| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[27:46] | Qala ya qawmi limatastaAAjiloona bialssayyi-ati qabla alhasanati lawlatastaghfiroona Allaha laAAallakum turhamoona
|  قال يا قوم لم تستعجلون بالسيئة قبل الحسنة لولا تستغفرون الله لعلكم ترحمون
قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لِمَ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ قَبْلَ الْحَسَنَةِ لَوْلَا تَسْتَغْفِرُونَ اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ |
| Words | |قال - He said,| يا - O| قوم - "O my people!| لم - Why| تستعجلون - (do) you seek to hasten| بالسيئة - the evil| قبل - before| الحسنة - the good?| لولا - Why not| تستغفرون - you ask forgiveness| الله - (of) Allah| لعلكم - so that you may| ترحمون - receive mercy?"| |

| «ሕዝቦቼ ሆይ! ከመልካሙ በፊት በክፉው (ቅጣትን አምጣብን በማለት) ለምን ታስቸኩላላችሀ ይታዘንላችሁ ዘንድ አላህን ምሕረትን አትለምኑምን» አላቸው፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { قال } للمكذبين {ياقوم لمَ تستعجلون بالسيئة قبل الحسنة} أي بالعذاب قبل الرحمة حيث قلتم إن كان ما أتيتنا به حقاً فأتنا بالعذاب { لولا } هلا { تستغفرون الله } من الشرك { لعلكم ترحمون } فلا تعذبون. |
| Inna: "a yagdud iw! Acimi tep$awalem ar tucmip, uqbel ise$? Lemmer a ppeste$fôem Öebbi, ahat aêunu fellawen". |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | সালেহ বললেন, হে আমার সম্প্রদায়, তোমরা কল্যাণের পূর্বে দ্রুত অকল্যাণ কামনা করছ কেন? তোমরা আল্লাহর কাছে ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করছ না কেন? সম্ভবতঃ তোমরা দয়াপ্রাপ্ত হবে। |
| Literal | He said: "You my nation, why (do) you hasten/urge with the sin/crime before the good/goodness? If only you ask God for forgiveness, maybe/perhaps you attain mercy." |
