| 1 [4:153] | Yas-aluka ahlu alkitabi an tunazzilaAAalayhim kitaban mina alssama-i faqadsaaloo moosa akbara min thalika faqaloo arinaAllaha jahratan faakhathat-humu alssaAAiqatubithulmihim thumma ittakhathoo alAAijla minbaAAdi ma jaat-humu albayyinatu faAAafawnaAAan thalika waatayna moosa sultananmubeenan |  يسألك أهل الكتاب أن تنزل عليهم كتابا من السماء فقد سألوا موسى أكبر من ذلك فقالوا أرنا الله جهرة فأخذتهم الصاعقة بظلمهم ثم اتخذوا العجل من بعد ما جاءتهم البينات فعفونا عن ذلك وآتينا موسى سلطانا مبينايَسْأَلُكَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ أَن تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ كِتَابًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ فَقَدْ سَأَلُواْ مُوسَى أَكْبَرَ مِن ذَلِكَ فَقَالُواْ أَرِنَا اللّهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ بِظُلْمِهِمْ ثُمَّ اتَّخَذُواْ الْعِجْلَ مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنَاتُ فَعَفَوْنَا عَن ذَلِكَ وَآتَيْنَا مُوسَى سُلْطَانًا مُّبِينًا | |||||
| Words | |يسألك - Ask you| أهل - (the) People| الكتاب - (of) the Book| أن - that| تنزل - you bring down| عليهم - to them| كتابا - a book| من - from| السماء - the heaven.| فقد - Then indeed,| سألوا - they (had) asked| موسى - Musa| أكبر - greater| من - than| ذلك - that| فقالوا - for they said,| أرنا - "Show us| الله - Allah| جهرة - manifestly,"| فأخذتهم - so struck them| الصاعقة - the thunderbolt| بظلمهم - for their wrongdoing.| ثم - Then| اتخذوا - they took| العجل - the calf (for worship)| من - from| بعد - after| ما - [what]| جاءتهم - came to them| البينات - the clear proofs,| فعفونا - then We forgave them| عن - for| ذلك - that.| وآتينا - And We gave| موسى - Musa| سلطانا - an authority| مبينا - clear.| | ||||||
| 2 [5:57] | Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola tattakhithoo allatheena ittakhathoodeenakum huzuwan walaAAiban mina allatheena ootoo alkitabamin qablikum waalkuffara awliyaa waittaqooAllaha in kuntum mu/mineena | يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا تتخذوا الذين اتخذوا دينكم هزوا ولعبا من الذين أوتوا الكتاب من قبلكم والكفار أولياء واتقوا الله إن كنتم مؤمنين يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ لاَ تَتَّخِذُواْ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُواْ دِينَكُمْ هُزُوًا وَلَعِبًا مِّنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ الْكِتَابَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ وَالْكُفَّارَ أَوْلِيَاءَ وَاتَّقُواْ اللّهَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ | |||||

| 3 [6:70] | Wathari allatheena ittakhathoodeenahum laAAiban walahwan wagharrat-humu alhayatualddunya wathakkir bihi an tubsala nafsunbima kasabat laysa laha min dooni Allahiwaliyyun wala shafeeAAun wa-in taAAdil kulla AAadlin layu/khath minha ola-ika allatheenaobsiloo bima kasaboo lahum sharabun min hameeminwaAAathabun aleemun bima kanoo yakfuroona | وذر الذين اتخذوا دينهم لعبا ولهوا وغرتهم الحياة الدنيا وذكر به أن تبسل نفس بما كسبت ليس لها من دون الله ولي ولا شفيع وإن تعدل كل عدل لا يؤخذ منها أولئك الذين أبسلوا بما كسبوا لهم شراب من حميم وعذاب أليم بما كانوا يكفرون وَذَرِ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُواْ دِينَهُمْ لَعِبًا وَلَهْوًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا وَذَكِّرْ بِهِ أَن تُبْسَلَ نَفْسٌ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ لَيْسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ اللّهِ وَلِيٌّ وَلاَ شَفِيعٌ وَإِن تَعْدِلْ كُلَّ عَدْلٍ لاَّ يُؤْخَذْ مِنْهَا أُوْلَـئِكَ الَّذِينَ أُبْسِلُواْ بِمَا كَسَبُواْ لَهُمْ شَرَابٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ وَعَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْفُرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وذر - And leave| الذين - those who| اتخذوا - take| دينهم - their religion| لعبا - (as) a play| ولهوا - and amusement| وغرتهم - and deluded them| الحياة - the life| الدنيا - (of) the world.| وذكر - But remind| به - with it,| أن - lest| تبسل - is given up to destruction| نفس - a soul| بما - for what| كسبت - it (has) earned,| ليس - not| لها - (is) for it| من - from| دون - besides| الله - Allah| ولي - any protector| ولا - and not| شفيع - any intercessor.| وإن - And if| تعدل - it offers ransom -| كل - every| عدل - ransom,| لا - not| يؤخذ - will it be taken| منها - from it.| أولئك - Those| الذين - (are) ones who| أبسلوا - are given to destruction| بما - for what| كسبوا - they earned.| لهم - For them| شراب - (will be) a drink| من - of| حميم - boiling water| وعذاب - and a punishment| أليم - painful| بما - because| كانوا - they used to| يكفرون - disbelieve.| | ||||||
| 4 [7:30] | Fareeqan hada wafareeqan haqqaAAalayhimu alddalalatu innahumu ittakhathooalshshayateena awliyaa min dooni Allahiwayahsaboona annahum muhtadoona | فريقا هدى وفريقا حق عليهم الضلالة إنهم اتخذوا الشياطين أولياء من دون الله ويحسبون أنهم مهتدون فَرِيقًا هَدَى وَفَرِيقًا حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الضَّلاَلَةُ إِنَّهُمُ اتَّخَذُوا الشَّيَاطِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِن دُونِ اللّهِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فريقا - A group| هدى - He guided| وفريقا - and a group| حق - deserved -| عليهم - [on] they| الضلالة - the astraying.| إنهم - Indeed, they| اتخذوا - take| الشياطين - the devils| أولياء - (as) allies| من - from| دون - besides| الله - Allah| ويحسبون - while they think| أنهم - that they| مهتدون - (are the) guided-ones.| | ||||||
| 5 [7:51] | Allatheena ittakhathoodeenahum lahwan walaAAiban wagharrat-humu alhayatualddunya faalyawma nansahum kamanasoo liqaa yawmihim hatha wama kanoobi-ayatina yajhadoona | الذين اتخذوا دينهم لهوا ولعبا وغرتهم الحياة الدنيا فاليوم ننساهم كما نسوا لقاء يومهم هذا وما كانوا بآياتنا يجحدون الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُواْ دِينَهُمْ لَهْوًا وَلَعِبًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا فَالْيَوْمَ نَنسَاهُمْ كَمَا نَسُواْ لِقَاءَ يَوْمِهِمْ هَـذَا وَمَا كَانُواْ بِآيَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |الذين - Those who| اتخذوا - took| دينهم - their religion| لهوا - (as) an amusement| ولعبا - and play| وغرتهم - and deluded them| الحياة - the life| الدنيا - (of) the world."| فاليوم - So today| ننساهم - We forget them| كما - as| نسوا - they forgot| لقاء - (the) meeting| يومهم - (of) their day,| هذا - this,| وما - and [what]| كانوا - (as) they used to| بآياتنا - with Our Verses| يجحدون - they reject.| | ||||||
| 6 [7:152] | Inna allatheena ittakhathooalAAijla sayanaluhum ghadabun min rabbihim wathillatunfee alhayati alddunya wakathalikanajzee almuftareena | إن الذين اتخذوا العجل سينالهم غضب من ربهم وذلة في الحياة الدنيا وكذلك نجزي المفترين إِنَّ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُواْ الْعِجْلَ سَيَنَالُهُمْ غَضَبٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَذِلَّةٌ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَكَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُفْتَرِينَ | |||||
