أساطير الأولينوَمِنْهُم مَّن يَسْتَمِعُ إِلَيْكَ وَجَعَلْنَا عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ أَكِنَّةً أَن يَفْقَهُوهُ وَفِي آذَانِهِمْ وَقْرًا وَإِن يَرَوْاْ كُلَّ آيَةٍ لاَّ يُؤْمِنُواْ بِهَا حَتَّى إِذَا جَآؤُوكَ يُجَادِلُونَكَ يَقُولُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ إِنْ هَذَآ إِلاَّ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ | |||||
| Words | |ومنهم - And among them| من - (are those) who| يستمع - listen| إليك - to you,| وجعلنا - but We have placed| على - over| قلوبهم - their hearts| أكنة - coverings| أن - lest| يفقهوه - they understand it,| وفي - and in| آذانهم - their ears| وقرا - deafness.| وإن - And if| يروا - they see| كل - every| آية - sign| لا - not| يؤمنوا - will they believe| بها - in it.| حتى - Until,| إذا - when| جاءوك - they come to you| يجادلونك - and argue with you| يقول - say| الذين - those who| كفروا - disbelieved,| إن - "Not| هذا - (is) this| إلا - but| أساطير - (the) tales| الأولين - (of) the former (people)."| | ||||||
| 2 [8:31] | Wa-itha tutla AAalayhim ayatunaqaloo qad samiAAna law nashao laqulnamithla hatha in hatha illa asateerual-awwaleena | وإذا تتلى عليهم آياتنا قالوا قد سمعنا لو نشاء لقلنا مثل هذا إن هذا إلا أساطير الأولين وَإِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا قَالُواْ قَدْ سَمِعْنَا لَوْ نَشَاءُ لَقُلْنَا مِثْلَ هَـذَا إِنْ هَـذَا إِلاَّ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| تتلى - are recited| عليهم - to them| آياتنا - Our Verses| قالوا - they say,| قد - "Verily| سمعنا - we have heard.| لو - if| نشاء - we wish| لقلنا - surely, we could say| مثل - like| هذا - this.| إن - Not| هذا - is this| إلا - but| أساطير - tales| الأولين - (of) the former (people)."| | ||||||
| 3 [16:24] | Wa-itha qeela lahum mathaanzala rabbukum qaloo asateeru al-awwaleena | وإذا قيل لهم ماذا أنزل ربكم قالوا أساطير الأولين وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُم مَّاذَا أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمْ قَالُواْ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| قيل - it is said| لهم - to them,| ماذا - "What| أنزل - has your Lord sent down?| ربكم - has your Lord sent down?| قالوا - They say,| أساطير - "Tales| الأولين - (of) the ancient."| | ||||||
| 4 [23:83] | Laqad wuAAidna nahnu waabaonahatha min qablu in hatha illa asateerual-awwaleena | لقد وعدنا نحن وآباؤنا هذا من قبل إن هذا إلا أساطير الأولين لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَآبَاؤُنَا هَذَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ | |||||
| Words | |لقد - Verily,| وعدنا - we have been promised| نحن - [we]| وآباؤنا - and our forefathers| هذا - this| من - before;| قبل - before;| إن - not| هذا - (is) this| إلا - but| أساطير - (the) tales| الأولين - (of) the former (people)."| | ||||||
| 5 [25:5] | Waqaloo asateeru al-awwaleenaiktatabaha fahiya tumla AAalayhi bukratan waaseelan | وقالوا أساطير الأولين اكتتبها فهي تملى عليه بكرة وأصيلا وَقَالُوا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ اكْتَتَبَهَا فَهِيَ تُمْلَى عَلَيْهِ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا | |||||
| Words | |وقالوا - And they say,| أساطير - "Tales| الأولين - (of) the former people| اكتتبها - which he has had written| فهي - and they| تملى - are dictated| عليه - to him| بكرة - morning| وأصيلا - and evening."| | ||||||
| 6 [27:68] | Laqad wuAAidna hatha nahnuwaabaona min qablu in hatha illaasateeru al-awwaleena | لقد وعدنا هذا نحن وآباؤنا من قبل إن هذا إلا أساطير الأولين لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا هَذَا نَحْنُ وَآبَاؤُنَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ | |||||
| Words | |لقد - Certainly,| وعدنا - we have been promised| هذا - this,| نحن - we| وآباؤنا - and our forefathers| من - before.| قبل - before.| إن - Not| هذا - (is) this| إلا - except| أساطير - tales| الأولين - (of) the former (people)."| | ||||||
| 7 [46:17] | Waallathee qala liwalidayhioffin lakuma ataAAidaninee an okhraja waqad khalatialquroonu min qablee wahuma yastagheethani Allahawaylaka amin inna waAAda Allahi haqqunfayaqoolu ma hatha illa asateerual-awwaleena | والذي قال لوالديه أف لكما أتعدانني أن أخرج وقد خلت القرون من قبلي وهما يستغيثان الله ويلك آمن إن وعد الله حق فيقول ما هذا إلا أساطير الأولين وَالَّذِي قَالَ لِوَالِدَيْهِ أُفٍّ لَّكُمَا أَتَعِدَانِنِي أَنْ أُخْرَجَ وَقَدْ خَلَتِ الْقُرُونُ مِن قَبْلِي وَهُمَا يَسْتَغِيثَانِ اللَّهَ وَيْلَكَ آمِنْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ فَيَقُولُ مَا هَذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ | |||||
| Words | |والذي - But the one who| قال - says| لوالديه - to his parents,| أف - "Uff| لكما - to both of you!| أتعدانني - Do you promise me| أن - that| أخرج - I will be brought forth,| وقد - and have already passed away| خلت - and have already passed away| القرون - the generations| من - before me?"| قبلي - before me?"| وهما - And they both| يستغيثان - seek help| الله - (of) Allah.| ويلك - "Woe to you!| آمن - Believe!| إن - Indeed,| وعد - (the) Promise| الله - (of) Allah| حق - (is) true."| فيقول - But he says,| ما - "Not| هذا - (is) this| إلا - but| أساطير - (the) stories| الأولين - (of) the former (people)."| | ||||||
