| 1 [2:96] | Walatajidannahum ahrasa alnnasiAAala hayatin wamina allatheenaashrakoo yawaddu ahaduhum law yuAAammaru alfa sanatin wamahuwa bimuzahzihihi mina alAAathabi anyuAAammara waAllahu baseerun bimayaAAmaloona |  ولتجدنهم أحرص الناس على حياة ومن الذين أشركوا يود أحدهم لو يعمر ألف سنة وما هو بمزحزحه من العذاب أن يعمر والله بصير بما يعملونوَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمْ أَحْرَصَ النَّاسِ عَلَى حَيَاةٍ وَمِنَ الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمْ لَوْ يُعَمَّرُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحْزِحِهِ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ أَنْ يُّعَمَّرَ وَاللّهُ بَصِيرٌ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولتجدنهم - And surely you will find them| أحرص - (the) most greedy| الناس - (of) [the] mankind| على - for| حياة - life,| ومن - and (greedier) than| الذين - those who| أشركوا - associate[d] partners (with Allah).| يود - Loves| أحدهم - (each) one of them| لو - if| يعمر - he could be granted a life| ألف - (of) a thousand| سنة - year(s).| وما - But not| هو - it| بمزحزحه - (will) remove him| من - from| العذاب - the punishment| أن - that| يعمر - he should be granted life.| والله - And Allah| بصير - (is) All-Seer| بما - of what| يعملون - they do.| | ||||||
| 2 [2:134] | Tilka ommatun qad khalat laha makasabat walakum ma kasabtum wala tus-aloona AAammakano yaAAmaloona | تلك أمة قد خلت لها ما كسبت ولكم ما كسبتم ولا تسألون عما كانوا يعملون تِلْكَ أُمَّةٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَلَكُم مَّا كَسَبْتُمْ وَلاَ تُسْأَلُونَ عَمَّا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |تلك - This| أمة - (was) a community| قد - (which)| خلت - has passed away,| لها - for it| ما - what| كسبت - it earned| ولكم - and for you| ما - what| كسبتم - you have earned.| ولا - And not| تسألون - you will be asked| عما - about what| كانوا - they used to| يعملون - do.| | ||||||
| 3 [2:141] | Tilka ommatun qad khalat laha makasabat walakum ma kasabtum wala tus-aloona AAammakanoo yaAAmaloona | تلك أمة قد خلت لها ما كسبت ولكم ما كسبتم ولا تسألون عما كانوا يعملون تِلْكَ أُمَّةٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَلَكُم مَّا كَسَبْتُمْ وَلاَ تُسْأَلُونَ عَمَّا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |تلك - This| أمة - (was) a community| قد - (which)| خلت - has passed away,| لها - for it| ما - what| كسبت - it earned| ولكم - and for you| ما - what| كسبتم - you have earned.| ولا - And not| تسألون - you will be asked| عما - about what| كانوا - they used to| يعملون - do.| | ||||||
| 4 [2:144] | Qad nara taqalluba wajhika fee alssama-ifalanuwalliyannaka qiblatan tardaha fawalli wajhakashatra almasjidi alharami wahaythu makuntum fawalloo wujoohakum shatrahu wa-inna allatheenaootoo alkitaba layaAAlamoona annahu alhaqqu minrabbihim wama Allahu bighafilin AAammayaAAmaloona | قد نرى تقلب وجهك في السماء فلنولينك قبلة ترضاها فول وجهك شطر المسجد الحرام وحيث ما كنتم فولوا وجوهكم شطره وإن الذين أوتوا الكتاب ليعلمون أنه الحق من ربهم وما الله بغافل عما يعملون قَدْ نَرَى تَقَلُّبَ وَجْهِكَ فِي السَّمَاءِ فَلَنُوَلِّيَنَّكَ قِبْلَةً تَرْضَاهَا فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَحَيْثُ مَا كُنتُمْ فَوَلُّواْ وُجُوهَكُمْ شَطْرَهُ وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ أُوْتُواْ الْكِتَابَ لَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ وَمَا اللّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |قد - Indeed,| نرى - We see| تقلب - (the) turning| وجهك - (of) your face| في - towards| السماء - the heaven.