بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

1 [39:24] | Afaman yattaqee biwajhihi soo-a alAAathabiyawma alqiyamati waqeela lilththalimeenathooqoo ma kuntum taksiboona
| أفمن يتقي بوجهه سوء العذاب يوم القيامة وقيل للظالمين ذوقوا ما كنتم تكسبون أَفَمَن يَتَّقِي بِوَجْهِهِ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَقِيلَ لِلظَّالِمِينَ ذُوقُوا مَا كُنتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ |
Words | |أفمن - Then (is) he who| يتقي - will shield| بوجهه - with his face| سوء - (the) worst| العذاب - punishment| يوم - (on the) Day| القيامة - (of) the Resurrection?| وقيل - And it will be said| للظالمين - to the wrongdoers,| ذوقوا - "Taste| ما - what| كنتم - you used to| تكسبون - earn."| |

| በትንሣኤ ቀን ክፉን ቅጣት በፊቱ የሚመክት ሰው (ከቅጣት እንደሚድን ነውን?) ለበዳዮችም «ትሠሩት የነበራችሁትን (ቅጣቱን) ቅመሱ» ይባላሉ፡፡ |
آل الجلالين | { أفمن يتقي } يلقى { بوجهه سوء العذاب يوم القيامة } أي أشده بأن يلقى في النار مغلولة يداه إلى عنقه كمن أمن منه بدخول الجنة { وقيل للظالمين } أي كفار مكة { ذوقوا ما كنتم تكسبون } أي جزاءَه . |

মুহিউদ্দীন খান | যে ব্যক্তি কেয়ামতের দিন তার মুখ দ্বারা অশুভ আযাব ঠেকাবে এবং এরূপ জালেমদেরকে বলা হবে, তোমরা যা করতে তার স্বাদ আস্বাদন কর,-সে কি তার সমান, যে এরূপ নয়? |
Literal | Is who fears with his face/front the torture's bad/evil/harm (on) the Resurrection Day, and was said to the unjust/oppressive taste/experience what you were gaining/acquiring . |
Yusuf Ali | Is, then, one who has to fear the brunt of the Penalty on the Day of Judgment (and receive it) on his face, (like one guarded therefrom)? It will be said to the wrong-doers: "Taste ye (the fruits of) what ye earned!" |
