| 1 [4:97] | Inna allatheena tawaffahumualmala-ikatu thalimee anfusihim qaloofeema kuntum qaloo kunna mustadAAafeena feeal-ardi qaloo alam takun ardu AllahiwasiAAatan fatuhajiroo feeha faola-ikama/wahum jahannamu wasaat maseeran |  إن الذين توفاهم الملائكة ظالمي أنفسهم قالوا فيم كنتم قالوا كنا مستضعفين في الأرض قالوا ألم تكن أرض الله واسعة فتهاجروا فيها فأولئك مأواهم جهنم وساءت مصيراإِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَوَفَّاهُمُ الْمَلَآئِكَةُ ظَالِمِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ قَالُواْ فِيمَ كُنتُمْ قَالُواْ كُنَّا مُسْتَضْعَفِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ قَالُواْ أَلَمْ تَكُنْ أَرْضُ اللّهِ وَاسِعَةً فَتُهَاجِرُواْ فِيهَا فَأُوْلَـئِكَ مَأْوَاهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَسَاءَتْ مَصِيرًا | |||||
| Words | |إن - Indeed,| الذين - those whom -| توفاهم - take them (in death)| الملائكة - the Angels| ظالمي - (while) they (were) wronging| أنفسهم - themselves| قالوا - they say,| فيم - "In what (condition)| كنتم - were you?"| قالوا - They said,| كنا - "We were| مستضعفين - oppressed| في - in| الأرض - the earth."| قالوا - They said,| ألم - "Not| تكن - was| أرض - (the) earth| الله - (of) Allah| واسعة - spacious (enough)| فتهاجروا - so that you (could) emigrate| فيها - in it?"| فأولئك - Then those| مأواهم - (will have) their abode| جهنم - (in) Hell -| وساءت - and it is an evil| مصيرا - destination.| | ||||||
| 2 [6:23] | Thumma lam takun fitnatuhum illa an qaloowaAllahi rabbina ma kunnamushrikeena | ثم لم تكن فتنتهم إلا أن قالوا والله ربنا ما كنا مشركين ثُمَّ لَمْ تَكُن فِتْنَتُهُمْ إِلاَّ أَن قَالُواْ وَاللّهِ رَبِّنَا مَا كُنَّا مُشْرِكِينَ | |||||
| Words | |ثم - Then| لم - not| تكن - will be| فتنتهم - (for) them a plea| إلا - except| أن - that| قالوا - they say,| والله - "By Allah,| ربنا - our Lord,| ما - not| كنا - we were| مشركين - those who associated others (with Allah)."| | ||||||
| 3 [6:156] | An taqooloo innama onzila alkitabuAAala ta-ifatayni min qablina wa-in kunnaAAan dirasatihim laghafileena | أن تقولوا إنما أنزل الكتاب على طائفتين من قبلنا وإن كنا عن دراستهم لغافلين أَن تَقُولُواْ إِنَّمَا أُنزِلَ الْكِتَابُ عَلَى طَآئِفَتَيْنِ مِن قَبْلِنَا وَإِن كُنَّا عَن دِرَاسَتِهِمْ لَغَافِلِينَ | |||||
| Words | |أن - Lest| تقولوا - you say,| إنما - "Only| أنزل - was revealed| الكتاب - the Book| على - on| طائفتين - the two groups| من - from| قبلنا - before us,| وإن - and indeed| كنا - we were| عن - about| دراستهم - their study| لغافلين - certainly unaware."| | ||||||
| 4 [7:5] | Fama kana daAAwahum ithjaahum ba/suna illa an qaloo innakunna thalimeena | فما كان دعواهم إذ جاءهم بأسنا إلا أن قالوا إنا كنا ظالمين فَمَا كَانَ دَعْوَاهُمْ إِذْ جَاءَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا إِلاَّ أَن قَالُواْ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ | |||||
| Words | |فما - Then not| كان - was| دعواهم - their plea| إذ - when| جاءهم - came to them| بأسنا - Our punishment| إلا - except| أن - that| قالوا - they said,| إنا - "Indeed, we| كنا - were| ظالمين - wrongdoers."| | ||||||
| 5 [7:7] | Falanaqussanna AAalayhim biAAilmin wamakunna gha-ibeena | فلنقصن عليهم بعلم وما كنا غائبين فَلَنَقُصَّنَّ عَلَيْهِم بِعِلْمٍ وَمَا كُنَّا غَآئِبِينَ | |||||
| Words | |فلنقصن - Then surely We will narrate| عليهم - to them| بعلم - with knowledge,| وما - and not| كنا - were We| غائبين - absent.| | ||||||
