1 [5:5] | Alyawma ohilla lakumu alttayyibatuwataAAamu allatheena ootoo alkitaba hillunlakum wataAAamukum hillun lahum waalmuhsanatumina almu/minati waalmuhsanatu minaallatheena ootoo alkitaba min qablikum itha ataytumoohunnaojoorahunna muhsineena ghayra musafiheenawala muttakhithee akhdanin waman yakfur bial-eemanifaqad habita AAamaluhu wahuwa fee al-akhiratimina alkhasireena
| اليوم أحل لكم الطيبات وطعام الذين أوتوا الكتاب حل لكم وطعامكم حل لهم والمحصنات من المؤمنات والمحصنات من الذين أوتوا الكتاب من قبلكم إذا آتيتموهن أجورهن محصنين غير مسافحين ولا متخذي أخدان ومن يكفر بالإيمان فقد حبط عمله وهو في الآخرة من الخاسرين الْيَوْمَ أُحِلَّ لَكُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتُ وَطَعَامُ الَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ الْكِتَابَ حِلٌّ لَّكُمْ وَطَعَامُكُمْ حِلٌّ لَّهُمْ وَالْمُحْصَنَاتُ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَالْمُحْصَنَاتُ مِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ الْكِتَابَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ إِذَا آتَيْتُمُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ مُحْصِنِينَ غَيْرَ مُسَافِحِينَ وَلاَ مُتَّخِذِي أَخْدَانٍ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِالْإِيمَانِ فَقَدْ حَبِطَ عَمَلُهُ وَهُوَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ |

| ዛሬ መልካሞች ሁሉ ለናንተ ተፈቀዱ፡፡ የእነዚያም መጽሐፍን የተሰጡት ሰዎች ምግብ (ያረዱት) ለእናንተ የተፈቀደ ነው፡፡ ምግባችሁም ለነሱ የተፈቀደ ነው፡፡ ከምእመናት ጥብቆቹም ከእነዚያ ከእናንተ በፊት መጽሐፍን ከተሰጡት ሴቶች ጥብቆቹም፤ ዘማዊዎችና (ዝሙተኞች) የምስጢር ወዳጅ ያዢዎች ሳትኾኑ ጥብቆች ኾናችሁ መህሮቻቸውን በሰጣችኋቸው ጊዜ (ልታገቡዋቸው የተፈቀዱ ናቸው)፡፡ ከእምነትም የሚመለስ ሰው በእርግጥ ሥራው ተበላሸ፡፡ በመጨረሻም ቀን እርሱ ከከሳሪዎቹ ነው፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { اليوم أحل لكم الطيبات } المستلذات { وطعام الذين أوتوا الكتاب } أي ذبائح اليهود والنصارى { حلٌ } حلال { لكم وطعامكم } إياهم { حل لهم والمحصنات من المؤمنات والمحصنات } الحرائر { من الذين أوتوا الكتاب من قبلكم } حل لكم أن تنكحوهن { إذا آتيتموهنَّ أجورهنَّ } مهورهنَّ { محصنين } متزوجين { غير مسافحين } معلنين بالزنا بهن { ولا متخذي أخدان } منهن تسرون بالزنا بهن { ومن يكفر بالإيمان } أي يرتد { فقد حبط عمله } الصالح قبل ذلك فلا يعتد به ولا يثاب عليه { وهو في الآخرة من الخاسرين } إذا مات عليه . |
| Assa, iêell awen wayen imaânen. Iêell awen lqut n wid iwumi teppunefk Tezmamt, - iêell asen lqut nnwen -; tilawin tiêuôiyin iumnen, tilawin tiêuôiyin seg wid iwumi teppunefk Tezmamt, uqbel nnwen, ma tefkam asent tuççit nnsent; d uwqimen maççi d ucmiten, ur teppeddum d temddukwal. Win iugin liman, mêan igiten is. Neppa, di laxeôt, seg imexsuôen. |
মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আজ তোমাদের জন্য পবিত্র বস্তুসমূহ হালাল করা হল। আহলে কিতাবদের খাদ্য তোমাদের জন্যে হালাল এবং তোমাদের খাদ্য তাদের জন্য হালাল। তোমাদের জন্যে হালাল সতী-সাধ্বী মুসলমান নারী এবং তাদের সতী-সাধ্বী নারী, যাদেরকে কিতাব দেয়া হয়েছে তোমাদের পূর্বে, যখন তোমরা তাদেরকে মোহরানা প্রদান কর তাদেরকে স্ত্রী করার জন্যে, কামবাসনা চরিতার্থ করার জন্যে কিংবা গুপ্ত প্রেমে লিপ্ত হওয়ার জন্যে নয়। যে ব্যক্তি বিশ্বাসের বিষয় অবিশ্বাস করে, তার শ্রম বিফলে যাবে এবং পরকালে সে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হবে। |
Literal | Today is permitted/allowed for you the goodnesses, and those who were given The Book's food is permitted/allowed for you, and your food is permitted/allowed for them, and the chaste (F) from the believers (F), and the chaste (F) from those who were given The Book from before you, if you gave them (F) their (F) fees (dowries), marrying not fornicating/adulterating, and not taking friends/lovers , and who disbelieves with the faith/belief, so his deed had wasted/failed, and he (is) in the end (other life) from the losers . |
Yusuf Ali | This day are (all) things good and pure made lawful unto you. The food of the People of the Book is lawful unto you and yours is lawful unto them. (Lawful unto you in marriage) are (not only) chaste women who are believers, but chaste women among the People of the Book, revealed before your time,- when ye give them their due dowers, and desire chastity, not lewdness, nor secret intrigues if any one rejects faith, fruitless is his work, and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (all spiritual good). |
Pickthal | This day are (all) good things made lawful for you. The food of those who have received the Scripture is lawful for you, and your food is lawful for them. And so are the virtuous women of the believers and the virtuous women of those who received the Scripture before you (lawful for you) when ye give them their marriage portions and live with them in honour, not in fornication, nor taking them as secret concubines. Whoso denieth the faith, his work is vain and he will be among the losers in the Hereafter. |
Arberry | Today the good things are permitted you, and the food of those who were given the Book is permitted to you, and permitted to them is your food; Likewise believing women in wedlock, and in wedlock women of them who were given the Book before you if you give them their wages, in wedlock and not in licence, or as taking lovers. Whoso disbelieves in the faith, his work has failed, and in the world to come he shall be among the losers. |

