| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[27:22] | Famakatha ghayra baAAeedin faqala ahattubima lam tuhit bihi waji/tuka min saba-inbinaba-in yaqeenin
|  فمكث غير بعيد فقال أحطت بما لم تحط به وجئتك من سبإ بنبإ يقين
فَمَكَثَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ فَقَالَ أَحَطتُ بِمَا لَمْ تُحِطْ بِهِ وَجِئْتُكَ مِن سَبَإٍ بِنَبَإٍ يَقِينٍ |
| Words | |فمكث - So he stayed| غير - not| بعيد - long,| فقال - and he said,| أحطت - "I have encompassed| بما - that which| لم - not| تحط - you have encompassed| به - it,| وجئتك - and I have come to you| من - from| سبإ - Saba| بنبإ - with news| يقين - certain.| |

| (ወፉ) ዕሩቅ ያልኾነንም ጊዜ ቆዬ፡፡ አለም «ያላወቅከውን ነገር አወቅኩ፡፡ ከሰበእም እርግጠኛን ወሬ አመጣሁልህ፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { فمكث } بضم الكاف وفتحها { غير بعيد } يسيراً من الزمن وحضر لسليمان متواضعاً برفع رأسه وإرخاء ذنبه وجناحيه فعفا عنه وسأله عما لقي في غيبته { فقال أحَطتُ بما لم تحط به } أي: اطلعت على ما لم تطلع عليه { وجئتك من سبأٍ} بالصرف وتركه، قبيلة باليمن سميت باسم جد لهم باعتباره صرف { بنِبأ } خبر { يقين } . |
| Ur iâaîîel ara. Inna d: "fehme$ ayen ur tefhimev. Usi$ d $uôek si Saba, s usali unûiê. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | কিছুক্ষণ পড়েই হুদ এসে বলল, আপনি যা অবগত নন, আমি তা অবগত হয়েছি। আমি আপনার কাছে সাবা থেকে নিশ্চিত সংবাদ নিয়ে আগমন করেছি। |
| Literal | So it waited/remained not far/distant, so it said: "I became aware/enveloped with what you did not become aware (of)/envelope with it, and I came to you from Sheba with sure/certain news/information." |
| Yusuf Ali | But the Hoopoe tarried not far: he (came up and) said: "I have compassed (territory) which thou hast not compassed, and I have come to thee from Saba with tidings true. |
| Pickthal | But he was not long in coming, and he said: I have found out (a thing) that thou apprehendest not, and I come unto thee from Sheba with sure tidings. |

[Thus, we are parabolically reminded that even the most lowly being can - and on occasion does - have knowledge of things of which even a Solomon in all his wisdom may he ignorant (Razi) - a reminder which ought to counteract the ever-present danger (fitnah) of self-conceit to which learned men, more than anyone else, are exposed (Zamakhshari).
