| 1 [6:43] | Falawla ith jaahumba/suna tadarraAAoo walakin qasat quloobuhumwazayyana lahumu alshshaytanu ma kanooyaAAmaloona |  فلولا إذ جاءهم بأسنا تضرعوا ولكن قست قلوبهم وزين لهم الشيطان ما كانوا يعملونفَلَوْلاَ إِذْ جَاءَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا تَضَرَّعُواْ وَلَـكِن قَسَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فلولا - Then why not| إذ - when| جاءهم - came to them| بأسنا - Our punishment,| تضرعوا - they humbled themselves?| ولكن - But| قست - became hardened| قلوبهم - their hearts| وزين - and made fair-seeming| لهم - to them| الشيطان - the Shaitaan| ما - what| كانوا - they used to| يعملون - do.| | ||||||
| 2 [6:148] | Sayaqoolu allatheena ashrakoo law shaaAllahu ma ashrakna wala abaonawala harramna min shay-in kathalikakaththaba allatheena min qablihim hattathaqoo ba/sana qul hal AAindakum min AAilminfatukhrijoohu lana in tattabiAAoona illa alththannawa-in antum illa takhrusoona | سيقول الذين أشركوا لو شاء الله ما أشركنا ولا آباؤنا ولا حرمنا من شيء كذلك كذب الذين من قبلهم حتى ذاقوا بأسنا قل هل عندكم من علم فتخرجوه لنا إن تتبعون إلا الظن وإن أنتم إلا تخرصون سَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ لَوْ شَاءَ اللّهُ مَا أَشْرَكْنَا وَلاَ آبَاؤُنَا وَلاَ حَرَّمْنَا مِن شَيْءٍ كَذَلِكَ كَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم حَتَّى ذَاقُواْ بَأْسَنَا قُلْ هَلْ عِندَكُم مِّنْ عِلْمٍ فَتُخْرِجُوهُ لَنَا إِن تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلاَّ الظَّنَّ وَإِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلاَّ تَخْرُصُونَ | |||||
| Words | |سيقول - Will say| الذين - those who| أشركوا - associate partners (with Allah),| لو - "If| شاء - Had willed| الله - Allah,| ما - not| أشركنا - we (would) have associated partners (with Allah)| ولا - and not| آباؤنا - our forefathers| ولا - and not| حرمنا - we (would) have forbidden| من - [of]| شيء - anything."| كذلك - Likewise| كذب - denied| الذين - those who| من - (were from)| قبلهم - before them| حتى - until| ذاقوا - they tasted| بأسنا - Our wrath.| قل - Say,| هل - "Is| عندكم - with you| من - [of]| علم - any knowledge| فتخرجوه - then produce it| لنا - for us?| إن - Not| تتبعون - you follow| إلا - except| الظن - the assumption,| وإن - and not| أنتم - you (do)| إلا - but| تخرصون - guess."| | ||||||
| 3 [7:4] | Wakam min qaryatin ahlaknahafajaaha ba/suna bayatan aw hum qa-iloona | وكم من قرية أهلكناها فجاءها بأسنا بياتا أو هم قائلون وَكَم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا فَجَاءَهَا بَأْسُنَا بَيَاتًا أَوْ هُمْ قَآئِلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وكم - And how many| من - of| قرية - a city| أهلكناها - We destroyed it,| فجاءها - and came to it| بأسنا - Our punishment| بياتا - (at) night| أو - or| هم - (while) they| قائلون - were sleeping at noon.| | ||||||
| 4 [7:5] | Fama kana daAAwahum ithjaahum ba/suna illa an qaloo innakunna thalimeena | فما كان دعواهم إذ جاءهم بأسنا إلا أن قالوا إنا كنا ظالمين فَمَا كَانَ دَعْوَاهُمْ إِذْ جَاءَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا إِلاَّ أَن قَالُواْ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ | |||||
| Words | |فما - Then not| كان - was| دعواهم - their plea| إذ - when| جاءهم - came to them| بأسنا - Our punishment| إلا - except| أن - that| قالوا - they said,| إنا - "Indeed, we| كنا - were| ظالمين - wrongdoers."| | ||||||
