| 1 [7:4] | Wakam min qaryatin ahlaknahafajaaha ba/suna bayatan aw hum qa-iloona |  وكم من قرية أهلكناها فجاءها بأسنا بياتا أو هم قائلونوَكَم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا فَجَاءَهَا بَأْسُنَا بَيَاتًا أَوْ هُمْ قَآئِلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وكم - And how many| من - of| قرية - a city| أهلكناها - We destroyed it,| فجاءها - and came to it| بأسنا - Our punishment| بياتا - (at) night| أو - or| هم - (while) they| قائلون - were sleeping at noon.| | ||||||
| 2 [21:6] | Ma amanat qablahum min qaryatinahlaknaha afahum yu/minoona | ما آمنت قبلهم من قرية أهلكناها أفهم يؤمنون مَا آمَنَتْ قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا أَفَهُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ما - Not| آمنت - believed| قبلهم - before them| من - any| قرية - town| أهلكناها - which We destroyed,| أفهم - so will they| يؤمنون - believe?| | ||||||
| 3 [21:95] | Waharamun AAalaqaryatin ahlaknaha annahum la yarjiAAoona | وحرام على قرية أهلكناها أنهم لا يرجعون وَحَرَامٌ عَلَى قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا أَنَّهُمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وحرام - And (there is) prohibition| على - upon| قرية - a city| أهلكناها - which We have destroyed,| أنهم - that they| لا - not| يرجعون - will return.| | ||||||
| 4 [22:45] | Fakaayyin min qaryatin ahlaknahawahiya thalimatun fahiya khawiyatunAAala AAurooshiha wabi/rin muAAattalatinwaqasrin masheedin | فكأين من قرية أهلكناها وهي ظالمة فهي خاوية على عروشها وبئر معطلة وقصر مشيد فَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٌ فَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَى عُرُوشِهَا وَبِئْرٍ مُّعَطَّلَةٍ وَقَصْرٍ مَّشِيدٍ | |||||
| Words | |فكأين - And how many| من - of| قرية - a township| أهلكناها - We have destroyed it,| وهي - while it| ظالمة - was doing wrong,| فهي - so it| خاوية - fell| على - on| عروشها - its roofs,| وبئر - and well| معطلة - abandoned,| وقصر - and castle| مشيد - lofty.| | ||||||