Sarwar | Believers, do not disrespect the reminders of God, the sacred months, the animals brought for sacrifice, or what is marked for sacrificial offering or the people heading to the precinct of the Sacred House to seek the favor and pleasure of their Lord. Once the restrictions of ihram are over, you may hunt. Do not let the hostility of a group of people keep you away from the Sacred Mosque or make you express animosity. Co-operate with each other in righteousness and piety, not in sin and hostility. Have fear of God; He is stern in His retribution. |
H/K/Saheeh | This day [all] good foods have been made lawful, and the food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them. And [lawful in marriage are] chaste women from among the believers and chaste women from among those who were given the Scripture before you, when you have given them their due compensation, desiring chastity, not unlawful sexual intercourse or taking [secret] lovers. And whoever denies the faith his work has become worthless, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers. |
Malik | Today all good clean things have been made lawful for you; and the food of the People of the Book is also made lawful for you and your food is made lawful for them. Likewise, marriage with chaste free believing women and also chaste women among the People who were given the Book before you is made lawful for you, provided that you give them their dowries and desire chastity, neither committing fornication nor taking them as mistresses. Anyone who commits Kufr with Iman (rejects the rules provided by faith), all his good deeds will be in vain and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.[5] |

Lawful to you (in marriage) are the free believing women and the free women from among those who were given the Book before you, provided that you give them their dowries in marriage, neither committing fornication nor taking them as mistresses. Whosoever denies the belief, his labors will be annulled. In the Everlasting Life he is of the losers. |

And whosoever disbelieves in the Oneness of Allah and in all the other Articles of Faith (i.e. His (Allahs), Angels, His Holy Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection and AlQadar (Divine Preordainments)), then fruitless is his work, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers. |
QXP Shabbir Ahemd** | This Day, all good food of your choice is made Lawful for you. The food of the People of the Scripture is Lawful for you. And your food is Lawful for them. You are permitted to marry chaste women of the People of the Scripture, (provided they do not indulge in SHIRK i.e. not associate anyone with Allah (2:221)).