| فلنولينك - So We will surely turn you| قبلة - (to the) direction of prayer| ترضاها - you will be pleased with.| فول - So turn| وجهك - your face| شطر - towards the direction| المسجد - (of) Al-Masjid| الحرام - Al-Haraam| وحيث - and wherever| ما - that| كنتم - you are| فولوا - [so] turn| وجوهكم - your faces| شطره - (in) its direction.| وإن - And indeed,| الذين - those who| أوتوا - were given| الكتاب - the Book| ليعلمون - surely know| أنه - that it| الحق - (is) the truth| من - from| ربهم - their Lord.| وما - And not| الله - (is) Allah| بغافل - unaware| عما - of what| يعملون - they do.| | ||||||
| 5 [3:120] | In tamsaskum hasanatun tasu/humwa-in tusibkum sayyi-atun yafrahoo bihawa-in tasbiroo watattaqoo la yadurrukumkayduhum shay-an inna Allaha bima yaAAmaloona muheetun | إن تمسسكم حسنة تسؤهم وإن تصبكم سيئة يفرحوا بها وإن تصبروا وتتقوا لا يضركم كيدهم شيئا إن الله بما يعملون محيط إِن تَمْسَسْكُمْ حَسَنَةٌ تَسُؤْهُمْ وَإِن تُصِبْكُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَفْرَحُواْ بِهَا وَإِن تَصْبِرُواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ لاَ يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا إِنَّ اللّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ | |||||
| Words | |إن - If| تمسسكم - touches you| حسنة - a good,| تسؤهم - it grieves them| وإن - and if| تصبكم - strikes you| سيئة - misfortune,| يفرحوا - they rejoice| بها - at it.| وإن - And if| تصبروا - you are patient| وتتقوا - and fear (Allah),| لا - not| يضركم - will harm you| كيدهم - their plot| شيئا - (in) anything.| إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah,| بما - of what| يعملون - they do| محيط - (is) All-Encompassing.| | ||||||
| 6 [3:163] | Hum darajatun AAinda AllahiwaAllahu baseerun bima yaAAmaloona | هم درجات عند الله والله بصير بما يعملون هُمْ دَرَجَاتٌ عِندَ اللّهِ واللّهُ بَصِيرٌ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |هم - They| درجات - (are in varying) degrees| عند - near| الله - Allah,| والله - and Allah| بصير - (is) All-Seer| بما - of what| يعملون - they do.| | ||||||
| 7 [4:17] | Innama alttawbatu AAalaAllahi lillatheena yaAAmaloona alssoo-abijahalatin thumma yatooboona min qareebin faola-ikayatoobu Allahu AAalayhim wakana AllahuAAaleeman hakeeman | إنما التوبة على الله للذين يعملون السوء بجهالة ثم يتوبون من قريب فأولئك يتوب الله عليهم وكان الله عليما حكيما إِنَّمَا التَّوْبَةُ عَلَى اللّهِ لِلَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ السُّوءَ بِجَهَالَةٍ ثُمَّ يَتُوبُونَ مِن قَرِيبٍ فَأُوْلَـئِكَ يَتُوبُ اللّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَكَانَ اللّهُ عَلِيماً حَكِيماً | |||||
| Words | |إنما - Only| التوبة - the acceptance of repentance| على - by| الله - Allah| للذين - (is) for those who| يعملون - do| السوء - the evil| بجهالة - in ignorance,| ثم - then| يتوبون - they repent| من - from| قريب - soon after.| فأولئك - Then those| يتوب - will have forgiveness| الله - (from) Allah| عليهم - upon them,| وكان - and is| الله - Allah| عليما - All-Knowing,| حكيما - All-Wise.| | ||||||
