| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[40:56] | Inna allatheena yujadiloonafee ayati Allahi bighayri sultanin atahumin fee sudoorihim illa kibrun ma hum bibaligheehifaistaAAith biAllahi innahu huwa alssameeAAualbaseeru
|  إن الذين يجادلون في آيات الله بغير سلطان أتاهم إن في صدورهم إلا كبر ما هم ببالغيه فاستعذ بالله إنه هو السميع البصير
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُجَادِلُونَ فِي آيَاتِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ سُلْطَانٍ أَتَاهُمْ إِن فِي صُدُورِهِمْ إِلَّا كِبْرٌ مَّا هُم بِبَالِغِيهِ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ |

| እነዚያ የመጣላቸው አስረጅ ሳይኖር በአላህ አንቀጾች የሚከራከሩ በልቦቻቸው ውስጥ እነርሱ ደራሾቹ ያልኾኑት ኩራት ብቻ እንጅ ምንም የለም፡፡ በአላህም ተጠበቅ፡፡ እነሆ እርሱ ሰሚው ተመልካቹ ነውና፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { إن الذين يجادلون في آيات الله } القرآن { بغير سلطان } برهان { أتاهم إن } ما { في صدورهم إلا كبْر } تكبّر وطمع أن يعلوا عليك { ما هم ببالغيه فاستعذ } من شرِّهم { بالله إنه هو السميع } لأقوالهم { البصير } بأحوالهم، ونزل في منكري البعث . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | নিশ্চয় যারা আল্লাহর আয়াত সম্পর্কে বিতর্ক করে তাদের কাছে আগত কোন দলীল ব্যতিরেকে, তাদের অন্তরে আছে কেবল আত্নম্ভরিতা, যা অর্জনে তারা সফল হবে না। অতএব, আপনি আল্লাহর আশ্রয় প্রার্থনা করুন। নিশ্চয় তিনি সবকিছু শুনেন, সবকিছু দেখেন। |
| Literal | That truly those who argue/dispute in God's evidences/verses/signs without a proof/evidence/authority (that) came to them, that (E) in the chests (innermosts is) except arrogance/great sin/disbelief and sharing , they are not with reaching it, so seek protection by God, that He truly is the hearing/listening, the seeing/knowing . |

[Lit., "which they will never [be able to] reach" or "fulfill". This is a reference to the conceit which makes many agnostics think that man is "self-sufficient" and that, therefore, there are no limits to what he may yet achieve, and no need to assume that he is responsible to a higher Power. Cf. in this connection 96:6-7, which is one of the earliest Quranic revelations: "Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient." And since this "self-sufficiency" is entirely illusory, those who build their world-view on it "will never be able to satisfy their overweening conceit". (Cf. also the reference to "arrogant, self-exalting hearts" in verse 35 above.)] |
| Khalifa** | Surely, those who argue against GOD's revelations without proof are exposing the arrogance that is hidden inside their chests, and they are not even aware of it. Therefore, seek refuge in GOD; He is the Hearer, the Seer. |
