| 1 [12:4] | Ith qala yoosufu li-abeehi yaabati innee raaytu ahada AAashara kawkaban waalshshamsawaalqamara raaytuhum lee sajideena |  إذ قال يوسف لأبيه يا أبت إني رأيت أحد عشر كوكبا والشمس والقمر رأيتهم لي ساجدينإِذْ قَالَ يُوسُفُ لِأَبِيهِ يَا أَبَتِ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ أَحَدَ عَشَرَ كَوْكَبًا وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ رَأَيْتُهُمْ لِي سَاجِدِينَ | |||||

| 3 [12:9] | Oqtuloo yoosufa awi itrahoohuardan yakhlu lakum wajhu abeekum watakoonoo min baAAdihiqawman saliheena | اقتلوا يوسف أو اطرحوه أرضا يخل لكم وجه أبيكم وتكونوا من بعده قوما صالحين اقْتُلُواْ يُوسُفَ أَوِاطْرَحُوهُ أَرْضًا يَخْلُ لَكُمْ وَجْهُ أَبِيكُمْ وَتَكُونُواْ مِن بَعْدِهِ قَوْمًا صَالِحِينَ | |||||

| 4 [12:10] | Qala qa-ilun minhum lataqtuloo yoosufa waalqoohu fee ghayabati aljubbi yaltaqithubaAAdu alssayyarati in kuntum faAAileena | قال قائل منهم لا تقتلوا يوسف وألقوه في غيابت الجب يلتقطه بعض السيارة إن كنتم فاعلين قَالَ قَآئِلٌ مِّنْهُمْ لاَ تَقْتُلُواْ يُوسُفَ وَأَلْقُوهُ فِي غَيَابَةِ الْجُبِّ يَلْتَقِطْهُ بَعْضُ السَّيَّارَةِ إِن كُنتُمْ فَاعِلِينَ | |||||
| Words | |قال - Said| قائل - a speaker| منهم - among them,| لا - "(Do) not| تقتلوا - kill| يوسف - Yusuf| وألقوه - but throw him| في - in| غيابت - the bottom| الجب - (of) the well,| يلتقطه - will pick him| بعض - some| السيارة - [the] caravan| إن - if| كنتم - you are| فاعلين - doing."| | ||||||
| 5 [12:11] | Qaloo ya abana malaka la ta/manna AAala yoosufa wa-innalahu lanasihoona | قالوا يا أبانا ما لك لا تأمنا على يوسف وإنا له لناصحون قَالُواْ يَا أَبَانَا مَا لَكَ لاَ تَأْمَنَّا عَلَى يُوسُفَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَنَاصِحُونَ | |||||
| Words | |قالوا - They said,| يا - O| أبانا - "O our father!| ما - Why| لك - (do) you| لا - not| تأمنا - trust us| على - with| يوسف - Yusuf,| وإنا - while indeed, we| له - (are) for him| لناصحون - surely well-wishers?| | ||||||
| 6 [12:17] | Qaloo ya abanainna thahabna nastabiqu wataraknayoosufa AAinda mataAAina faakalahu alththi/buwama anta bimu/minin lana walaw kunna sadiqeena | قالوا يا أبانا إنا ذهبنا نستبق وتركنا يوسف عند متاعنا فأكله الذئب وما أنت بمؤمن لنا ولو كنا صادقين قَالُواْ يَا أَبَانَا إِنَّا ذَهَبْنَا نَسْتَبِقُ وَتَرَكْنَا يُوسُفَ عِندَ مَتَاعِنَا فَأَكَلَهُ الذِّئْبُ وَمَا أَنتَ بِمُؤْمِنٍ لِّنَا وَلَوْ كُنَّا صَادِقِينَ | |||||
| Words | |قالوا - They said,| يا - O| أبانا - "O our father!| إنا - Indeed, we| ذهبنا - [we] went| نستبق - racing each other| وتركنا - and we left| يوسف - Yusuf| عند - with| متاعنا - our possessions,| فأكله - and ate him| الذئب - the wolf.| وما - But not| أنت - you| بمؤمن - (will) believe| لنا - us,| ولو - even if| كنا - we are| صادقين - truthful."| | ||||||
| 7 [12:29] | Yoosufu aAArid AAan hatha waistaghfireelithanbiki innaki kunti mina alkhati-eena | يوسف أعرض عن هذا واستغفري لذنبك إنك كنت من الخاطئين يُوسُفُ أَعْرِضْ عَنْ هَـذَا وَاسْتَغْفِرِي لِذَنبِكِ إِنَّكِ كُنتِ مِنَ الْخَاطِئِينَ | |||||

| 8 [12:46] | Yoosufu ayyuha alssiddeequaftina fee sabAAi baqaratin simaninya/kuluhunna sabAAun AAijafun wasabAAi sunbulatinkhudrin waokhara yabisatin laAAallee arjiAAuila alnnasi laAAallahum yaAAlamoona | يوسف أيها الصديق أفتنا في سبع بقرات سمان يأكلهن سبع عجاف وسبع سنبلات خضر وأخر يابسات لعلي أرجع إلى الناس لعلهم يعلمون يُوسُفُ أَيُّهَا الصِّدِّيقُ أَفْتِنَا فِي سَبْعِ بَقَرَاتٍ سِمَانٍ يَأْكُلُهُنَّ سَبْعٌ عِجَافٌ وَسَبْعِ سُنْبُلاَتٍ خُضْرٍ وَأُخَرَ يَابِسَاتٍ لَّعَلِّي أَرْجِعُ إِلَى النَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ | |||||