| 6 [7:43] | WanazaAAna ma fee sudoorihimmin ghillin tajree min tahtihimu al-anharu waqalooalhamdu lillahi allathee hadanalihatha wama kunna linahtadiya lawlaan hadana Allahu laqad jaat rusulurabbina bialhaqqi wanoodoo an tilkumualjannatu oorithtumooha bima kuntum taAAmaloona | ونزعنا ما في صدورهم من غل تجري من تحتهم الأنهار وقالوا الحمد لله الذي هدانا لهذا وما كنا لنهتدي لولا أن هدانا الله لقد جاءت رسل ربنا بالحق ونودوا أن تلكم الجنة أورثتموها بما كنتم تعملون وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهِمُ الْأَنْهَارُ وَقَالُواْ الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الَّذِي هَدَانَا لِهَـذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِيَ لَوْلاَ أَنْ هَدَانَا اللّهُ لَقَدْ جَاءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَنُودُواْ أَن تِلْكُمُ الْجَنَّةُ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ونزعنا - And We will remove| ما - whatever| في - (is) in| صدورهم - their breasts| من - of| غل - malice.| تجري - Flows| من - from| تحتهم - underneath them| الأنهار - the rivers.| وقالوا - And they will say,| الحمد - "All the praise| لله - (is) for Allah,| الذي - the One Who| هدانا - guided us| لهذا - to this,| وما - and not| كنا - we were| لنهتدي - to receive guidance| لولا - if not| أن - [that]| هدانا - (had) guided us| الله - Allah.| لقد - Certainly,| جاءت - came| رسل - Messengers| ربنا - (of) our Lord| بالحق - with the truth."| ونودوا - And they will be addressed,| أن - [that]| تلكم - "This| الجنة - (is) Paradise,| أورثتموها - you have been made to inherit it| بما - for what| كنتم - you used to| تعملون - do."| | ||||||
| 7 [7:53] | Hal yanthuroona illata/weelahu yawma ya/tee ta/weeluhu yaqoolu allatheenanasoohu min qablu qad jaat rusulu rabbina bialhaqqifahal lana min shufaAAaa fayashfaAAoo lanaaw nuraddu fanaAAmala ghayra allathee kunnanaAAmalu qad khasiroo anfusahum wadalla AAanhum makanoo yaftaroona | هل ينظرون إلا تأويله يوم يأتي تأويله يقول الذين نسوه من قبل قد جاءت رسل ربنا بالحق فهل لنا من شفعاء فيشفعوا لنا أو نرد فنعمل غير الذي كنا نعمل قد خسروا أنفسهم وضل عنهم ما كانوا يفترون هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلاَّ تَأْوِيلَهُ يَوْمَ يَأْتِي تَأْوِيلُهُ يَقُولُ الَّذِينَ نَسُوهُ مِن قَبْلُ قَدْ جَاءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِالْحَقِّ فَهَل لَّنَا مِن شُفَعَاءَ فَيَشْفَعُواْ لَنَا أَوْ نُرَدُّ فَنَعْمَلَ غَيْرَ الَّذِي كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ قَدْ خَسِرُواْ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَفْتَرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |هل - Do| ينظرون - they wait| إلا - except| تأويله - (for) its fulfillment| يوم - (The) Day| يأتي - (will) come| تأويله - its fulfillment,| يقول - will say| الذين - those who| نسوه - had forgotten it| من - from| قبل - before,| قد - "Verily| جاءت - had come| رسل - (the) Messengers| ربنا - (of) our Lord| بالحق - with the truth,| فهل - so are (there)| لنا - for us| من - any| شفعاء - intercessors| فيشفعوا - so (that) they intercede| لنا - for us| أو - or| نرد - we are sent back| فنعمل - so (that) we do (deeds)| غير - other than| الذي - that which| كنا - we used to| نعمل - do."| قد - Verily,| خسروا - they lost| أنفسهم - themselves,| وضل - and strayed| عنهم - from them| ما - what| كانوا - they used to| يفترون - invent.| | ||||||
