| 1 [2:118] | Waqala allatheena layaAAlamoona lawla yukallimuna Allahu awta/teena ayatun kathalika qala allatheenamin qablihim mithla qawlihim tashabahat quloobuhum qadbayyanna al-ayati liqawmin yooqinoona |  وقال الذين لا يعلمون لولا يكلمنا الله أو تأتينا آية كذلك قال الذين من قبلهم مثل قولهم تشابهت قلوبهم قد بينا الآيات لقوم يوقنونوَقَالَ الَّذِينَ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ لَوْلاَ يُكَلِّمُنَا اللّهُ أَوْ تَأْتِينَا آيَةٌ كَذَلِكَ قَالَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّثْلَ قَوْلِهِمْ تَشَابَهَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا الآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وقال - And said| الذين - those who| لا - (do) not| يعلمون - know,| لولا - "Why not| يكلمنا - speaks to us| الله - Allah| أو - or| تأتينا - comes to us| آية - a sign?"| كذلك - Like that| قال - said| الذين - those| من - from| قبلهم - before them| مثل - similar| قولهم - their saying.| تشابهت - Became alike| قلوبهم - their hearts.| قد - Indeed,| بينا - We have made clear| الآيات - the signs| لقوم - for people| يوقنون - (who) firmly believe.| | ||||||
| 2 [4:77] | Alam tara ila allatheena qeelalahum kuffoo aydiyakum waaqeemoo alssalatawaatoo alzzakata falamma kutibaAAalayhimu alqitalu itha fareequn minhum yakhshawnaalnnasa kakhashyati Allahi aw ashaddakhashyatan waqaloo rabbana lima katabta AAalaynaalqitala lawla akhkhartana ila ajalinqareebin qul mataAAu alddunya qaleelun waal-akhiratukhayrun limani ittaqa wala tuthlamoonafateelan | ألم تر إلى الذين قيل لهم كفوا أيديكم وأقيموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة فلما كتب عليهم القتال إذا فريق منهم يخشون الناس كخشية الله أو أشد خشية وقالوا ربنا لم كتبت علينا القتال لولا أخرتنا إلى أجل قريب قل متاع الدنيا قليل والآخرة خير لمن اتقى ولا تظلمون فتيلا أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ قِيلَ لَهُمْ كُفُّواْ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَقِيمُواْ الصَّلاَةَ وَآتُواْ الزَّكَاةَ فَلَمَّا كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقِتَالُ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَخْشَوْنَ النَّاسَ كَخَشْيَةِ اللّهِ أَوْ أَشَدَّ خَشْيَةً وَقَالُواْ رَبَّنَا لِمَ كَتَبْتَ عَلَيْنَا الْقِتَالَ لَوْلاَ أَخَّرْتَنَا إِلَى أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ قُلْ مَتَاعُ الدُّنْيَا قَلِيلٌ وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّمَنِ اتَّقَى وَلاَ تُظْلَمُونَ فَتِيلاً | |||||
| Words | |ألم - Have not| تر - you seen| إلى - [towards]| الذين - those who| قيل - (when) it was said| لهم - to them,| كفوا - "Restrain| أيديكم - your hands| وأقيموا - and establish| الصلاة - the prayer| وآتوا - and give| الزكاة - the zakah?"| فلما - Then when| كتب - was ordained| عليهم - on them| القتال - the fighting,| إذا - then| فريق - a group| منهم - of them| يخشون - [they] fear| الناس - the people| كخشية - as (they) fear| الله - Allah| أو - or| أشد - more intense| خشية - fear,| وقالوا - and they said,| ربنا - "Our Lord| لم - why| كتبت - have You ordained| علينا - upon us| القتال - [the] fighting?| لولا - Why not| أخرتنا - You postpone (it for) us| إلى - to| أجل - a term,| قريب - near."| قل - Say,| متاع - "Enjoyment| الدنيا - (of) the world| قليل - (is) little| والآخرة - and the Hereafter| خير - (is) better| لمن - for whoever| اتقى - fears (Allah)| ولا - and not| تظلمون - you will be wronged| فتيلا - (even as much as) a hair on a date-seed."| | ||||||
