| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[4:21] | Wakayfa ta/khuthoonahu waqad afdabaAAdukum ila baAAdin waakhathnaminkum meethaqan ghaleethan
|  وكيف تأخذونه وقد أفضى بعضكم إلى بعض وأخذن منكم ميثاقا غليظا
وَكَيْفَ تَأْخُذُونَهُ وَقَدْ أَفْضَى بَعْضُكُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ وَأَخَذْنَ مِنكُم مِّيثَاقًا غَلِيظًا |
| Words | |وكيف - And how| تأخذونه - could you take it| وقد - when surely| أفضى - has gone -| بعضكم - one of you| إلى - to| بعض - another,| وأخذن - and they have taken| منكم - from you| ميثاقا - covenant| غليظا - strong?| |

| ከፊላችሁ ወደ ከፊሉ በእርግጥ የደረሰ ሲኾንና ከእናንተ ላይም (ሴቶች) የጠበቀ ኪዳንን የያዙባችሁ ሲኾኑ እንዴት ትወስዱታላችሁ! |
| آل الجلالين | { وكيف تأخذونه } أي بأي وجه { وقد أفضى } وصل { بعضكم إلى بعض } بالجماع المقرر للمهر { وأخذن منكم ميثاقا } عهدا { غليظا } شديدا وهو ما أمر الله به من إمساكهن بمعروف أو تسريحهن بإحسان . |
| Amek ara tekksem imi temyekcamem, u bbwint s$uôwen laâqed meqqwôen? |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | তোমরা কিরূপে তা গ্রহণ করতে পার, অথচ তোমাদের একজন অন্য জনের কাছে গমন এবং নারীরা তোমাদের কাছে থেকে সুদৃঢ় অঙ্গীকার গ্রহণ করেছে। |
| Literal | And how do you take it and some of you to some had revealed and they (F) took from you a strong promise/covenant? |