| 8 [7:88] | Qala almalao allatheenaistakbaroo min qawmihi lanukhrijannaka ya shuAAaybu waallatheenaamanoo maAAaka min qaryatina aw lataAAoodunna feemillatina qala awa law kunna kariheena | قال الملأ الذين استكبروا من قومه لنخرجنك يا شعيب والذين آمنوا معك من قريتنا أو لتعودن في ملتنا قال أولو كنا كارهين قَالَ الْمَلَأُ الَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُواْ مِن قَوْمِهِ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكَ يَا شُعَيْبُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ مَعَكَ مِن قَرْيَتِنَا أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِي مِلَّتِنَا قَالَ أَوَلَوْ كُنَّا كَارِهِينَ | |||||
| Words | |قال - Said| الملأ - the chiefs| الذين - (of) those who| استكبروا - were arrogant| من - among| قومه - his people,| لنخرجنك - "We will surely drive you out| يا - O| شعيب - O Shuaib!| والذين - And those who| آمنوا - (have) believed| معك - with you| من - from| قريتنا - our city,| أو - or| لتعودن - you must return| في - to| ملتنا - our religion."| قال - He said,| أولو - "Even if| كنا - we are| كارهين - (the) ones who hate (it)?| | ||||||
| 9 [7:113] | Wajaa alssaharatufirAAawna qaloo inna lana laajran in kunnanahnu alghalibeena | وجاء السحرة فرعون قالوا إن لنا لأجرا إن كنا نحن الغالبين وَجَاءَ السَّحَرَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ قَالْواْ إِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ الْغَالِبِينَ | |||||
| Words | |وجاء - So came| السحرة - the magicians| فرعون - (to) Firaun.| قالوا - They said,| إن - "Indeed,| لنا - for us| لأجرا - surely (will be) a reward| إن - if| كنا - we are| نحن - [we]| الغالبين - the victors."| | ||||||
| 10 [7:172] | Wa-ith akhatha rabbuka minbanee adama min thuhoorihim thurriyyatahumwaashhadahum AAala anfusihim alastu birabbikum qaloobala shahidna an taqooloo yawma alqiyamatiinna kunna AAan hatha ghafileena | وإذ أخذ ربك من بني آدم من ظهورهم ذريتهم وأشهدهم على أنفسهم ألست بربكم قالوا بلى شهدنا أن تقولوا يوم القيامة إنا كنا عن هذا غافلين وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِن بَنِي آدَمَ مِن ظُهُورِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَى أَنفُسِهِمْ أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ قَالُواْ بَلَى شَهِدْنَا أَن تَقُولُواْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَذَا غَافِلِينَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| أخذ - (was) taken| ربك - (by) your Lord| من - from| بني - (the) Children| آدم - (of) Adam -| من - from| ظهورهم - their loins -| ذريتهم - their descendants| وأشهدهم - and made them testify| على - over| أنفسهم - themselves,| ألست - "Am I not| بربكم - your Lord?"| قالوا - They said,| بلى - "Yes| شهدنا - we have testified."| أن - Lest| تقولوا - you say| يوم - (on the) Day| القيامة - (of) the Resurrection,| إنا - "Indeed,| كنا - we were| عن - about| هذا - this| غافلين - unaware."| | ||||||
| 11 [9:65] | Wala-in saaltahum layaqoolunna innamakunna nakhoodu wanalAAabu qul abiAllahiwaayatihi warasoolihi kuntum tastahzi-oona | ولئن سألتهم ليقولن إنما كنا نخوض ونلعب قل أبالله وآياته ورسوله كنتم تستهزئون وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّمَا كُنَّا نَخُوضُ وَنَلْعَبُ قُلْ أَبِاللّهِ وَآيَاتِهِ وَرَسُولِهِ كُنتُمْ تَسْتَهْزِؤُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولئن - And if| سألتهم - you ask them,| ليقولن - surely they will say,| إنما - "Only| كنا - we were| نخوض - conversing| ونلعب - and playing."| قل - Say,| أبالله - "Is it Allah| وآياته - and His Verses| ورسوله - and His Messenger| كنتم - (that) you were| تستهزئون - mocking?"| | ||||||
