| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[20:134] | Walaw anna ahlaknahum biAAathabinmin qablihi laqaloo rabbana lawla arsaltailayna rasoolan fanattabiAAa ayatika minqabli an nathilla wanakhza
|  ولو أنا أهلكناهم بعذاب من قبله لقالوا ربنا لولا أرسلت إلينا رسولا فنتبع آياتك من قبل أن نذل ونخزى
وَلَوْ أَنَّا أَهْلَكْنَاهُم بِعَذَابٍ مِّن قَبْلِهِ لَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا لَوْلَا أَرْسَلْتَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولًا فَنَتَّبِعَ آيَاتِكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن نَّذِلَّ وَنَخْزَى |
| Words | |ولو - And if| أنا - We| أهلكناهم - (had) destroyed them| بعذاب - with a punishment| من - before him,| قبله - before him,| لقالوا - surely they (would) have said,| ربنا - "Our Lord,| لولا - why not| أرسلت - You sent| إلينا - to us| رسولا - a Messenger,| فنتبع - so we (could) have followed| آياتك - Your signs| من - before| قبل - before| أن - [that]| نذل - we were humiliated| ونخزى - and disgraced."| |

| እኛም ከእርሱ (ከሙሐመድ መላክ) በፊት በቅጣት ባጠፋናቸው ኖሮ «ጌታችን ሆይ! ከመዋረዳችንና ከማፈራችን በፊት አንቀጾችህን እንከተል ዘንድ ወደኛ መልከተኛን አትልክም ነበርን» ባሉ ነበር፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { ولو أنا أهلكناهم بعذاب من قبله } قبل محمد الرسول { لقالوا } يوم القيامة { ربنا لولا } هلا { أرسلت إلينا رسولاً فنتبع آياتك } المرسل بها { من قبل أن نذل } في القيامة { ونخزى } في جهنم . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | যদি আমি এদেরকে ইতিপূর্বে কোন শাস্তি দ্বারা ধ্বংস করতাম, তবে এরা বলতঃ হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আপনি আমাদের কাছে একজন রসূল প্রেরণ করলেন না কেন? তাহলে তো আমরা অপমানিত ও হেয় হওয়ার পূর্বেই আপনার নিদর্শন সমূহ মেনে চলতাম। |
| Literal | And if that (E) We destroyed/made them die with torture from before it, they would have said: "Our Lord, if only you sent to us a messenger, so we follow your signs/verses/evidences, from before that we humiliate/disgrace, and we shame/scandalize (ourselves)." |
