| 1 [20:71] | Qala amantum lahu qabla an athanalakum innahu lakabeerukumu allathee AAallamakumu alssihrafalaoqattiAAanna aydiyakum waarjulakum min khilafinwalaosallibannakum fee juthooAAi alnnakhliwalataAAlamunna ayyuna ashaddu AAathaban waabqa |  قال آمنتم له قبل أن آذن لكم إنه لكبيركم الذي علمكم السحر فلأقطعن أيديكم وأرجلكم من خلاف ولأصلبنكم في جذوع النخل ولتعلمن أينا أشد عذابا وأبقىقَالَ آمَنتُمْ لَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ آذَنَ لَكُمْ إِنَّهُ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ الَّذِي عَلَّمَكُمُ السِّحْرَ فَلَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَافٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ فِي جُذُوعِ النَّخْلِ وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ أَيُّنَا أَشَدُّ عَذَابًا وَأَبْقَى | |||||
| Words | |قال - He said,| آمنتم - "You believe| له - [to] him| قبل - before| أن - [that]| آذن - I gave permission| لكم - to you.| إنه - Indeed, he| لكبيركم - (is) your chief,| الذي - the one who| علمكم - taught you| السحر - the magic.| فلأقطعن - So surely I will cut off| أيديكم - your hands| وأرجلكم - and your feet| من - of| خلاف - opposite sides,| ولأصلبنكم - and surely I will crucify you| في - on| جذوع - (the) trunks| النخل - (of) date-palms| ولتعلمن - and surely you will know| أينا - which of us| أشد - (is) more severe| عذابا - (in) punishment| وأبقى - and more lasting."| | ||||||
| 2 [20:73] | Inna amanna birabbinaliyaghfira lana khatayana wamaakrahtana AAalayhi mina alssihri waAllahukhayrun waabqa | إنا آمنا بربنا ليغفر لنا خطايانا وما أكرهتنا عليه من السحر والله خير وأبقى إِنَّا آمَنَّا بِرَبِّنَا لِيَغْفِرَ لَنَا خَطَايَانَا وَمَا أَكْرَهْتَنَا عَلَيْهِ مِنَ السِّحْرِ وَاللَّهُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى | |||||
| Words | |إنا - Indeed, [we]| آمنا - we believe| بربنا - in our Lord| ليغفر - that He may forgive| لنا - for us| خطايانا - our sins| وما - and what| أكرهتنا - you compelled us| عليه - on it| من - of| السحر - the magic.| والله - And Allah| خير - (is) Best| وأبقى - and Ever Lasting."| | ||||||
| 3 [20:127] | Wakathalika najzee man asrafa walamyu/min bi-ayati rabbihi walaAAathabu al-akhiratiashaddu waabqa | وكذلك نجزي من أسرف ولم يؤمن بآيات ربه ولعذاب الآخرة أشد وأبقى وَكَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي مَنْ أَسْرَفَ وَلَمْ يُؤْمِن بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَشَدُّ وَأَبْقَى | |||||
| Words | |وكذلك - And thus| نجزي - We recompense| من - (he) who| أسرف - transgresses,| ولم - and not| يؤمن - believes| بآيات - in (the) Signs| ربه - (of) his Lord.| ولعذاب - And surely (the) punishment| الآخرة - (of) the Hereafter| أشد - (is) more severe| وأبقى - and more lasting.| | ||||||
| 4 [20:131] | Wala tamuddanna AAaynayka ilama mattaAAna bihi azwajan minhum zahrata alhayatialddunya linaftinahum feehi warizqu rabbika khayrunwaabqa | ولا تمدن عينيك إلى ما متعنا به أزواجا منهم زهرة الحياة الدنيا لنفتنهم فيه ورزق ربك خير وأبقى وَلَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَى مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجًا مِّنْهُمْ زَهْرَةَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنيَا لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيهِ وَرِزْقُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى | |||||
| Words | |ولا - And (do) not| تمدن - extend| عينيك - your eyes| إلى - towards| ما - what| متعنا - We have given for enjoyment| به - [with it],| أزواجا - pairs| منهم - of them| زهرة - (the) splendor| الحياة - (of) the life| الدنيا - (of) the world,| لنفتنهم - that We may test them| فيه - in it.| ورزق - And (the) provision| ربك - (of) your Lord| خير - (is) better| وأبقى - and more lasting.| | ||||||
| 5 [28:60] | Wama ooteetum min shay-in famataAAualhayati alddunya wazeenatuhawama AAinda Allahi khayrun waabqa afalataAAqiloona | وما أوتيتم من شيء فمتاع الحياة الدنيا وزينتها وما عند الله خير وأبقى أفلا تعقلون وَمَا أُوتِيتُم مِّن شَيْءٍ فَمَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتُهَا وَمَا عِندَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وما - And whatever| أوتيتم - you have been given| من - from| شيء - things,| فمتاع - (is) an enjoyment| الحياة - (of the) life| الدنيا - (of) the world| وزينتها - and its adornment.| وما - And what| عند - (is) with| الله - Allah,| خير - (is) better| وأبقى - and more lasting.| أفلا - So (will) not| تعقلون - you use intellect?| | ||||||
| 6 [42:36] | Fama ooteetum min shay-in famataAAualhayati alddunya wama AAindaAllahi khayrun waabqa lillatheena amanoowaAAala rabbihim yatawakkaloona | فما أوتيتم من شيء فمتاع الحياة الدنيا وما عند الله خير وأبقى للذين آمنوا وعلى ربهم يتوكلون فَمَا أُوتِيتُم مِّن شَيْءٍ فَمَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا عِندَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فما - So whatever| أوتيتم - you are given| من - of| شيء - a thing,| فمتاع - (is) but a passing enjoyment| الحياة - (for) the life| الدنيا - (of) the world.| وما - But what| عند - (is) with| الله - Allah| خير - (is) better| وأبقى - and more lasting| للذين - for those who| آمنوا - believe| وعلى - and upon| ربهم - their Lord| يتوكلون - put (their) trust.| | ||||||
| 7 [87:17] | Waal-akhiratu khayrun waabqa | والآخرة خير وأبقى وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى | |||||