| 3 [5:63] | Lawla yanhahumu alrrabbaniyyoonawaal-ahbaru AAan qawlihimu al-ithmawaaklihimu alssuhta labi/sa ma kanooyasnaAAoona | لولا ينهاهم الربانيون والأحبار عن قولهم الإثم وأكلهم السحت لبئس ما كانوا يصنعون لَوْلاَ يَنْهَاهُمُ الرَّبَّانِيُّونَ وَالْأَحْبَارُ عَن قَوْلِهِمُ الْإِثْمَ وَأَكْلِهِمُ السُّحْتَ لَبِئْسَ مَا كَانُواْ يَصْنَعُونَ | |||||
| Words | |لولا - Why (do) not| ينهاهم - forbid them,| الربانيون - the Rabbis| والأحبار - and the religious scholars| عن - from| قولهم - their saying| الإثم - the sinful| وأكلهم - and their eating| السحت - (of) the forbidden?| لبئس - Surely, evil| ما - (is) what| كانوا - they used to| يصنعون - do.| | ||||||
| 4 [6:8] | Waqaloo lawla onzila AAalayhimalakun walaw anzalna malakan laqudiya al-amruthumma la yuntharoona | وقالوا لولا أنزل عليه ملك ولو أنزلنا ملكا لقضي الأمر ثم لا ينظرون وَقَالُواْ لَوْلاَ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ مَلَكٌ وَلَوْ أَنزَلْنَا مَلَكًا لَّقُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ ثُمَّ لاَ يُنظَرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وقالوا - And they said,| لولا - "Why has not been| أنزل - sent down| عليه - to him| ملك - an Angel?"| ولو - And if| أنزلنا - We (had) sent down| ملكا - an Angel,| لقضي - surely (would) have been decided| الأمر - the matter| ثم - then| لا - no| ينظرون - respite would have been granted to them.| | ||||||
| 5 [6:37] | Waqaloo lawla nuzzila AAalayhiayatun min rabbihi qul inna Allaha qadirunAAala an yunazzila ayatan walakinnaaktharahum la yaAAlamoona | وقالوا لولا نزل عليه آية من ربه قل إن الله قادر على أن ينزل آية ولكن أكثرهم لا يعلمون وَقَالُواْ لَوْلاَ نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِ قُلْ إِنَّ اللّهَ قَادِرٌ عَلَى أَن يُنَزِّلٍ آيَةً وَلَـكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وقالوا - And they said,| لولا - "Why (is) not| نزل - sent down| عليه - to him| آية - a Sign| من - from| ربه - his Lord?"| قل - Say,| إن - "Indeed| الله - Allah| قادر - (is) Able| على - [on]| أن - to| ينزل - send down| آية - a Sign,| ولكن - but| أكثرهم - most of them| لا - (do) not| يعلمون - know."| | ||||||
| 6 [7:43] | WanazaAAna ma fee sudoorihimmin ghillin tajree min tahtihimu al-anharu waqalooalhamdu lillahi allathee hadanalihatha wama kunna linahtadiya lawlaan hadana Allahu laqad jaat rusulurabbina bialhaqqi wanoodoo an tilkumualjannatu oorithtumooha bima kuntum taAAmaloona | ونزعنا ما في صدورهم من غل تجري من تحتهم الأنهار وقالوا الحمد لله الذي هدانا لهذا وما كنا لنهتدي لولا أن هدانا الله لقد جاءت رسل ربنا بالحق ونودوا أن تلكم الجنة أورثتموها بما كنتم تعملون وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهِمُ الْأَنْهَارُ وَقَالُواْ الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الَّذِي هَدَانَا لِهَـذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِيَ لَوْلاَ أَنْ هَدَانَا اللّهُ لَقَدْ جَاءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَنُودُواْ أَن تِلْكُمُ الْجَنَّةُ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ونزعنا - And We will remove| ما - whatever| في - (is) in| صدورهم - their breasts| من - of| غل - malice.| تجري - Flows| من - from| تحتهم - underneath them| الأنهار - the rivers.| وقالوا - And they will say,| الحمد - "All the praise| لله - (is) for Allah,| الذي - the One Who| هدانا - guided us| لهذا - to this,| وما - and not| كنا - we were| لنهتدي - to receive guidance| لولا - if not| أن - [that]| هدانا - (had) guided us| الله - Allah.| لقد - Certainly,| جاءت - came| رسل - Messengers| ربنا - (of) our Lord| بالحق - with the truth."| ونودوا - And they will be addressed,| أن - [that]| تلكم - "This| الجنة - (is) Paradise,| أورثتموها - you have been made to inherit it| بما - for what| كنتم - you used to| تعملون - do."| | ||||||
