| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[18:64] | Qala thalika ma kunnanabghi fairtadda AAala atharihimaqasasan
|  قال ذلك ما كنا نبغ فارتدا على آثارهما قصصا
قَالَ ذَلِكَ مَا كُنَّا نَبْغِ فَارْتَدَّا عَلَى آثَارِهِمَا قَصَصًا |
| Words | |قال - He said,| ذلك - "That| ما - (is) what| كنا - we were| نبغ - seeking."| فارتدا - So they returned| على - on| آثارهما - their footprints,| قصصا - retracing.| |

| (ሙሳም) ይህ እንፈልገው የነበርነው ነው አለው፡፡ በፈለጎቻቸውም ላይ እየተከተሉ ተመለሱ፡፡ |
| آل الجلالين | { قال } موسى { ذلك } أي فقدنا الحوت { ما } أي الذي { كنا نبغ } نطلبه فإنه علامة لنا على وجود من نطلبه { فارتدا } رجعا { على آثارهما } يقصانها { قصصا } فأتيا الصخرة . |
| Inna: "d ayagi ay neb$a". D$a u$alen d $ef isurifen nnsen. |
| মুহিউদ্দীন খান | মূসা বললেনঃ আমরা তো এ স্থানটিই খুঁজছিলাম। অতঃপর তাঁরা নিজেদের চিহ্ন ধরে ফিরে চললেন। |
| Literal | He said: "That (is) not (what) we were wishing/desiring ." So they (B) returned on their (B)'s tracks/marks following/tracking. |
| Yusuf Ali | Moses said: "That was what we were seeking after:" So they went back on their footsteps, following (the path they had come). |
| Pickthal | He said: This is that which we have been seeking. So they retraced their steps again. |
