| 1 [2:83] | Wa-ith akhathna meethaqabanee isra-eela la taAAbudoona illa Allahawabialwalidayni ihsanan watheealqurba waalyatama waalmasakeeniwaqooloo lilnnasi husnan waaqeemoo alssalatawaatoo alzzakata thumma tawallaytum illaqaleelan minkum waantum muAAridoona |  وإذ أخذنا ميثاق بني إسرائيل لا تعبدون إلا الله وبالوالدين إحسانا وذي القربى واليتامى والمساكين وقولوا للناس حسنا وأقيموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة ثم توليتم إلا قليلا منكم وأنتم معرضونوَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَ بَنِىْ إِسْرَائِيلَ لاَ تَعْبُدُونَ إِلاَّ اللّهَ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَاناً وَّذِي الْقُرْبَى وَالْيَتَامَى وَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَقُولُواْ لِلنَّاسِ حُسْناً وَّأَقِيمُواْ الصَّلاَةَ وَآتُواْ الزَّكَاةَ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ إِلاَّ قَلِيْلاً مِّنكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ مُّعْرِضُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| أخذنا - We took| ميثاق - (the) covenant| بني - (from the) Children| إسرائيل - (of) Israel,| لا - "Not| تعبدون - you will worship| إلا - except| الله - Allah,| وبالوالدين - and with [the] parents| إحسانا - (be) good| وذي - and (with)| القربى - relatives| واليتامى - and [the] orphans| والمساكين - and the needy,| وقولوا - and speak| للناس - to [the] people| حسنا - good,| وأقيموا - and establish| الصلاة - the prayer| وآتوا - and give| الزكاة - the zakah."| ثم - Then| توليتم - you turned away,| إلا - except| قليلا - a few| منكم - of you,| وأنتم - and you (were)| معرضون - refusing.| | ||||||
| 2 [3:23] | Alam tara ila allatheena ootoonaseeban mina alkitabi yudAAawna ila kitabiAllahi liyahkuma baynahum thumma yatawallafareequn minhum wahum muAAridoona | ألم تر إلى الذين أوتوا نصيبا من الكتاب يدعون إلى كتاب الله ليحكم بينهم ثم يتولى فريق منهم وهم معرضون أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ أُوْتُواْ نَصِيبًا مِّنَ الْكِتَابِ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى كِتَابِ اللّهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّى فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ألم - Have not| تر - you seen| إلى - [to]| الذين - those who| أوتوا - were given| نصيبا - a portion| من - of| الكتاب - the Scripture?| يدعون - They are invited| إلى - to| كتاب - (the) Book| الله - (of) Allah| ليحكم - that (it should) arbitrate| بينهم - between them,| ثم - then| يتولى - turns away| فريق - a party| منهم - of them| وهم - and they (are)| معرضون - those who are averse.| | ||||||
| 3 [8:23] | Walaw AAalima Allahu feehim khayranlaasmaAAahum walaw asmaAAahum latawallaw wahum muAAridoona | ولو علم الله فيهم خيرا لأسمعهم ولو أسمعهم لتولوا وهم معرضون وَلَوْ عَلِمَ اللّهُ فِيهِمْ خَيْرًا لَّأَسْمَعَهُمْ وَلَوْ أَسْمَعَهُمْ لَتَوَلَّواْ وَّهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولو - And if| علم - (had) known| الله - Allah| فيهم - in them| خيرا - any good,| لأسمعهم - surely, He (would) have made them hear.| ولو - And if| أسمعهم - He had made them hear,| لتولوا - surely they would have turned away,| وهم - while they| معرضون - (were) averse.| | ||||||
| 4 [9:76] | Falamma atahum min fadlihibakhiloo bihi watawallaw wahum muAAridoona | فلما آتاهم من فضله بخلوا به وتولوا وهم معرضون فَلَمَّا آتَاهُم مِّن فَضْلِهِ بَخِلُواْ بِهِ وَتَوَلَّواْ وَّهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فلما - But when| آتاهم - He gave them| من - of| فضله - His Bounty,| بخلوا - they became stingy| به - with it| وتولوا - and turned away| وهم - while they| معرضون - (were) averse.| | ||||||
| 5 [12:105] | Wakaayyin min ayatin fee alssamawatiwaal-ardi yamurroona AAalayha wahum AAanhamuAAridoona | وكأين من آية في السماوات والأرض يمرون عليها وهم عنها معرضون وَكَأَيِّن مِّن آيَةٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ يَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهَا وَهُمْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وكأين - And how many| من - of| آية - a Sign| في - in| السماوات - the heavens| والأرض - and the earth| يمرون - they pass| عليها - over it,| وهم - while they| عنها - (are) from them| معرضون - the ones who turn away.| | ||||||
| 6 [21:1] | Iqtaraba lilnnasi hisabuhumwahum fee ghaflatin muAAridoona | اقترب للناس حسابهم وهم في غفلة معرضون اقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مُّعْرِضُونَ | |||||
