| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[4:72] | Wa-inna minkum laman layubatti-annafa-in asabatkum museebatun qala qad anAAamaAllahu AAalayya ith lam akun maAAahum shaheedan
|  وإن منكم لمن ليبطئن فإن أصابتكم مصيبة قال قد أنعم الله علي إذ لم أكن معهم شهيدا
وَإِنَّ مِنكُمْ لَمَن لَّيُبَطِّئَنَّ فَإِنْ أَصَابَتْكُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَالَ قَدْ أَنْعَمَ اللّهُ عَلَيَّ إِذْ لَمْ أَكُن مَّعَهُمْ شَهِيدًا |
| Words | |وإن - And indeed,| منكم - among you| لمن - (is he) who| ليبطئن - lags behind| فإن - then if| أصابتكم - befalls you| مصيبة - a disaster| قال - he said,| قد - "Verily| أنعم - (has) favored| الله - Allah| علي - [on] me| إذ - [when]| لم - (that) not| أكن - I was| معهم - with them,| شهيدا - present."| |

| ከእናንተም ውስጥ በእርግጥ (ከዘመቻ) ወደ ኋላ የሚንጓደድ ሰው አልለ፡፡ አደጋም ብታገኛችሁ ከእነሱ ጋር ተጣጅ ባልኾንኩ ጊዜ አላህ በእኔ ላይ በእርግጥ ለገሰልኝ ይላል፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { وإنَّ منكم لمن ليبطئنَّ } ليتأخرن عن القتال كعبد الله بن أبيّ المنافق وأصحابه وجعله منهم من حيث الظاهر واللام في الفعل للقسم { فإن أصابتكم مصيبة } كقتل وهزيمة { قال قد أنعم الله علىَّ إذ لم أكن معهم شهيدا } حاضرا فأصاب . |
| Ih, garawen win ipâaîîilen. Ma tu$em tiyta, ad yini: "I$at iyi Öebbi, ur lli$ yidsen, d anagi". |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আর তোমাদের মধ্যে এমনও কেউ কেউ রয়েছে, যারা অবশ্য বিলম্ব করবে এবং তোমাদের উপর কোন বিপদ উপস্থিত হলে বলবে, আল্লাহ আমার প্রতি অনুগ্রহ করেছেন যে, আমি তাদের সাথে যাইনি। |
| Literal | And that from you who (E) will slow/delay/linger (E) , so if a disaster struck you, he said: "God had blessed on me, when I was not present with them." |
| Yusuf Ali | There are certainly among you men who would tarry behind: If a misfortune befalls you, they say: "Allah did favour us in that we were not present among them." |
| Pickthal | Lo! among you there is he who loitereth; and if disaster overtook you, he would say: Allah hath been gracious unto me since I was not present with them. |
| Arberry | Some of you there are that are dilatory; then, if an affliction visits you, he says, 'God has blessed me, in that I was not a martyr with them.' |
| Shakir | And surely among you is he who would certainly hang back! If then a misfortune befalls you he says: Surely Allah conferred a benefit on me that I was not present with them. |
| Sarwar | There are some among you who lag behind (in battle) and if you were to experience hardship, they would say, "It was certainly due to God's favors to us that we were not present with them," |

| Malik | There will be someone among you who will surely lag behind, so that if you face any calamity, he will say: "Allah has been gracious to me that I did not accompany them."[72] |