| 5 [7:97] | Afaamina ahlu alqura an ya/tiyahumba/suna bayatan wahum na-imoona | أفأمن أهل القرى أن يأتيهم بأسنا بياتا وهم نائمون أَفَأَمِنَ أَهْلُ الْقُرَى أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا بَيَاتاً وَهُمْ نَآئِمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |أفأمن - Then did feel secure| أهل - (the) people| القرى - (of) the cities| أن - that| يأتيهم - comes to them| بأسنا - Our punishment| بياتا - (at) night| وهم - while they| نائمون - (were) asleep?| | ||||||
| 6 [7:98] | Awa amina ahlu alqura an ya/tiyahumba/suna duhan wahum yalAAaboona | أوأمن أهل القرى أن يأتيهم بأسنا ضحى وهم يلعبون أَوَ أَمِنَ أَهْلُ الْقُرَى أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا ضُحًى وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ | |||||
| Words | |أوأمن - Or felt secure| أهل - (the) people| القرى - (of) the cities| أن - that| يأتيهم - comes to them| بأسنا - Our punishment| ضحى - (in) daylight| وهم - while they| يلعبون - (were) playing?| | ||||||
| 7 [12:110] | Hatta itha istay-asa alrrusuluwathannoo annahum qad kuthiboo jaahumnasruna fanujjiya man nashao walayuraddu ba/suna AAani alqawmi almujrimeena | حتى إذا استيأس الرسل وظنوا أنهم قد كذبوا جاءهم نصرنا فنجي من نشاء ولا يرد بأسنا عن القوم المجرمين حَتَّى إِذَا اسْتَيْأَسَ الرُّسُلُ وَظَنُّواْ أَنَّهُمْ قَدْ كُذِبُواْ جَاءَهُمْ نَصْرُنَا فَنُجِّيَ مَن نَّشَاءُ وَلاَ يُرَدُّ بَأْسُنَا عَنِ الْقَوْمِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ | |||||
| Words | |حتى - Until| إذا - when| استيأس - gave up hope| الرسل - the Messengers,| وظنوا - and thought| أنهم - that they| قد - certainly| كذبوا - were denied,| جاءهم - then came to them| نصرنا - Our help,| فنجي - and was saved| من - whom| نشاء - We willed.| ولا - And not| يرد - (can) be repelled| بأسنا - Our punishment| عن - from| القوم - the people| المجرمين - (who are) criminals.| | ||||||
| 8 [21:12] | Falamma ahassoo ba/sanaitha hum minha yarkudoona | فلما أحسوا بأسنا إذا هم منها يركضون فَلَمَّا أَحَسُّوا بَأْسَنَا إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَرْكُضُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فلما - Then when| أحسوا - they perceived| بأسنا - Our torment,| إذا - behold,| هم - they| منها - from it| يركضون - were fleeing.| | ||||||
| 9 [40:84] | Falamma raaw ba/sana qalooamanna biAllahi wahdahuwakafarna bima kunna bihi mushrikeena | فلما رأوا بأسنا قالوا آمنا بالله وحده وكفرنا بما كنا به مشركين فَلَمَّا رَأَوْا بَأْسَنَا قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ وَكَفَرْنَا بِمَا كُنَّا بِهِ مُشْرِكِينَ | |||||
| Words | |فلما - So when| رأوا - they saw| بأسنا - Our punishment| قالوا - they said,| آمنا - "We believe| بالله - in Allah| وحده - Alone| وكفرنا - and we disbelieve| بما - in what| كنا - we used to| به - with Him| مشركين - associate."| | ||||||
| 10 [40:85] | Falam yaku yanfaAAuhum eemanuhum lammaraaw ba/sana sunnata Allahi allatee qad khalat feeAAibadihi wakhasira hunalika alkafiroona | فلم يك ينفعهم إيمانهم لما رأوا بأسنا سنت الله التي قد خلت في عباده وخسر هنالك الكافرون فَلَمْ يَكُ يَنفَعُهُمْ إِيْمَانُهُمْ لَمَّا رَأَوْا بَأْسَنَا سُنَّتَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي قَدْ خَلَتْ فِي عِبَادِهِ وَخَسِرَ هُنَالِكَ الْكَافِرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فلم - But did not| يك - But did not| ينفعهم - benefit them| إيمانهم - their faith| لما - when| رأوا - they saw| بأسنا - Our punishment.| سنت - (Such is the) Way| الله - (of) Allah| التي - which| قد - (has) indeed| خلت - preceded| في - among| عباده - His slaves.| وخسر - And are lost| هنالك - there| الكافرون - the disbelievers.| | ||||||