| 12 [10:29] | Fakafa biAllahishaheedan baynana wabaynakum in kunna AAan AAibadatikumlaghafileena | فكفى بالله شهيدا بيننا وبينكم إن كنا عن عبادتكم لغافلين فَكَفَى بِاللّهِ شَهِيدًا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ إِن كُنَّا عَنْ عِبَادَتِكُمْ لَغَافِلِينَ | |||||
| Words | |فكفى - So sufficient| بالله - (is) Allah| شهيدا - (as) a witness| بيننا - between us| وبينكم - and between you| إن - that| كنا - we were| عن - of| عبادتكم - your worship| لغافلين - certainly unaware.| | ||||||
| 13 [10:61] | Wama takoonu fee sha/nin wamatatloo minhu min qur-anin wala taAAmaloona minAAamalin illa kunna AAalaykum shuhoodan ithtufeedoona feehi wama yaAAzubu AAan rabbika minmithqali tharratin fee al-ardi walafee alssama-i wala asghara min thalikawala akbara illa fee kitabin mubeenun | وما تكون في شأن وما تتلو منه من قرآن ولا تعملون من عمل إلا كنا عليكم شهودا إذ تفيضون فيه وما يعزب عن ربك من مثقال ذرة في الأرض ولا في السماء ولا أصغر من ذلك ولا أكبر إلا في كتاب مبين وَمَا تَكُونُ فِي شَأْنٍ وَمَا تَتْلُو مِنْهُ مِن قُرْآنٍ وَلاَ تَعْمَلُونَ مِنْ عَمَلٍ إِلاَّ كُنَّا عَلَيْكُمْ شُهُودًا إِذْ تُفِيضُونَ فِيهِ وَمَا يَعْزُبُ عَن رَّبِّكَ مِن مِّثْقَالِ ذَرَّةٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلاَ فِي السَّمَاءِ وَلاَ أَصْغَرَ مِن ذَلِكَ وَلا أَكْبَرَ إِلاَّ فِي كِتَابٍ مُّبِينٍ | |||||
| Words | |وما - And not| تكون - you are| في - [in]| شأن - any situation,| وما - and not| تتلو - you recite| منه - of it| من - from| قرآن - (the) Quran| ولا - and not| تعملون - you do| من - any| عمل - deed| إلا - except| كنا - We are| عليكم - over you| شهودا - witnesses| إذ - when| تفيضون - you are engaged| فيه - in it.| وما - And not| يعزب - escapes| عن - from| ربك - your Lord| من - of| مثقال - (the) weight| ذرة - (of) an atom| في - in| الأرض - the earth,| ولا - and not| في - in| السماء - the heavens| ولا - and not| أصغر - smaller| من - than| ذلك - that| ولا - and not| أكبر - greater| إلا - but| في - (is) in| كتاب - a Record| مبين - clear.| | ||||||
| 14 [12:17] | Qaloo ya abanainna thahabna nastabiqu wataraknayoosufa AAinda mataAAina faakalahu alththi/buwama anta bimu/minin lana walaw kunna sadiqeena | قالوا يا أبانا إنا ذهبنا نستبق وتركنا يوسف عند متاعنا فأكله الذئب وما أنت بمؤمن لنا ولو كنا صادقين قَالُواْ يَا أَبَانَا إِنَّا ذَهَبْنَا نَسْتَبِقُ وَتَرَكْنَا يُوسُفَ عِندَ مَتَاعِنَا فَأَكَلَهُ الذِّئْبُ وَمَا أَنتَ بِمُؤْمِنٍ لِّنَا وَلَوْ كُنَّا صَادِقِينَ | |||||
| Words | |قالوا - They said,| يا - O| أبانا - "O our father!| إنا - Indeed, we| ذهبنا - [we] went| نستبق - racing each other| وتركنا - and we left| يوسف - Yusuf| عند - with| متاعنا - our possessions,| فأكله - and ate him| الذئب - the wolf.| وما - But not| أنت - you| بمؤمن - (will) believe| لنا - us,| ولو - even if| كنا - we are| صادقين - truthful."| | ||||||
| 15 [12:73] | Qaloo taAllahi laqadAAalimtum ma ji/na linufsida fee al-ardi wamakunna sariqeena | قالوا تالله لقد علمتم ما جئنا لنفسد في الأرض وما كنا سارقين قَالُواْ تَاللّهِ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتُم مَّا جِئْنَا لِنُفْسِدَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا كُنَّا سَارِقِينَ | |||||
| Words | |قالوا - They said,| تالله - "By Allah| لقد - certainly| علمتم - you know,| ما - not| جئنا - we came| لنفسد - that we cause corruption| في - in| الأرض - the land,| وما - and not| كنا - we are| سارقين - thieves."| | ||||||