| 8 [4:18] | Walaysati alttawbatu lillatheenayaAAmaloona alssayyi-ati hatta ithahadara ahadahumu almawtu qala inneetubtu al-ana wala allatheena yamootoonawahum kuffarun ola-ika aAAtadna lahum AAathabanaleeman | وليست التوبة للذين يعملون السيئات حتى إذا حضر أحدهم الموت قال إني تبت الآن ولا الذين يموتون وهم كفار أولئك أعتدنا لهم عذابا أليما وَلَيْسَتِ التَّوْبَةُ لِلَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ السَّيِّئَاتِ حَتَّى إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَهُمُ الْمَوْتُ قَالَ إِنِّي تُبْتُ الْآنَ وَلاَ الَّذِينَ يَمُوتُونَ وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ أُوْلَـئِكَ أَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا | |||||
| Words | |وليست - And not| التوبة - (is) the acceptance of repentance| للذين - for those who| يعملون - do| السيئات - the evil deeds| حتى - until| إذا - when| حضر - approaches| أحدهم - one of them| الموت - [the] death,| قال - he says,| إني - "Indeed I| تبت - repent| الآن - now;"| ولا - and not| الذين - those who| يموتون - die| وهم - while they| كفار - (are) disbelievers.| أولئك - Those -| أعتدنا - We have prepared| لهم - for them| عذابا - a punishment| أليما - painful.| | ||||||
| 9 [4:108] | Yastakhfoona mina alnnasi walayastakhfoona mina Allahi wahuwa maAAahum ithyubayyitoona ma la yarda mina alqawli wakanaAllahu bima yaAAmaloona muheetan | يستخفون من الناس ولا يستخفون من الله وهو معهم إذ يبيتون ما لا يرضى من القول وكان الله بما يعملون محيطا يَسْتَخْفُونَ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَلاَ يَسْتَخْفُونَ مِنَ اللّهِ وَهُوَ مَعَهُمْ إِذْ يُبَيِّتُونَ مَا لاَ يَرْضَى مِنَ الْقَوْلِ وَكَانَ اللّهُ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطًا | |||||
| Words | |يستخفون - They seek to hide| من - from| الناس - the people| ولا - but not| يستخفون - (can) they hide| من - from| الله - Allah| وهو - and He| معهم - (is) with them| إذ - when| يبيتون - they plot by night| ما - what| لا - not| يرضى - (does) he approve| من - of| القول - the word.| وكان - And is| الله - Allah| بما - of what| يعملون - they do -| محيطا - All-Encompassing.| | ||||||
| 10 [5:62] | Watara katheeran minhum yusariAAoonafee al-ithmi waalAAudwani waaklihimu alssuhtalabi/sa ma kanoo yaAAmaloona | وترى كثيرا منهم يسارعون في الإثم والعدوان وأكلهم السحت لبئس ما كانوا يعملون وَتَرَى كَثِيرًا مِّنْهُمْ يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ وَأَكْلِهِمُ السُّحْتَ لَبِئْسَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وترى - And you see| كثيرا - many| منهم - of them| يسارعون - hastening| في - into| الإثم - [the] sin| والعدوان - and [the] transgression| وأكلهم - and eating| السحت - the forbidden.| لبئس - Surely evil| ما - (is) what| كانوا - they were| يعملون - doing.| | ||||||
| 11 [5:66] | Walaw annahum aqamoo alttawratawaal-injeela wama onzila ilayhim min rabbihimlaakaloo min fawqihim wamin tahti arjulihim minhum ommatunmuqtasidatun wakatheerun minhum saa mayaAAmaloona | ولو أنهم أقاموا التوراة والإنجيل وما أنزل إليهم من ربهم لأكلوا من فوقهم ومن تحت أرجلهم منهم أمة مقتصدة وكثير منهم ساء ما يعملون وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ أَقَامُواْ التَّوْرَاةَ وَالْإِنجِيلَ وَمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيهِم مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ لَأَكَلُواْ مِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَمِن تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِهِم مِّنْهُمْ أُمَّةٌ مُّقْتَصِدَةٌ وَكَثِيرٌ مِّنْهُمْ سَاءَ مَا يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولو - And if| أنهم - that they| أقاموا - had stood firmly| التوراة - (by) the Taurat| والإنجيل - and the Injeel| وما - and what| أنزل - was revealed| إليهم - to them| من - from| ربهم - their Lord,| لأكلوا - surely they (would have) eaten| من - from| فوقهم - above them| ومن - and from| تحت - beneath| أرجلهم - their feet.