| 7 [7:203] | Wa-itha lam ta/tihim bi-ayatinqaloo lawla ijtabaytaha qul innamaattabiAAu ma yooha ilayya min rabbee hathabasa-iru min rabbikum wahudan warahmatun liqawminyu/minoona | وإذا لم تأتهم بآية قالوا لولا اجتبيتها قل إنما أتبع ما يوحى إلي من ربي هذا بصائر من ربكم وهدى ورحمة لقوم يؤمنون وَإِذَا لَمْ تَأْتِهِم بِآيَةٍ قَالُواْ لَوْلاَ اجْتَبَيْتَهَا قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَتَّبِعُ مَا يُوحَى إِلَيَّ مِن رَّبِّي هَـذَا بَصَآئِرُ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| لم - not| تأتهم - you bring them| بآية - a Sign| قالوا - they say,| لولا - "Why (have) not| اجتبيتها - you devised it?"| قل - Say,| إنما - "Only| أتبع - I follow| ما - what| يوحى - is revealed| إلي - to me| من - from| ربي - my Lord.| هذا - This (is)| بصائر - enlightenment| من - from| ربكم - your Lord| وهدى - and guidance| ورحمة - and mercy| لقوم - for a people| يؤمنون - who believe."| | ||||||
| 8 [8:68] | Lawla kitabun mina Allahisabaqa lamassakum feema akhathtum AAathabunAAatheemun | لولا كتاب من الله سبق لمسكم فيما أخذتم عذاب عظيم لَّوْلاَ كِتَابٌ مِّنَ اللّهِ سَبَقَ لَمَسَّكُمْ فِيمَا أَخَذْتُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |لولا - Had not| كتاب - an ordainment| من - from| الله - Allah| سبق - preceded,| لمسكم - surely (would) have touched you| فيما - for what| أخذتم - you took -| عذاب - a punishment| عظيم - great.| | ||||||
| 9 [10:20] | Wayaqooloona lawla onzila AAalayhi ayatunmin rabbihi faqul innama alghaybu lillahi faintathirooinnee maAAakum mina almuntathireena | ويقولون لولا أنزل عليه آية من ربه فقل إنما الغيب لله فانتظروا إني معكم من المنتظرين وَيَقُولُونَ لَوْلاَ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِ فَقُلْ إِنَّمَا الْغَيْبُ لِلّهِ فَانْتَظِرُواْ إِنِّي مَعَكُم مِّنَ الْمُنتَظِرِينَ | |||||
| Words | |ويقولون - And they say,| لولا - "Why not| أنزل - is sent down| عليه - to him| آية - a Sign| من - from| ربه - his Lord?"| فقل - So say,| إنما - "Only| الغيب - the unseen| لله - (is) for Allah,| فانتظروا - so wait;| إني - indeed, I am| معكم - with you| من - among| المنتظرين - the ones who wait."| | ||||||
| 10 [11:12] | FalaAAallaka tarikun baAAda mayooha ilayka wada-iqun bihi sadruka anyaqooloo lawla onzila AAalayhi kanzun aw jaamaAAahu malakun innama anta natheerun waAllahuAAala kulli shay-in wakeelun | فلعلك تارك بعض ما يوحى إليك وضائق به صدرك أن يقولوا لولا أنزل عليه كنز أو جاء معه ملك إنما أنت نذير والله على كل شيء وكيل فَلَعَلَّكَ تَارِكٌ بَعْضَ مَا يُوحَى إِلَيْكَ وَضَآئِقٌ بِهِ صَدْرُكَ أَن يَقُولُواْ لَوْلاَ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ كَـنْـزٌ أَوْ جَاءَ مَعَهُ مَلَكٌ إِنَّمَا أَنتَ نَذِيرٌ وَاللّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَكِيلٌ | |||||
| Words | |فلعلك - Then possibly you| تارك - (may) give up| بعض - a part| ما - (of) what| يوحى - is revealed| إليك - to you| وضائق - and straitened| به - by it| صدرك - your breast| أن - because| يقولوا - they say,| لولا - "Why not| أنزل - is sent down| عليه - for him| كنز - a treasure| أو - or| جاء - has come| معه - with him| ملك - an Angel?"| إنما - Only| أنت - you| نذير - (are) a warner.| والله - And Allah| على - (is) on| كل - every| شيء - thing| وكيل - a Guardian.| | ||||||