| Words | |إن - Indeed,| الذين - those who| اتخذوا - took| العجل - the calf,| سينالهم - will reach them| غضب - wrath| من - from| ربهم - their Lord,| وذلة - and humiliation| في - in| الحياة - the life| الدنيا - (of) the world.| وكذلك - And thus| نجزي - We recompense| المفترين - the ones who invent (falsehood).| | ||||||
| 7 [9:31] | Ittakhathoo ahbarahumwaruhbanahum arbaban min dooni Allahi waalmaseehaibna maryama wama omiroo illa liyaAAbudoo ilahanwahidan la ilaha illa huwa subhanahuAAamma yushrikoona | اتخذوا أحبارهم ورهبانهم أربابا من دون الله والمسيح ابن مريم وما أمروا إلا ليعبدوا إلها واحدا لا إله إلا هو سبحانه عما يشركون اتَّخَذُواْ أَحْبَارَهُمْ وَرُهْبَانَهُمْ أَرْبَابًا مِّن دُونِ اللّهِ وَالْمَسِيحَ ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَمَا أُمِرُواْ إِلاَّ لِيَعْبُدُواْ إِلَـهًا وَاحِدًا لاَّ إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ سُبْحَانَهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ | |||||
| Words | |اتخذوا - They have taken| أحبارهم - their rabbis| ورهبانهم - and their monks| أربابا - (as) Lords| من - besides| دون - besides| الله - Allah| والمسيح - and the Messiah,| ابن - son| مريم - (of) Maryam.| وما - And not| أمروا - they were commanded| إلا - except| ليعبدوا - that they worship| إلها - One God.| واحدا - One God.| لا - (There) is no| إله - god| إلا - except| هو - Him.| سبحانه - Glory be to Him| عما - from what| يشركون - they associate (with Him).| | ||||||
| 8 [9:107] | Waallatheena ittakhathoomasjidan diraran wakufran watafreeqan baynaalmu/mineena wa-irsadan liman haraba Allahawarasoolahu min qablu walayahlifunna in aradna illaalhusna waAllahu yashhadu innahum lakathiboona | والذين اتخذوا مسجدا ضرارا وكفرا وتفريقا بين المؤمنين وإرصادا لمن حارب الله ورسوله من قبل وليحلفن إن أردنا إلا الحسنى والله يشهد إنهم لكاذبون وَالَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُواْ مَسْجِدًا ضِرَارًا وَكُفْرًا وَتَفْرِيقًا بَيْنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَإِرْصَادًا لِّمَنْ حَارَبَ اللّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَيَحْلِفُنَّ إِنْ أَرَدْنَا إِلاَّ الْحُسْنَى وَاللّهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ | |||||
| Words | |والذين - And those who| اتخذوا - take| مسجدا - a masjid| ضرارا - (for causing) harm| وكفرا - and (for) disbelief,| وتفريقا - and (for) division| بين - among| المؤمنين - the believers,| وإرصادا - and (as) a station| لمن - for whoever| حارب - warred| الله - (against) Allah| ورسوله - and His Messenger| من - before.| قبل - before.| وليحلفن - And surely they will swear,| إن - "Not| أردنا - we wish| إلا - except| الحسنى - the good."| والله - But Allah| يشهد - bears witness| إنهم - indeed, they| لكاذبون - (are) surely liars.| | ||||||
| 9 [18:15] | Haola-i qawmuna ittakhathoomin doonihi alihatan lawla ya/toona AAalayhim bisultaninbayyinin faman athlamu mimmani iftara AAalaAllahi kathiban | هؤلاء قومنا اتخذوا من دونه آلهة لولا يأتون عليهم بسلطان بين فمن أظلم ممن افترى على الله كذبا هَؤُلاَءِ قَوْمُنَا اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ آلِهَةً لَّوْلاَ يَأْتُونَ عَلَيْهِم بِسُلْطَانٍ بَيِّنٍ فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَى عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا | |||||
