| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[17:36] | Wala taqfu ma laysa laka bihiAAilmun inna alssamAAa waalbasara waalfu-adakullu ola-ika kana AAanhu mas-oolan
|  ولا تقف ما ليس لك به علم إن السمع والبصر والفؤاد كل أولئك كان عنه مسئولا
وَلاَ تَقْفُ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ إِنَّ السَّمْعَ وَالْبَصَرَ وَالْفُؤَادَ كُلُّ أُولَـئِكَ كَانَ عَنْهُ مَسْؤُولاً |
| Words | |ولا - And (do) not| تقف - pursue| ما - what| ليس - not| لك - you have| به - of it| علم - any knowledge.| إن - Indeed,| السمع - the hearing,| والبصر - and the sight,| والفؤاد - and the heart| كل - all| أولئك - those| كان - will be| عنه - [about it]| مسئولا - questioned.| |

| ለአንተም በርሱ ዕውቀት የሌለህን ነገር አትከተል፡፡ መስሚያ፣ ማያም፣ ልብም እነዚህ ሁሉ (ባለቤታቸው) ከእነሱ ተጠያቂ ነውና፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { ولا تقفُ } تتبع { ما ليس لك به علم إن السمع والبصر والفؤاد } القلب { كل أولئك كان عنه مسؤولاً } صاحبه ماذا فعل به . |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | যে বিষয়ে তোমার কোন জ্ঞান নেই, তার পিছনে পড়ো না। নিশ্চয় কান, চক্ষু ও অন্তঃকরণ এদের প্রত্যেকটিই জিজ্ঞাসিত হবে। |
| Literal | And do not follow the tracks/accuse of evil deeds what knowledge is not for you with it (you have no knowledge of), that the hearing/listening, and the eye sight/knowledge, and the heart , all (of) those are/were about it questioned. |
| Yusuf Ali | And pursue not that of which thou hast no knowledge; for every act of hearing, or of seeing or of (feeling in) the heart will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning). |
