| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[19:92] | Wama yanbaghee lilrrahmanian yattakhitha waladan
|  وما ينبغي للرحمن أن يتخذ ولدا
وَمَا يَنبَغِي لِلرَّحْمَنِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا |
| Words | |وما - And not| ينبغي - is appropriate| للرحمن - for the Most Gracious| أن - that| يتخذ - He should take| ولدا - a son.| |

| ለአልረሕማን ልጅን መያዝ አይገባውም፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { وما ينبغي للرحمن أن يتخذ ولدا } أي ما يليق به ذلك . |
| Ur iwjib ara, i Uênin, ad Isâu mmi S. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | অথচ সন্তান গ্রহণ করা দয়াময়ের জন্য শোভনীয় নয়। |
| Literal | And (it) would not (be) to the merciful that He takes a child (son). |
| Yusuf Ali | For it is not consonant with the majesty of (Allah) Most Gracious that He should beget a son. |
| Pickthal | When it is not meet for (the Majesty of) the Beneficent that He should choose a son. |
| Arberry | and it behoves not the All-merciful to take a son. |
| Shakir | And it is not worthy of the Beneficent Allah that He should take (to Himself) a son. |
| Sarwar | The Beneficent God is too Exalted to have a son. |
| H/K/Saheeh | And it is not appropriate for the Most Merciful that He should take a son. |
| Malik | It is not befitting to the Compassionate (God) that He should beget a son.[92] |
| Maulana Ali** | And it is not worthy of the Beneficent that he should take to Himself a son. |
| Free Minds | And what need does the Almighty have to take a son? |
| Qaribullah | It is not for the Merciful to take a son! |
| George Sale | whereas it becometh not God to beget children. |
| JM Rodwell | when it beseemeth not the God of Mercy to beget a son! |
| Asad | although it is inconceivable that the Most Gracious should take unto Himself a son!" |
| Khalifa** | It is not befitting the Most Gracious that He should beget a son. |