| 16 [12:81] | IrjiAAoo ila abeekum faqooloo yaabana inna ibnaka saraqa wama shahidnailla bima AAalimna wama kunnalilghaybi hafitheena | ارجعوا إلى أبيكم فقولوا يا أبانا إن ابنك سرق وما شهدنا إلا بما علمنا وما كنا للغيب حافظين ارْجِعُواْ إِلَى أَبِيكُمْ فَقُولُواْ يَا أَبَانَا إِنَّ ابْنَكَ سَرَقَ وَمَا شَهِدْنَا إِلاَّ بِمَا عَلِمْنَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِلْغَيْبِ حَافِظِينَ | |||||
| Words | |ارجعوا - Return| إلى - to| أبيكم - your father| فقولوا - and say,| يا - O| أبانا - 'O our father!| إن - Indeed,| ابنك - your son| سرق - has stolen,| وما - and not| شهدنا - we testify| إلا - except| بما - of what| علمنا - we knew.| وما - And not| كنا - we were| للغيب - of the unseen| حافظين - guardians.| | ||||||
| 17 [12:82] | Wais-ali alqaryata allatee kunnafeeha waalAAeera allatee aqbalna feehawa-inna lasadiqoona | واسأل القرية التي كنا فيها والعير التي أقبلنا فيها وإنا لصادقون وَاسْأَلِ الْقَرْيَةَ الَّتِي كُنَّا فِيهَا وَالْعِيْرَ الَّتِي أَقْبَلْنَا فِيهَا وَإِنَّا لَصَادِقُونَ | |||||
| Words | |واسأل - And ask| القرية - the town| التي - where| كنا - we were| فيها - [in it],| والعير - and the caravan| التي - which| أقبلنا - we returned| فيها - [in it].| وإنا - And indeed, we| لصادقون - surely (are) truthful.'"| | ||||||
| 18 [12:91] | Qaloo taAllahi laqad atharakaAllahu AAalayna wa-in kunna lakhati-eena | قالوا تالله لقد آثرك الله علينا وإن كنا لخاطئين قَالُواْ تَاللّهِ لَقَدْ آثَرَكَ اللّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَإِن كُنَّا لَخَاطِئِينَ | |||||
| Words | |قالوا - They said,| تالله - "By Allah,| لقد - certainly| آثرك - Allah has preferred you| الله - Allah has preferred you| علينا - over us| وإن - and indeed,| كنا - we have been| لخاطئين - sinners."| | ||||||
| 19 [12:97] | Qaloo ya abanaistaghfir lana thunoobana inna kunnakhati-eena | قالوا يا أبانا استغفر لنا ذنوبنا إنا كنا خاطئين قَالُواْ يَا أَبَانَا اسْتَغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا خَاطِئِينَ | |||||
| Words | |قالوا - They said,| يا - O| أبانا - "O our father!| استغفر - Ask forgiveness| لنا - for us| ذنوبنا - (of) our sins.| إنا - Indeed, we| كنا - have been| خاطئين - sinners."| | ||||||
| 20 [13:5] | Wa-in taAAjab faAAajabun qawluhum a-ithakunna turaban a-inna lafee khalqin jadeedinola-ika allatheena kafaroo birabbihim waola-ikaal-aghlalu fee aAAnaqihim waola-ika as-habualnnari hum feeha khalidoona | وإن تعجب فعجب قولهم أإذا كنا ترابا أإنا لفي خلق جديد أولئك الذين كفروا بربهم وأولئك الأغلال في أعناقهم وأولئك أصحاب النار هم فيها خالدون وَإِن تَعْجَبْ فَعَجَبٌ قَوْلُهُمْ أَئِذَا كُنَّا تُرَابًا أَئِنَّا لَفِي خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ أُوْلَـئِكَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمْ وَأُوْلَئِكَ الْأَغْلاَلُ فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ وَأُوْلَـئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإن - And if| تعجب - you (are) astonished,| فعجب - then astonishing| قولهم - (is) their saying,| أإذا - "When| كنا - we are| ترابا - dust,| أإنا - will we| لفي - (be) indeed, in| خلق - a creation| جديد - new?"| أولئك - Those| الذين - (are) the ones who| كفروا - disbelieved| بربهم - in their Lord,| وأولئك - and those| الأغلال - the iron chains| في - (will be) in| أعناقهم - their necks,| وأولئك - those| أصحاب - (are the) companions| النار - (of) the Fire,| هم - they| فيها - in it| خالدون - (will) abide forever.| | ||||||
