| 1 [2:34] | Wa-ith qulna lilmala-ikatiosjudoo li-adama fasajadoo illa ibleesa abawaistakbara wakana mina alkafireena |  وإذ قلنا للملائكة اسجدوا لآدم فسجدوا إلا إبليس أبى واستكبر وكان من الكافرينوَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلاَئِكَةِ اسْجُدُواْ لِآدَمَ فَسَجَدُواْ إِلاَّ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَى وَاسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قلنا - We said| للملائكة - to the angels,| اسجدوا - "Prostrate| لآدم - to Adam,"| فسجدوا - [so] they prostrated| إلا - except| إبليس - Iblis.| أبى - He refused| واستكبر - and was arrogant| وكان - and became| من - of| الكافرين - the disbelievers.| | ||||||
| 2 [28:39] | Waistakbara huwa wajunooduhu feeal-ardi bighayri alhaqqi wathannooannahum ilayna la yurjaAAoona | واستكبر هو وجنوده في الأرض بغير الحق وظنوا أنهم إلينا لا يرجعون وَاسْتَكْبَرَ هُوَ وَجُنُودُهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا يُرْجَعُونَ | |||||
| Words | |واستكبر - And he was arrogant,| هو - And he was arrogant,| وجنوده - and his hosts| في - in| الأرض - the land| بغير - without| الحق - right,| وظنوا - and they thought| أنهم - that they| إلينا - to Us| لا - not| يرجعون - will be returned.| | ||||||