| 11 [12:24] | Walaqad hammat bihi wahamma biha lawlaan raa burhana rabbihi kathalika linasrifaAAanhu alssoo-a waalfahshaa innahumin AAibadina almukhlaseena | ولقد همت به وهم بها لولا أن رأى برهان ربه كذلك لنصرف عنه السوء والفحشاء إنه من عبادنا المخلصين وَلَقَدْ هَمَّتْ بِهِ وَهَمَّ بِهَا لَوْلاَ أَن رَّأَى بُرْهَانَ رَبِّهِ كَذَلِكَ لِنَصْرِفَ عَنْهُ السُّوءَ وَالْفَحْشَاءَ إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُخْلَصِينَ | |||||
| Words | |ولقد - And certainly| همت - she did desire| به - him,| وهم - and he would have desired| بها - her,| لولا - if not| أن - that| رأى - he saw| برهان - the proof| ربه - (of) his Lord.| كذلك - Thus,| لنصرف - that We might avert| عنه - from him| السوء - the evil| والفحشاء - and the immorality.| إنه - Indeed, he| من - (was) of| عبادنا - Our slaves| المخلصين - the sincere.| | ||||||
| 12 [12:94] | Walamma fasalati alAAeeru qalaaboohum innee laajidu reeha yoosufa lawla antufannidooni | ولما فصلت العير قال أبوهم إني لأجد ريح يوسف لولا أن تفندون وَلَمَّا فَصَلَتِ الْعِيرُ قَالَ أَبُوهُمْ إِنِّي لَأَجِدُ رِيحَ يُوسُفَ لَوْلاَ أَن تُفَنِّدُونِ | |||||
| Words | |ولما - And when| فصلت - departed| العير - the caravan,| قال - their father said,| أبوهم - their father said,| إني - "Indeed, I| لأجد - [I] find| ريح - (the) smell| يوسف - (of) Yusuf,| لولا - if not| أن - that| تفندون - you think me weakened in mind."| | ||||||
| 13 [13:7] | Wayaqoolu allatheena kafaroo lawlaonzila AAalayhi ayatun min rabbihi innama anta munthirunwalikulli qawmin hadin | ويقول الذين كفروا لولا أنزل عليه آية من ربه إنما أنت منذر ولكل قوم هاد وَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِ إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مُنذِرٌ وَلِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ هَادٍ | |||||
| Words | |ويقول - And say| الذين - those who| كفروا - disbelieved,| لولا - "Why not| أنزل - has been sent down| عليه - to him| آية - a sign| من - from| ربه - his Lord?"| إنما - Only| أنت - you| منذر - (are) a warner,| ولكل - and for every| قوم - people| هاد - (is) a guide.| | ||||||
| 14 [13:27] | Wayaqoolu allatheena kafaroo lawlaonzila AAalayhi ayatun min rabbihi qul inna Allahayudillu man yashao wayahdee ilayhi man anaba | ويقول الذين كفروا لولا أنزل عليه آية من ربه قل إن الله يضل من يشاء ويهدي إليه من أناب وَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوْلاَ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِ قُلْ إِنَّ اللّهَ يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي إِلَيْهِ مَنْ أَنَابَ | |||||
| Words | |ويقول - And say| الذين - those who| كفروا - disbelieved,| لولا - "Why has not| أنزل - been sent down| عليه - upon him| آية - a Sign| من - from| ربه - his Lord?"| قل - Say,| إن - "Indeed,| الله - Allah| يضل - lets go astray| من - whom| يشاء - He wills| ويهدي - and guides| إليه - to Himself| من - whoever| أناب - turns back,| | ||||||
| 15 [18:15] | Haola-i qawmuna ittakhathoomin doonihi alihatan lawla ya/toona AAalayhim bisultaninbayyinin faman athlamu mimmani iftara AAalaAllahi kathiban | هؤلاء قومنا اتخذوا من دونه آلهة لولا يأتون عليهم بسلطان بين فمن أظلم ممن افترى على الله كذبا هَؤُلاَءِ قَوْمُنَا اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ آلِهَةً لَّوْلاَ يَأْتُونَ عَلَيْهِم بِسُلْطَانٍ بَيِّنٍ فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَى عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا | |||||
