| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[79:40] | Waama man khafa maqamarabbihi wanaha alnnafsa AAani alhawa
|  وأما من خاف مقام ربه ونهى النفس عن الهوى
وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ وَنَهَى النَّفْسَ عَنِ الْهَوَى |
| Words | |وأما - But as for| من - (him) who| خاف - feared| مقام - standing| ربه - (before) his Lord,| ونهى - and restrained| النفس - his soul| عن - from| الهوى - the vain desires,| |

| በጌታው ፊት መቆምን የፈራ ሰውማ ነፍሱንም ከዝንባሌዋ የከለከለ |
| آل الجلالين | { وأما من خاف مقام ربه } قيامه بين يديه { ونهى النفس } الأمارة { عن الهوى } المردي باتباع الشهوات. |

| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | পক্ষান্তরে যে ব্যক্তি তার পালনকর্তার সামনে দন্ডায়মান হওয়াকে ভয় করেছে এবং খেয়াল-খুশী থেকে নিজেকে নিবৃত্ত রেখেছে, |
| Literal | And but who feared his Lord's position/status and he forbid/prevented the self from the self attraction for desire . |
| Yusuf Ali | And for such as had entertained the fear of standing before their Lord's (tribunal) and had restrained (their) soul from lower desires, |
| Pickthal | But as for him who feared to stand before his Lord and restrained his soul from lust, |
