| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[46:26] | Walaqad makkannahum feema inmakkannakum feehi wajaAAalna lahum samAAan waabsaranwaaf-idatan fama aghna AAanhum samAAuhum walaabsaruhum wala af-idatuhum min shay-in ith kanooyajhadoona bi-ayati Allahi wahaqabihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzi-oona
|  ولقد مكناهم فيما إن مكناكم فيه وجعلنا لهم سمعا وأبصارا وأفئدة فما أغنى عنهم سمعهم ولا أبصارهم ولا أفئدتهم من شيء إذ كانوا يجحدون بآيات الله وحاق بهم ما كانوا به يستهزئون
وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّاهُمْ فِيمَا إِن مَّكَّنَّاكُمْ فِيهِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ سَمْعًا وَأَبْصَارًا وَأَفْئِدَةً فَمَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُمْ سَمْعُهُمْ وَلَا أَبْصَارُهُمْ وَلَا أَفْئِدَتُهُم مِّن شَيْءٍ إِذْ كَانُوا يَجْحَدُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِؤُون |
| Words | |ولقد - And certainly,| مكناهم - We had established them| فيما - in what| إن - not| مكناكم - We have established you| فيه - in it,| وجعلنا - and We made| لهم - for them| سمعا - hearing| وأبصارا - and vision| وأفئدة - and hearts.| فما - But not| أغنى - availed| عنهم - them| سمعهم - their hearing| ولا - and not| أبصارهم - their vision| ولا - and not| أفئدتهم - their hearts| من - any| شيء - thing,| إذ - when| كانوا - they were| يجحدون - rejecting| بآيات - (the) Signs| الله - (of) Allah| وحاق - and enveloped| بهم - them| ما - what| كانوا - they used to| به - [at it]| يستهزئون - ridicule.| |

| በዚያም እናንተን በእርሱ ባላስመቸንበት (ድሎት) በእርግጥ አስመቸናቸው፡፡ ለእነርሱም መስሚያንና ማያዎችን፣ ልቦችንም አደረግንላቸው፡፡ ግን መስሚያቸውና ማያዎቻቸው፣ ልቦቻቸውም ከእነሱ ምንም አልጠቀሟቸውም፡፡ በአላህ አንቀጾች ይክዱ ነበሩና፡፡ በእነርሱም ላይ ያ በእርሱ ይሳለቁበት የነበሩት ቅጣት ወረደባቸው፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { ولقد مكناهم فيما } في الذي { إن } نافية أو زائدة { مكناكم } يا أهل مكة { فيه } من القوة والمال { وجعلنا لهم سمعا } بمعنى أسماعا { وأبصارا وأفئدة } قلوبا { فما أغنى عنهم سمعهم ولا أبصارهم ولا أفئدتهم من شيء } أي شيئا من الإغناء ومن زائدة { إذ } معمولة لأغنى وأشربت معنى التعليل { كانوا يجحدون بآيات الله } بحججه البينة { وحاق } نزل { بهم ما كانوا به يستهزءُون } أي العذاب . |
| Ni$ Nessakrer asen ayen ur awen Nessakrer. Nefka yasen imeééu$en, allen, akked wulawen. Ula i sen d bbwin deg wacemma imeééu$en, allen, akked wulawen, mi skaddben issekniyen n Öebbi. Ayen i$ef ttihin, izzi d fellasen. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আমি তাদেরকে এমন বিষয়ে ক্ষমতা দিয়েছিলাম, যে বিষয়ে তোমাদেরকে ক্ষমতা দেইনি। আমি তাদের দিয়েছিলাম, কর্ণ, চক্ষু ও হৃদয়, কিন্তু তাদের কর্ণ, চক্ষু ও হৃদয় তাদের কোন কাজে আসল না, যখন তারা আল্লাহর আয়াতসমূহকে অস্বীকার করল এবং তাদেরকে সেই শাস্তি গ্রাস করে নিল, যা নিয়ে তারা ঠাট্টা বিদ্রুপ করত। |
| Literal | And We had (E) highly positioned/strengthened them in what We have not highly positioned/strengthened you in it, and We made/put for them a sense of hearing , and eye sights, and hearts , so their sense of hearing , and nor their eye sights, and nor their hearts did not enrich/suffice from them a thing when they were disbelieving and denying with God's evidences/verses ; and what they were with it mocking/making fun of surrounded/encircled with them. |
| Yusuf Ali | And We had firmly established them in a (prosperity and) power which We have not given to you (ye Quraish!) and We had endowed them with (faculties of) hearing, seeing, heart and intellect: but of no profit to them were their (faculties of) hearing, sight, and heart and intellect, when they went on rejecting the Signs of Allah; and they were (completely) encircled by that which they used to mock at! |
| Pickthal | And verily We had empowered them with that wherewith We have not empowered you, and had assigned them ears and eyes and hearts; but their ears and eyes and hearts availed them naught since they denied the revelations of Allah; and what they used to mock befell them. |
| Arberry | And We had established them in that wherein We have not established you, and We appointed for them hearing, and sight, and hearts; and yet their hearing, their sight and their hearts availed them nothing, since they denied the signs of God, and they were encompassed by that they mocked at. |

We had given them ears, eyes, and hearts but none of their ears, eyes, and hearts proved to be of any benefit to them; they rejected the revelations of God and the torment which they mocked brought upon them utter destruction. |

Moreover, the social conditions of their time were so simple and so free of the many uncertainties and dangers which beset people of higher civilizations that they could be regarded as more "securely established" on earth than people of later, more complex times.] and We had endowed them with hearing, and sight, and [knowledgeable] hearts: [I.e., intellect and feeling, both of which are comprised in the noun fuad.] but neither their hearing, nor their sight, nor their hearts were of the least avail to them, seeing that they went on rejecting God's messages; and [in the end] they were overwhelmed [Lit., "enfolded".] by the very thing which they had been wont to deride. |
| Khalifa** | We had established them in the same way as we established you, and provided them with hearing, eyes, and minds. But their hearing, eyes, and minds did not help them at all. This is because they decided to disregard GOD's revelations. Thus, the prophecies and warnings that they ridiculed have caused their doom. |
| Hilali/Khan** | And indeed We had firmly established them with that wherewith We have not established you (O Quraish)! And We had assigned them the (faculties of) hearing (ears), seeing (eyes), and hearts, but their hearing (ears), seeing (eyes), and their hearts availed them nothing since they used to deny the Ayat (Allahs Prophets and their Prophethood, proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, and they were completely encircled by that which they used to mock at! |
| QXP Shabbir Ahemd** | And verily, We had established them in the land better than We ever established you, and We had given them keen faculties of hearing, sight and intellect. But of no avail to them were there hearing and sight and intellect when they went on knowingly rejecting Allah's Messages. And so, the very thing they used to mock at surrounded them. ('Fuad', plural 'Afidah', includes the faculties of intellect, reasoning, insight and feelings (45:23)). |

| Na sabnsabnar a piyaki khapaar Ami kiran so da Ami rkano to pakikhapaarn, go singgayan Ami siran sa kan´g, go manga kaylay, go manga kagda; na da kiran makanggay a gona so kan´g iran, go so manga kaylay ran, go so manga kagda iran, sa mayto bo, kagiya siyangka iran so manga ayat o Allah; na kiyatangkalan siran o piyamagrgan iran oto (a siksa)! |
