| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[23:76] | Walaqad akhathnahum bialAAathabifama istakanoo lirabbihim wama yatadarraAAoona
|  ولقد أخذناهم بالعذاب فما استكانوا لربهم وما يتضرعون
وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَاهُم بِالْعَذَابِ فَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ |
| Words | |ولقد - And verily| أخذناهم - We seized them| بالعذاب - with the punishment| فما - but not| استكانوا - they submit| لربهم - to their Lord| وما - and not| يتضرعون - they supplicate humbly| |

| በእርግጥም በቅጣት ያዝናቸው፡፡ ታዲያ ለጌታቸው አልተናነሱም፡፡ አይዋደቁምም፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { ولقد أخذناهم بالعذاب } الجوع { فما استكانوا } تواضعوا { لربهم وما يتضرعون } يرغبون إلى الله بالدعاء . |
| Ni$ Nesâadda fellasen aâaqeb. Ur knan i Mass nnsen, ur nujen. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আমি তাদেরকে শাস্তি দ্বারা পাকড়াও করেছিলাম, কিন্তু তারা তাদের পালনকর্তার সামনে নত হল না এবং কাকুতি-মিনুতিও করল না। |
| Literal | And We had taken/punished them with the torture so they did not become humiliated/disgraced to their Lord, and they do not become humble and humiliate themselves. |