| منهم - Among them| أمة - (is) a community| مقتصدة - moderate,| وكثير - but many| منهم - of them -| ساء - evil| ما - (is) what| يعملون - they do.| | ||||||
| 12 [5:71] | Wahasiboo alla takoonafitnatun faAAamoo wasammoo thumma taba AllahuAAalayhim thumma AAamoo wasammoo katheerun minhum waAllahubaseerun bima yaAAmaloona | وحسبوا ألا تكون فتنة فعموا وصموا ثم تاب الله عليهم ثم عموا وصموا كثير منهم والله بصير بما يعملون وَحَسِبُواْ أَلاَّ تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌ فَعَمُواْ وَصَمُّواْ ثُمَّ تَابَ اللّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ عَمُواْ وَصَمُّواْ كَثِيرٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَاللّهُ بَصِيرٌ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وحسبوا - And they thought| ألا - that not| تكون - will be (for them)| فتنة - a trial,| فعموا - so they became blind| وصموا - and they became deaf.| ثم - Then| تاب - turned| الله - Allah| عليهم - to them,| ثم - then (again)| عموا - they became blind| وصموا - and they became deaf,| كثير - many| منهم - of them.| والله - And Allah| بصير - (is) All-Seer| بما - of what| يعملون - they do.| | ||||||
| 13 [6:43] | Falawla ith jaahumba/suna tadarraAAoo walakin qasat quloobuhumwazayyana lahumu alshshaytanu ma kanooyaAAmaloona | فلولا إذ جاءهم بأسنا تضرعوا ولكن قست قلوبهم وزين لهم الشيطان ما كانوا يعملون فَلَوْلاَ إِذْ جَاءَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا تَضَرَّعُواْ وَلَـكِن قَسَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فلولا - Then why not| إذ - when| جاءهم - came to them| بأسنا - Our punishment,| تضرعوا - they humbled themselves?| ولكن - But| قست - became hardened| قلوبهم - their hearts| وزين - and made fair-seeming| لهم - to them| الشيطان - the Shaitaan| ما - what| كانوا - they used to| يعملون - do.| | ||||||
| 14 [6:88] | Thalika huda Allahiyahdee bihi man yashao min AAibadihi walaw ashrakoolahabita AAanhum ma kanoo yaAAmaloona | ذلك هدى الله يهدي به من يشاء من عباده ولو أشركوا لحبط عنهم ما كانوا يعملون ذَلِكَ هُدَى اللّهِ يَهْدِي بِهِ مَن يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَلَوْ أَشْرَكُواْ لَحَبِطَ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ذلك - That| هدى - (is the) Guidance| الله - (of) Allah,| يهدي - He guides| به - with it| من - whom| يشاء - He wills| من - of| عباده - His slaves.| ولو - But if| أشركوا - they (had) associated partners (with Allah),| لحبط - surely (would be) worthless| عنهم - for them| ما - what| كانوا - they used to| يعملون - do.| | ||||||
