| 1 [19:7] | Ya zakariyya innanubashshiruka bighulamin ismuhu yahya lamnajAAal lahu min qablu samiyyan |  يا زكريا إنا نبشرك بغلام اسمه يحيى لم نجعل له من قبل سميايَا زَكَرِيَّا إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلاَمٍ اسْمُهُ يَحْيَى لَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُ مِن قَبْلُ سَمِيًّا | |||||
| Words | |يا - O| زكريا - "O Zakariya!| إنا - Indeed, We| نبشرك - [We] give you glad tidings| بغلام - of a boy| اسمه - his name| يحيى - (will be) Yahya,| لم - not| نجعل - We (have) assigned| له - [for] it| من - before| قبل - before| سميا - (this) name."| | ||||||
| 2 [19:12] | Ya yahya khuthialkitaba biquwwatin waataynahu alhukmasabiyyan | يا يحيى خذ الكتاب بقوة وآتيناه الحكم صبيا يَا يَحْيَى خُذِ الْكِتَابَ بِقُوَّةٍ وَآتَيْنَاهُ الْحُكْمَ صَبِيًّا | |||||
| Words | |يا - O| يحيى - "O Yahya!| خذ - Hold| الكتاب - the Scripture| بقوة - with strength."| وآتيناه - And We gave him| الحكم - [the] wisdom| صبيا - (when he was) a child| | ||||||
| 3 [20:74] | Innahu man ya/ti rabbahu mujriman fa-innalahu jahannama la yamootu feeha wala yahya | إنه من يأت ربه مجرما فإن له جهنم لا يموت فيها ولا يحيى إِنَّهُ مَن يَأْتِ رَبَّهُ مُجْرِمًا فَإِنَّ لَهُ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَى | |||||
| Words | |إنه - Indeed, he| من - who| يأت - comes| ربه - (to) his Lord| مجرما - (as) a criminal| فإن - then indeed,| له - for him| جهنم - (is) Hell.| لا - Not| يموت - he will die| فيها - in it| ولا - and not| يحيى - live.| | ||||||
| 4 [21:90] | Faistajabna lahu wawahabnalahu yahya waaslahna lahuzawjahu innahum kanoo yusariAAoona fee alkhayratiwayadAAoonana raghaban warahaban wakanoo lanakhashiAAeena | فاستجبنا له ووهبنا له يحيى وأصلحنا له زوجه إنهم كانوا يسارعون في الخيرات ويدعوننا رغبا ورهبا وكانوا لنا خاشعين فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ يَحْيَى وَأَصْلَحْنَا لَهُ زَوْجَهُ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًا وَرَهَبًا وَكَانُوا لَنَا خَاشِعِينَ | |||||
| Words | |فاستجبنا - So We responded| له - to him,| ووهبنا - and We bestowed| له - on him| يحيى - Yahya,| وأصلحنا - and We cured| له - for him| زوجه - his wife.| إنهم - Indeed, they| كانوا - used (to)| يسارعون - hasten| في - in| الخيرات - good deeds,| ويدعوننا - and they supplicate to Us| رغبا - (in) hope| ورهبا - and fear,| وكانوا - and they were| لنا - to Us| خاشعين - humbly submissive.| | ||||||
| 5 [87:13] | Thumma la yamootu feeha walayahya | ثم لا يموت فيها ولا يحيى ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَى | |||||