| Words | |اقترب - (Has) approached| للناس - for [the] mankind| حسابهم - their account,| وهم - while they| في - (are) in| غفلة - heedlessness| معرضون - turning away.| | ||||||
| 7 [21:24] | Ami ittakhathoo min doonihi alihatanqul hatoo burhanakum hatha thikru manmaAAiya wathikru man qablee bal aktharuhum layaAAlamoona alhaqqa fahum muAAridoona | أم اتخذوا من دونه آلهة قل هاتوا برهانكم هذا ذكر من معي وذكر من قبلي بل أكثرهم لا يعلمون الحق فهم معرضون أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ آلِهَةً قُلْ هَاتُوا بُرْهَانَكُمْ هَذَا ذِكْرُ مَن مَّعِيَ وَذِكْرُ مَن قَبْلِي بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ الْحَقَّ فَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ | |||||
| Words | |أم - Or| اتخذوا - (have) they taken| من - besides Him| دونه - besides Him| آلهة - gods?| قل - Say,| هاتوا - "Bring| برهانكم - your proof.| هذا - This| ذكر - (is) a Reminder| من - (for those) who| معي - (are) with me,| وذكر - and a Reminder| من - (for those) who| قبلي - (were) before me."| بل - But| أكثرهم - most of them| لا - (do) not| يعلمون - know| الحق - the truth| فهم - so they| معرضون - (are) averse.| | ||||||
| 8 [21:32] | WajaAAalna alssamaasaqfan mahfoothan wahum AAan ayatihamuAAridoona | وجعلنا السماء سقفا محفوظا وهم عن آياتها معرضون وَجَعَلْنَا السَّمَاءَ سَقْفًا مَّحْفُوظًا وَهُمْ عَنْ آيَاتِهَا مُعْرِضُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وجعلنا - And We made| السماء - the sky| سقفا - a roof| محفوظا - protected.| وهم - But they,| عن - from| آياتها - its Signs,| معرضون - turn away.| | ||||||
| 9 [21:42] | Qul man yaklaokum biallayli waalnnaharimina alrrahmani bal hum AAan thikrirabbihim muAAridoona | قل من يكلؤكم بالليل والنهار من الرحمن بل هم عن ذكر ربهم معرضون قُلْ مَن يَكْلَؤُكُم بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مِنَ الرَّحْمَنِ بَلْ هُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ | |||||
| Words | |قل - Say,| من - "Who| يكلؤكم - (can) protect you| بالليل - in the night| والنهار - and the day| من - from| الرحمن - the Most Gracious?"| بل - Yet,| هم - they| عن - from| ذكر - (the) remembrance| ربهم - (of) their Lord| معرضون - turn away.| | ||||||
| 10 [23:3] | Waallatheena hum AAani allaghwimuAAridoona | والذين هم عن اللغو معرضون وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِ اللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُونَ | |||||

| 11 [23:71] | Walawi ittabaAAa alhaqqu ahwaahumlafasadati alssamawatu waal-arduwaman feehinna bal ataynahum bithikrihim fahum AAanthikrihim muAAridoona | ولو اتبع الحق أهواءهم لفسدت السماوات والأرض ومن فيهن بل أتيناهم بذكرهم فهم عن ذكرهم معرضون وَلَوِ اتَّبَعَ الْحَقُّ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ بَلْ أَتَيْنَاهُم بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَن ذِكْرِهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولو - But if| اتبع - (had) followed| الحق - the truth| أهواءهم - their desires,| لفسدت - surely (would) have been corrupted| السماوات - the heavens| والأرض - and the earth| ومن - and whoever| فيهن - (is) therein.| بل - Nay,| أتيناهم - We have brought them| بذكرهم - their reminder,| فهم - but they,| عن - from| ذكرهم - their reminder,| معرضون - (are) turning away.| | ||||||
| 12 [24:48] | Wa-itha duAAoo ila Allahiwarasoolihi liyahkuma baynahum itha fareequn minhummuAAridoona | وإذا دعوا إلى الله ورسوله ليحكم بينهم إذا فريق منهم معرضون وَإِذَا دُعُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| دعوا - they are called| إلى - to| الله - Allah| ورسوله - and His Messenger,| ليحكم - to judge| بينهم - between them,| إذا - behold,| فريق - a party| منهم - of them| معرضون - (is) averse.| | ||||||

| 14 [46:3] | Ma khalaqna alssamawatiwaal-arda wama baynahuma illabialhaqqi waajalin musamman waallatheenakafaroo AAamma onthiroo muAAridoona | ما خلقنا السماوات والأرض وما بينهما إلا بالحق وأجل مسمى والذين كفروا عما أنذروا معرضون مَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا عَمَّا أُنذِرُوا مُعْرِضُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ما - Not| خلقنا - We created| السماوات - the heavens| والأرض - and the earth| وما - and what| بينهما - (is) between both of them| إلا - except| بالحق - in truth| وأجل - and (for) a term| مسمى - appointed.| والذين - But those who| كفروا - disbelieve,| عما - from what| أنذروا - they are warned,| معرضون - (are) turning away.| | ||||||