| 15 [6:108] | Wala tasubboo allatheenayadAAoona min dooni Allahi fayasubboo AllahaAAadwan bighayri AAilmin kathalika zayyanna likulliommatin AAamalahum thumma ila rabbihim marjiAAuhumfayunabbi-ohum bima kanoo yaAAmaloona | ولا تسبوا الذين يدعون من دون الله فيسبوا الله عدوا بغير علم كذلك زينا لكل أمة عملهم ثم إلى ربهم مرجعهم فينبئهم بما كانوا يعملون وَلاَ تَسُبُّواْ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللّهِ فَيَسُبُّواْ اللّهَ عَدْوًا بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ كَذَلِكَ زَيَّنَّا لِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ عَمَلَهُمْ ثُمَّ إِلَى رَبِّهِم مَّرْجِعُهُمْ فَيُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولا - And (do) not| تسبوا - insult| الذين - those whom| يدعون - they invoke| من - from| دون - other than| الله - Allah,| فيسبوا - lest they insult| الله - Allah| عدوا - (in) enmity| بغير - without| علم - knowledge.| كذلك - Thus| زينا - We have made fair-seeming| لكل - to every| أمة - community| عملهم - their deed.| ثم - Then| إلى - to| ربهم - their Lord| مرجعهم - (is) their return,| فينبئهم - then He will inform them| بما - about what| كانوا - they used to| يعملون - do.| | ||||||
| 16 [6:122] | Awa man kana maytan faahyaynahuwajaAAalna lahu nooran yamshee bihi fee alnnasikaman mathaluhu fee alththulumatilaysa bikharijin minha kathalika zuyyinalilkafireena ma kanoo yaAAmaloona | أومن كان ميتا فأحييناه وجعلنا له نورا يمشي به في الناس كمن مثله في الظلمات ليس بخارج منها كذلك زين للكافرين ما كانوا يعملون أَوَ مَن كَانَ مَيْتًا فَأَحْيَيْنَاهُ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُ نُورًا يَمْشِي بِهِ فِي النَّاسِ كَمَن مَّثَلُهُ فِي الظُّلُمَاتِ لَيْسَ بِخَارِجٍ مِّنْهَا كَذَلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِلْكَافِرِينَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |أومن - Is (one) who| كان - was| ميتا - dead| فأحييناه - and We gave him life| وجعلنا - and We made| له - for him| نورا - light,| يمشي - he walks| به - whereby| في - among| الناس - the people,| كمن - like (one) who| مثله - [similar to him]| في - (is) in| الظلمات - the darknesses,| ليس - not| بخارج - he comes out| منها - of it?| كذلك - Thus| زين - is made fair-seeming| للكافرين - to the disbelievers| ما - what| كانوا - they were| يعملون - doing.| | ||||||
| 17 [6:127] | Lahum daru alssalamiAAinda rabbihim wahuwa waliyyuhum bima kanooyaAAmaloona | لهم دار السلام عند ربهم وهو وليهم بما كانوا يعملون لَهُمْ دَارُ السَّلاَمِ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمْ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |لهم - For them| دار - (will be) home| السلام - (of) [the] peace| عند - with| ربهم - their Lord.| وهو - And He| وليهم - (will be) their protecting friend| بما - because| كانوا - (of what) they used to| يعملون - do.| | ||||||
| 18 [6:132] | Walikullin darajatun mimmaAAamiloo wama rabbuka bighafilin AAammayaAAmaloona | ولكل درجات مما عملوا وما ربك بغافل عما يعملون وَلِكُلٍّ دَرَجَاتٌ مِّمَّا عَمِلُواْ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولكل - And for all| درجات - (will be) degrees| مما - for what| عملوا - they did.| وما - And not| ربك - (is) your Lord| بغافل - unaware| عما - about what| يعملون - they do.| | ||||||
| 19 [7:118] | FawaqaAAa alhaqqu wabatala makanoo yaAAmaloona | فوقع الحق وبطل ما كانوا يعملون فَوَقَعَ الْحَقُّ وَبَطَلَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فوقع - So was established| الحق - the truth,| وبطل - and became futile| ما - what| كانوا - they used to| يعملون - do.| | ||||||
| 20 [7:139] | Inna haola-i mutabbarun mahum feehi wabatilun ma kanoo yaAAmaloona | إن هؤلاء متبر ما هم فيه وباطل ما كانوا يعملون إِنَّ هَـؤُلاَءِ مُتَبَّرٌ مَّا هُمْ فِيهِ وَبَاطِلٌ مَّا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
