| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[39:65] | Walaqad oohiya ilayka wa-ilaallatheena min qablika la-in ashrakta layahbatannaAAamaluka walatakoonanna mina alkhasireena
|  ولقد أوحي إليك وإلى الذين من قبلك لئن أشركت ليحبطن عملك ولتكونن من الخاسرين
وَلَقَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيْكَ وَإِلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ لَئِنْ أَشْرَكْتَ لَيَحْبَطَنَّ عَمَلُكَ وَلَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ |
| Words | |ولقد - And verily,| أوحي - it has been revealed| إليك - to you| وإلى - and to| الذين - those who| من - (were) before you,| قبلك - (were) before you,| لئن - if| أشركت - you associate (with Allah)| ليحبطن - surely, will become worthless| عملك - your deeds| ولتكونن - and you will surely be| من - among| الخاسرين - the losers.| |

| ብታጋራ ሥራህ በእርግጥ ይታበሳል፡፡ በእርግጥም ከከሓዲዎቹ ትኾናለህ ማለት ወደ አንተም ወደእነዚያም ካንተ በፊት ወደነበሩት በእርግጥ ተወርዷል፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { ولقد أوحيَ إليك وإلى الذين من قبلك } والله { لئن أشركت } يا محمد فرضا { ليحبطن عملك ولتكوننَّ من الخاسرين } . |
| Ni$ iusa k id uweêêi, u $eô wid i k izwaren. Ma tcurkev, ad mêun igiten ik, a ppiliv seg imexsuôen. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আপনার প্রতি এবং আপনার পূর্ববর্তীদের পতি প্রত্যাদেশ হয়েছে, যদি আল্লাহর শরীক স্থির করেন, তবে আপনার কর্ম নিষ্ফল হবে এবং আপনি ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের একজন হবেন। |
| Literal | And (it) had been (E) inspired/transmitted to you and to those from before you, if (E) you shared/made partners (with God), your deed will be wasted/invalidated (E) , and you will be (E) from the losers . |
| Yusuf Ali | But it has already been revealed to thee,- as it was to those before thee,- "If thou wert to join (gods with Allah), truly fruitless will be thy work (in life), and thou wilt surely be in the ranks of those who lose (all spiritual good)". |
| Pickthal | And verily it hath been revealed unto thee as unto those before thee (saying): If thou ascribe a partner to Allah thy work will fail and thou indeed wilt be among the losers. |

| Asad | And yet, it has already been revealed to thee [O man,] as well as to those who lived before thee, that if thou ever ascribe divine powers to aught but God, all thy works shall most certainly have been in vain: for [in the life to come] thou shalt most certainly be among the lost. [I.e., "it has been conveyed to thee through the divine messages revealed to the prophets". The assumption of almost all the classical commentators that this passage is addressed to Muhammad does not make much sense in view of God's knowledge that neither he nor any of the prophets who came before him would ever commit the deadly sin (referred to in the sequence) of "ascribing divine powers to aught beside God". On the other hand, the above reminder becomes very cogent and relevant as soon as it is conceived as being addressed to man in general, irrespective of time and circumstance.] |
| Khalifa** | It has been revealed to you, and to those before you that if you ever commit idol worship, all your works will be nullified, and you will be with the losers. |
| Hilali/Khan** | And indeed it has been revealed to you (O Muhammad SAW), as it was to those (Allahs Messengers) before you: "If you join others in worship with Allah, (then) surely (all) your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers." |
