| 1 [5:113] | Qaloo nureedu an na/kula minhawatatma-inna quloobuna wanaAAlama an qad sadaqtanawanakoona AAalayha mina alshshahideena |  قالوا نريد أن نأكل منها وتطمئن قلوبنا ونعلم أن قد صدقتنا ونكون عليها من الشاهدينقَالُواْ نُرِيدُ أَن نَّأْكُلَ مِنْهَا وَتَطْمَئِنَّ قُلُوبُنَا وَنَعْلَمَ أَن قَدْ صَدَقْتَنَا وَنَكُونَ عَلَيْهَا مِنَ الشَّاهِدِينَ | |||||
| Words | |قالوا - They said,| نريد - "We wish| أن - that| نأكل - we eat| منها - from it| وتطمئن - and satisfy| قلوبنا - our hearts| ونعلم - and we know| أن - that| قد - certainly| صدقتنا - you have spoken the truth to us| ونكون - and we be| عليها - over it| من - among| الشاهدين - the witnesses.| | ||||||
| 2 [6:27] | Walaw tara ith wuqifoo AAalaalnnari faqaloo ya laytananuraddu wala nukaththiba bi-ayatirabbina wanakoona mina almu/mineena | ولو ترى إذ وقفوا على النار فقالوا يا ليتنا نرد ولا نكذب بآيات ربنا ونكون من المؤمنين وَلَوْ تَرَى إِذْ وُقِفُواْ عَلَى النَّارِ فَقَالُواْ يَا لَيْتَنَا نُرَدُّ وَلاَ نُكَذِّبَ بِآيَاتِ رَبِّنَا وَنَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Words | |ولو - And if| ترى - you (could) see| إذ - when| وقفوا - they are made to stand| على - by| النار - the Fire| فقالوا - then they (will) say,| يا - O| ليتنا - "Oh! Would that we| نرد - were sent back| ولا - and not| نكذب - we would deny| بآيات - (the) Signs| ربنا - (of) our Lord| ونكون - and we would be| من - among| المؤمنين - the believers."| | ||||||
| 3 [28:47] | Walawla an tuseebahum museebatunbima qaddamat aydeehim fayaqooloo rabbana lawlaarsalta ilayna rasoolan fanattabiAAa ayatikawanakoona mina almu/mineena | ولولا أن تصيبهم مصيبة بما قدمت أيديهم فيقولوا ربنا لولا أرسلت إلينا رسولا فنتبع آياتك ونكون من المؤمنين وَلَوْلَا أَن تُصِيبَهُم مُّصِيبَةٌ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُوا رَبَّنَا لَوْلَا أَرْسَلْتَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولًا فَنَتَّبِعَ آيَاتِكَ وَنَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Words | |ولولا - And if not| أن - [that]| تصيبهم - struck them| مصيبة - a disaster| بما - for what| قدمت - had sent forth| أيديهم - their hands| فيقولوا - and they would say,| ربنا - "Our Lord!| لولا - Why not| أرسلت - You sent| إلينا - to us| رسولا - a Messenger| فنتبع - so we (could have) followed| آياتك - Your Verses| ونكون - and we (would) have been| من - of| المؤمنين - the believers?"| | ||||||