| Words | |هؤلاء - These,| قومنا - our people,| اتخذوا - have taken| من - besides Him| دونه - besides Him| آلهة - gods.| لولا - Why not| يأتون - they come| عليهم - to them| بسلطان - with an authority| بين - clear?| فمن - And who| أظلم - (is) more wrong| ممن - than (one) who| افترى - invents| على - against| الله - Allah| كذبا - a lie?| | ||||||
| 10 [21:21] | Ami ittakhathoo alihatan minaal-ardi hum yunshiroona | أم اتخذوا آلهة من الأرض هم ينشرون أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا آلِهَةً مِّنَ الْأَرْضِ هُمْ يُنشِرُونَ | |||||

| 11 [21:24] | Ami ittakhathoo min doonihi alihatanqul hatoo burhanakum hatha thikru manmaAAiya wathikru man qablee bal aktharuhum layaAAlamoona alhaqqa fahum muAAridoona | أم اتخذوا من دونه آلهة قل هاتوا برهانكم هذا ذكر من معي وذكر من قبلي بل أكثرهم لا يعلمون الحق فهم معرضون أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ آلِهَةً قُلْ هَاتُوا بُرْهَانَكُمْ هَذَا ذِكْرُ مَن مَّعِيَ وَذِكْرُ مَن قَبْلِي بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ الْحَقَّ فَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ | |||||

| 12 [25:30] | Waqala alrrasoolu yarabbi inna qawmee ittakhathoo hatha alqur-anamahjooran | وقال الرسول يا رب إن قومي اتخذوا هذا القرآن مهجورا وَقَالَ الرَّسُولُ يَا رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِي اتَّخَذُوا هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ مَهْجُورًا | |||||
| Words | |وقال - And said| الرسول - the Messenger,| يا - O| رب - "O my Lord!| إن - Indeed,| قومي - my people| اتخذوا - took| هذا - this| القرآن - the Quran| مهجورا - (as) a forsaken thing."| | ||||||
| 13 [29:41] | Mathalu allatheena ittakhathoomin dooni Allahi awliyaa kamathali alAAankabootiittakhathat baytan wa-inna awhana albuyooti labaytualAAankabooti law kanoo yaAAlamoona | مثل الذين اتخذوا من دون الله أولياء كمثل العنكبوت اتخذت بيتا وإن أوهن البيوت لبيت العنكبوت لو كانوا يعلمون مَثَلُ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ كَمَثَلِ الْعَنكَبُوتِ اتَّخَذَتْ بَيْتًا وَإِنَّ أَوْهَنَ الْبُيُوتِ لَبَيْتُ الْعَنكَبُوتِ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ | |||||

| 14 [39:3] | Ala lillahi alddeenualkhalisu waallatheena ittakhathoomin doonihi awliyaa ma naAAbuduhum illaliyuqarriboona ila Allahi zulfa innaAllaha yahkumu baynahum fee ma hum feehiyakhtalifoona inna Allaha la yahdee man huwa kathibunkaffarun | ألا لله الدين الخالص والذين اتخذوا من دونه أولياء ما نعبدهم إلا ليقربونا إلى الله زلفى إن الله يحكم بينهم في ما هم فيه يختلفون إن الله لا يهدي من هو كاذب كفار أَلَا لِلَّهِ الدِّينُ الْخَالِصُ وَالَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ مَا نَعْبُدُهُمْ إِلَّا لِيُقَرِّبُونَا إِلَى اللَّهِ زُلْفَى إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ فِي مَا هُمْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي مَنْ هُوَ كَاذِبٌ كَفَّارٌ | |||||
| Words | |ألا - Unquestionably,| لله - for Allah| الدين - (is) the religion| الخالص - the pure.| والذين - And those who| اتخذوا - take| من - besides Him| دونه - besides Him| أولياء - protectors,| ما - "Not| نعبدهم - we worship them| إلا - except| ليقربونا - that they may bring us near| إلى - to| الله - Allah| زلفى - (in) nearness."| إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| يحكم - will judge| بينهم - between them| في - in| ما - what| هم - they| فيه - [in it]| يختلفون - differ.| إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| لا - (does) not| يهدي - guide| من - (one) who| هو - [he]| كاذب - (is) a liar| كفار - and a disbeliever.| | ||||||