| Words | |هؤلاء - These,| قومنا - our people,| اتخذوا - have taken| من - besides Him| دونه - besides Him| آلهة - gods.| لولا - Why not| يأتون - they come| عليهم - to them| بسلطان - with an authority| بين - clear?| فمن - And who| أظلم - (is) more wrong| ممن - than (one) who| افترى - invents| على - against| الله - Allah| كذبا - a lie?| | ||||||
| 16 [20:133] | Waqaloo lawla ya/teenabi-ayatin min rabbihi awa lam ta/tihim bayyinatu mafee alssuhufi al-oola | وقالوا لولا يأتينا بآية من ربه أولم تأتهم بينة ما في الصحف الأولى وَقَالُواْ لَوْلَا يَأْتِينَا بِآيَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِ أَوَلَمْ تَأْتِهِم بَيِّنَةُ مَا فِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَى | |||||
| Words | |وقالوا - And they say,| لولا - "Why not| يأتينا - he brings us| بآية - a sign| من - from| ربه - his Lord?"| أولم - Has not| تأتهم - come to them| بينة - evidence| ما - (of) what| في - (was) in| الصحف - the Scriptures| الأولى - the former?| | ||||||
| 17 [20:134] | Walaw anna ahlaknahum biAAathabinmin qablihi laqaloo rabbana lawla arsaltailayna rasoolan fanattabiAAa ayatika minqabli an nathilla wanakhza | ولو أنا أهلكناهم بعذاب من قبله لقالوا ربنا لولا أرسلت إلينا رسولا فنتبع آياتك من قبل أن نذل ونخزى وَلَوْ أَنَّا أَهْلَكْنَاهُم بِعَذَابٍ مِّن قَبْلِهِ لَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا لَوْلَا أَرْسَلْتَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولًا فَنَتَّبِعَ آيَاتِكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن نَّذِلَّ وَنَخْزَى | |||||
| Words | |ولو - And if| أنا - We| أهلكناهم - (had) destroyed them| بعذاب - with a punishment| من - before him,| قبله - before him,| لقالوا - surely they (would) have said,| ربنا - "Our Lord,| لولا - why not| أرسلت - You sent| إلينا - to us| رسولا - a Messenger,| فنتبع - so we (could) have followed| آياتك - Your signs| من - before| قبل - before| أن - [that]| نذل - we were humiliated| ونخزى - and disgraced."| | ||||||
| 18 [24:12] | Lawla ith samiAAtumoohu thannaalmu/minoona waalmu/minatu bi-anfusihim khayran waqaloohatha ifkun mubeenun | لولا إذ سمعتموه ظن المؤمنون والمؤمنات بأنفسهم خيرا وقالوا هذا إفك مبين لَوْلَا إِذْ سَمِعْتُمُوهُ ظَنَّ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتُ بِأَنفُسِهِمْ خَيْرًا وَقَالُوا هَذَا إِفْكٌ مُّبِينٌ | |||||
| Words | |لولا - Why not,| إذ - when| سمعتموه - you heard it,| ظن - think| المؤمنون - the believing men| والمؤمنات - and the believing women| بأنفسهم - good of themselves| خيرا - good of themselves| وقالوا - and say,| هذا - "This| إفك - (is) a lie| مبين - clear?"| | ||||||
| 19 [24:13] | Lawla jaoo AAalayhibi-arbaAAati shuhadaa fa-ith lam ya/too bialshshuhada-ifaola-ika AAinda Allahi humu alkathiboona | لولا جاءوا عليه بأربعة شهداء فإذ لم يأتوا بالشهداء فأولئك عند الله هم الكاذبون لَوْلَا جَاؤُوا عَلَيْهِ بِأَرْبَعَةِ شُهَدَاءَ فَإِذْ لَمْ يَأْتُوا بِالشُّهَدَاءِ فَأُوْلَئِكَ عِندَ اللَّهِ هُمُ الْكَاذِبُونَ | |||||

| 20 [25:7] | Waqaloo mali hatha alrrasooliya/kulu alttaAAama wayamshee fee al-aswaqilawla onzila ilayhi malakun fayakoona maAAahu natheeran | وقالوا مال هذا الرسول يأكل الطعام ويمشي في الأسواق لولا أنزل إليه ملك فيكون معه نذيرا وَقَالُوا مَالِ هَذَا الرَّسُولِ يَأْكُلُ الطَّعَامَ وَيَمْشِي فِي الْأَسْوَاقِ لَوْلَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مَلَكٌ فَيَكُونَ مَعَهُ نَذِيرًا | |||||
