بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

1 [4:2] | Waatoo alyatama amwalahumwala tatabaddaloo alkhabeetha bialttayyibiwala ta/kuloo amwalahum ila amwalikuminnahu kana hooban kabeeran
| وآتوا اليتامى أموالهم ولا تتبدلوا الخبيث بالطيب ولا تأكلوا أموالهم إلى أموالكم إنه كان حوبا كبيرا وَآتُواْ الْيَتَامَى أَمْوَالَهُمْ وَلاَ تَتَبَدَّلُواْ الْخَبِيثَ بِالطَّيِّبِ وَلاَ تَأْكُلُواْ أَمْوَالَهُمْ إِلَى أَمْوَالِكُمْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ حُوبًا كَبِيرًا |
Words | |وآتوا - And give| اليتامى - (to) the orphans| أموالهم - their wealth,| ولا - and (do) not| تتبدلوا - exchange| الخبيث - the bad| بالطيب - with the good,| ولا - and (do) not| تأكلوا - consume| أموالهم - their wealth| إلى - with| أموالكم - your wealth.| إنه - Indeed, it| كان - is| حوبا - a sin| كبيرا - great.| |

| የቲሞችንም ገንዘቦቻቸውን ስጡ፡፡ መጥፎውንም በመልካሙ አትለውጡ፡፡ ገንዘቦቻቸውንም ወደ ገንዘቦቻችሁ (በመቀላቀል) አትብሉ እርሱ ታላቅ ኃጢአት ነውና፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | ونزل في يتيم طلب من وليه ماله فمنعه: { وآتوا اليتامى } الصغار الذين لا أب لهم { أموالهم } إذا بلغوا { ولا تتبدلوا الخبيث } الحرام { بالطيب } الحلال أي تأخذوه بدله كما تفعلون من أخذ الجيد من مال اليتيم وجعل الرديء من مالكم مكانه { ولا تأكلوا أموالهم } مضمومة { إلى أموالكم إنه } أي أكلها { كان حوبا } ذنبا { كبيرا } عظيما ولما نزلت تحرجوا من ولاية اليتامى وكان فيهم من تحته العشر أو الثمان من الأزواج فلا يعدل بينهن فنزل . |
| Efket ayla nnsen i igujilen, ur pparat dduni deg umkan n lâali. Ur pparat ayla nnsen d ayla nnwen. Ih, wagi d abekkav ameqwôan. |
মুহিউদ্দীন খান | এতীমদেরকে তাদের সম্পদ বুঝিয়ে দাও। খারাপ মালামালের সাথে ভালো মালামালের অদল-বদল করো না। আর তাদের ধন-সম্পদ নিজেদের ধন-সম্পদের সাথে সংমিশ্রিত করে তা গ্রাস করো না। নিশ্চয় এটা বড়ই মন্দ কাজ। |
Literal | And give the orphans their properties , and do not exchange/replace/substitute the bad/spoiled with the good/beautiful , and do not eat their properties to your properties , that it was a great/large sin/crime . |
Yusuf Ali | To orphans restore their property (When they reach their age), nor substitute (your) worthless things for (their) good ones; and devour not their substance (by mixing it up) with your won. For this is indeed a great sin. |
Pickthal | Give unto orphans their wealth. Exchange not the good for the bad (in your management thereof) nor absorb their wealth into your own wealth. Lo! that would be a great sin. |
Arberry | Give the orphans their property, and do not exchange the corrupt for the good; and devour not their property with your property; surely that is a great crime. |

Malik | Give orphans the property which belongs to them when they are able to handle it themselves and do not substitute your worthless things for their valuable ones; and do not cheat them of their possession through mixing it up with your own. For this would indeed be a great sin.[2] |
Maulana Ali** | And give to the orphans their property, and substitute not worthless (things) for (their) good (ones), and devour not their property (adding) to your own property. This is surely a great sin. |

QXP Shabbir Ahemd** | Orphans in the community are like your family members (33:5). Be vigilant in guarding their rights (4:127). Protect their property honestly, and give it to them when they have come of age.