| 15 [39:43] | Ami ittakhathoo min dooni AllahishufaAAaa qul awa law kanoo la yamlikoonashay-an wala yaAAqiloona | أم اتخذوا من دون الله شفعاء قل أولو كانوا لا يملكون شيئا ولا يعقلون أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ شُفَعَاءَ قُلْ أَوَلَوْ كَانُوا لَا يَمْلِكُونَ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ | |||||

| 16 [42:6] | Waallatheena ittakhathoomin doonihi awliyaa Allahu hafeethunAAalayhim wama anta AAalayhim biwakeelin | والذين اتخذوا من دونه أولياء الله حفيظ عليهم وما أنت عليهم بوكيل وَالَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ أَولِيَاءَ اللَّهُ حَفِيظٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَمَا أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِوَكِيلٍ | |||||

| 17 [42:9] | Ami ittakhathoo min doonihi awliyaafaAllahu huwa alwaliyyu wahuwa yuhyee almawtawahuwa AAala kulli shay-in qadeerun | أم اتخذوا من دونه أولياء فالله هو الولي وهو يحيي الموتى وهو على كل شيء قدير أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ فَاللَّهُ هُوَ الْوَلِيُّ وَهُوَ يُحْيِي المَوْتَى وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ | |||||
| Words | |أم - Or| اتخذوا - have they taken| من - besides Him| دونه - besides Him| أولياء - protectors?| فالله - But Allah -| هو - He| الولي - (is) the Protector,| وهو - and He| يحيي - gives life| الموتى - (to) the dead.| وهو - And He| على - (is) on| كل - every| شيء - thing| قدير - All-Powerful.| | ||||||
| 18 [45:10] | Min wara-ihim jahannamu walayughnee AAanhum ma kasaboo shay-an wala maittakhathoo min dooni Allahi awliyaa walahumAAathabun AAatheemun | من ورائهم جهنم ولا يغني عنهم ما كسبوا شيئا ولا ما اتخذوا من دون الله أولياء ولهم عذاب عظيم مِن وَرَائِهِمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَلَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُم مَّا كَسَبُوا شَيْئًا وَلَا مَا اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |من - Before them| ورائهم - Before them| جهنم - (is) Hell| ولا - and not| يغني - will avail| عنهم - them| ما - what| كسبوا - they had earned| شيئا - anything,| ولا - and not| ما - what| اتخذوا - they had taken| من - besides| دون - besides| الله - Allah| أولياء - (as) protectors.| ولهم - And for them| عذاب - (is) a punishment| عظيم - great.| | ||||||
| 19 [46:28] | Falawla nasarahumu allatheenaittakhathoo min dooni Allahi qurbanan alihatanbal dalloo AAanhum wathalika ifkuhum wama kanooyaftaroona | فلولا نصرهم الذين اتخذوا من دون الله قربانا آلهة بل ضلوا عنهم وذلك إفكهم وما كانوا يفترون فَلَوْلَا نَصَرَهُمُ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ قُرْبَانًا آلِهَةً بَلْ ضَلُّوا عَنْهُمْ وَذَلِكَ إِفْكُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فلولا - Then why (did) not| نصرهم - help them| الذين - those whom| اتخذوا - they had taken| من - besides| دون - besides| الله - Allah| قربانا - gods as a way of approach?| آلهة - gods as a way of approach?| بل - Nay,| ضلوا - they were lost| عنهم - from them.| وذلك - And that| إفكهم - (was) their falsehood| وما - and what| كانوا - they were| يفترون - inventing.| | ||||||
