| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[3:78] | Wa-inna minhum lafareeqan yalwoonaalsinatahum bialkitabi litahsaboohu minaalkitabi wama huwa mina alkitabiwayaqooloona huwa min AAindi Allahi wama huwa minAAindi Allahi wayaqooloona AAala Allahi alkathibawahum yaAAlamoona
|  وإن منهم لفريقا يلوون ألسنتهم بالكتاب لتحسبوه من الكتاب وما هو من الكتاب ويقولون هو من عند الله وما هو من عند الله ويقولون على الله الكذب وهم يعلمون
وَإِنَّ مِنْهُمْ لَفَرِيقًا يَلْوُونَ أَلْسِنَتَهُم بِالْكِتَابِ لِتَحْسَبُوهُ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ اللّهِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ اللّهِ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللّهِ الْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ |
| Words | |وإن - And indeed,| منهم - among them| لفريقا - surely (is) a group -| يلوون - they distort| ألسنتهم - their tongues| بالكتاب - in (reciting) the Book| لتحسبوه - so that you may think it| من - (is) from| الكتاب - the Book| وما - and not| هو - it| من - (is) from| الكتاب - the Book.| ويقولون - And they say,| هو - "It| من - (is)| عند - from| الله - Allah."| وما - But not| هو - it| من - (is)| عند - from| الله - Allah.| ويقولون - And they say| على - about| الله - Allah| الكذب - the lie| وهم - while they| يعلمون - know.| |

| ከእነሱም እርሱ ከመጽሐፉ ያይደለ ሲኾን ከመጽሐፉ መኾኑን እንድታስቡ በመጽሐፉ ምላሶቻቸውን የሚያጣምሙ ክፍሎች አሉ፡፡ እርሱ ከአላህ ዘንድ ያልኾነ ሲኾን «እርሱ ከአላህ ዘንድ ነውም» ይላሉ፡፡ እነርሱ የሚያውቁ ሲኾኑም በአላህ ላይ ውሸትን ይናገራሉ፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { وإنَّ منهم } أي أهل الكتاب { لفريقا } طائفة ككعب بن الأشرف { يلوون ألسنتهم بالكتاب } أي يعطفونها بقراءته عن المنزل إلى ما حرفوه من نعت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ونحو { لتحسبوه } أي المحرف { من الكتاب } الذي أنزله الله { وما هو من الكتاب ويقولون هو من عند الله وما هو من عند الله ويقولون على الله الكذب وهم يعلمون } أنهم كاذبون . |
| Ih, arbaâ segsen ssexsaôen Tazmamt s yilsawen nnsen, iwakken a p$ilem n Tezmamt, ayen ur nelli n Tezmamt. Qqaôen: "aya s$uô Öebbi", u neppa ur illi s$uô Öebbi. U qqaren tikerkas $ef Öebbi, u nitni éôan. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | আর তাদের মধ্যে একদল রয়েছে, যারা বিকৃত উচ্চারণে মুখ বাঁকিয়ে কিতাব পাঠ করে, যাতে তোমরা মনে কর যে, তার কিতাব থেকেই পাঠ করছে। অথচ তারা যা আবৃত্তি করছে তা আদৌ কিতাব নয়। এবং তারা বলে যে, এসব কথা আল্লাহর তরফ থেকে আগত। অথচ এসব আল্লাহর তরফ থেকে প্রেরিত নয়। তারা বলে যে, এটি আল্লাহর কথা অথচ এসব আল্লাহর কথা নয়। আর তারা জেনে শুনে আল্লাহরই প্রতি মিথ্যারোপ করে। |
| Literal | And that from them (is) a group (E) (who) twist/turn/distort (misconstruct with) their tongues with The Book, so that you think/suppose it (is) from The Book, and it is not from The Book, and they say: "It (is) from at God". And it is not from at God, and they say on God the lie/falsehood and they are knowing. |
| Yusuf Ali | There is among them a section who distort the Book with their tongues: (As they read) you would think it is a part of the Book, but it is no part of the Book; and they say, "That is from Allah," but it is not from Allah: It is they who tell a lie against Allah, and (well) they know it! |
| Pickthal | And lo! there is a party of them who distort the Scripture with their tongues, that ye may think that what they say is from the Scripture, when it is not from the Scripture. And they say: It is from Allah, when it is not from Allah; and they speak a lie concerning Allah knowingly. |

In fact, what they have read is not from the true Bible. They say, "What we read is from God." In reality, it is not from God. They knowingly ascribe false statements to God. |
