| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[67:10] | Waqaloo law kunna nasmaAAu awnaAAqilu ma kunna fee as-habi alssaAAeeri
|  وقالوا لو كنا نسمع أو نعقل ما كنا في أصحاب السعير
وَقَالُوا لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِي أَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ |
| Words | |وقالوا - And they will say,| لو - "If| كنا - we had| نسمع - listened| أو - or| نعقل - reasoned,| ما - not| كنا - we (would) have been| في - among| أصحاب - (the) companions| السعير - (of) the Blaze."| |

| «የምንሰማ ወይም የምናስብ በነበርንም ኖሮ በነዳጅ እሳት ጓዶች ውስጥ ባልኾን ነበር» ይላሉ፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { وقالوا لو كنا نسمع } أي سماع تفهم { أو نعقل } أي عقل تفكر { ما كنا في أصحاب السعير } . |
| U nnan: "lemmer nelli nsell ne$ nfehhem, ur nelli seg wat tmes". |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | তারা আরও বলবেঃ যদি আমরা শুনতাম অথবা বুদ্ধি খাটাতাম, তবে আমরা জাহান্নামবাসীদের মধ্যে থাকতাম না। |
| Literal | And they said: "If we were hearing/listening or reasoning/comprehending we would not have been in (between) the blazing's/inflamed's (inferno's) owners/company/friends." |
| Yusuf Ali | They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" |
| Pickthal | And they say: Had we been wont to listen or have sense, we had not been among the dwellers in the flames. |