| 9 [12:51] | Qala ma khatbukunna ithrawadtunna yoosufa AAan nafsihi qulna hasha lillahima AAalimna AAalayhi min soo-in qalatiimraatu alAAazeezi al-ana hashasa alhaqquana rawadtuhu AAan nafsihi wa-innahu lamina alssadiqeena | قال ما خطبكن إذ راودتن يوسف عن نفسه قلن حاش لله ما علمنا عليه من سوء قالت امرأت العزيز الآن حصحص الحق أنا راودته عن نفسه وإنه لمن الصادقين قَالَ مَا خَطْبُكُنَّ إِذْ رَاوَدتُّنَّ يُوسُفَ عَن نَّفْسِهِ قُلْنَ حَاشَ لِلّهِ مَا عَلِمْنَا عَلَيْهِ مِن سُوءٍ قَالَتِ امْرَأَةُ الْعَزِيزِ الْآنَ حَصْحَصَ الْحَقُّ أَنَاْ رَاوَدتُّهُ عَن نَّفْسِهِ وَإِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ | |||||
| Words | |قال - He said,| ما - "What| خطبكن - (was) your affair| إذ - when| راودتن - you sought to seduce| يوسف - Yusuf| عن - from| نفسه - himself?"| قلن - They said,| حاش - "Allah forbid!| لله - "Allah forbid!| ما - Not| علمنا - we know| عليه - about him| من - any| سوء - evil."| قالت - Said| امرأت - (the) wife| العزيز - (of) Aziz,| الآن - "Now| حصحص - (is) manifest| الحق - the truth.| أنا - I| راودته - sought to seduce him| عن - from| نفسه - himself,| وإنه - and indeed, he| لمن - (is) surely of| الصادقين - the truthful.| | ||||||
| 10 [12:58] | Wajaa ikhwatu yoosufa fadakhalooAAalayhi faAAarafahum wahum lahu munkiroona | وجاء إخوة يوسف فدخلوا عليه فعرفهم وهم له منكرون وَجَاءَ إِخْوَةُ يُوسُفَ فَدَخَلُواْ عَلَيْهِ فَعَرَفَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُ مُنكِرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وجاء - And came| إخوة - (the) brothers| يوسف - (of) Yusuf| فدخلوا - and they entered| عليه - upon him;| فعرفهم - and he recognized them,| وهم - but they| له - knew him not.| منكرون - knew him not.| | ||||||
| 11 [12:69] | Walamma dakhaloo AAala yoosufaawa ilayhi akhahu qala innee anaakhooka fala tabta-is bima kanoo yaAAmaloona | ولما دخلوا على يوسف آوى إليه أخاه قال إني أنا أخوك فلا تبتئس بما كانوا يعملون وَلَمَّا دَخَلُواْ عَلَى يُوسُفَ آوَى إِلَيْهِ أَخَاهُ قَالَ إِنِّي أَنَاْ أَخُوكَ فَلاَ تَبْتَئِسْ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولما - And when| دخلوا - they entered| على - upon| يوسف - Yusuf,| آوى - he took| إليه - to himself| أخاه - his brother.| قال - He said,| إني - "Indeed, I| أنا - [I] am| أخوك - your brother| فلا - so (do) not| تبتئس - grieve| بما - for what| كانوا - they used (to)| يعملون - do."| | ||||||
| 12 [12:77] | Qaloo in yasriq faqad saraqa akhunlahu min qablu faasarraha yoosufu fee nafsihi walam yubdihalahum qala antum sharrun makanan waAllahuaAAlamu bima tasifoona | قالوا إن يسرق فقد سرق أخ له من قبل فأسرها يوسف في نفسه ولم يبدها لهم قال أنتم شر مكانا والله أعلم بما تصفون قَالُواْ إِن يَسْرِقْ فَقَدْ سَرَقَ أَخٌ لَّهُ مِن قَبْلُ فَأَسَرَّهَا يُوسُفُ فِي نَفْسِهِ وَلَمْ يُبْدِهَا لَهُمْ قَالَ أَنتُمْ شَرٌّ مَّكَانًا وَاللّهُ أَعْلَمْ بِمَا تَصِفُونَ | |||||
| Words | |قالوا - They said,| إن - "If| يسرق - he steals -| فقد - then verily| سرق - stole| أخ - a brother| له - of his| من - before."| قبل - before."| فأسرها - But Yusuf kept it secret| يوسف - But Yusuf kept it secret| في - within| نفسه - himself,| ولم - and (did) not| يبدها - reveal it| لهم - to them.| قال - He said,| أنتم - "You| شر - (are the) worse| مكانا - (in) position,| والله - and Allah| أعلم - knows best| بما - of what| تصفون - you describe."| | ||||||
| 13 [12:80] | Falamma istay-asoo minhu khalasoonajiyyan qala kabeeruhum alam taAAlamoo anna abakumqad akhatha AAalaykum mawthiqan mina Allahi waminqablu ma farrattum fee yoosufa falan abrahaal-arda hatta ya/thana lee abee aw yahkumaAllahu lee wahuwa khayru alhakimeena | فلما استيأسوا منه خلصوا نجيا قال كبيرهم ألم تعلموا أن أباكم قد أخذ عليكم موثقا من الله ومن قبل ما فرطتم في يوسف فلن أبرح الأرض حتى يأذن لي أبي أو يحكم الله لي وهو خير الحاكمين فَلَمَّا اسْتَيْأَسُواْ مِنْهُ خَلَصُواْ نَجِيًّا قَالَ كَبِيرُهُمْ أَلَمْ تَعْلَمُواْ أَنَّ أَبَاكُمْ قَدْ أَخَذَ عَلَيْكُم مَّوْثِقًا مِّنَ اللّهِ وَمِن قَبْلُ مَا فَرَّطتُمْ فِي يُوسُفَ فَلَنْ أَبْرَحَ الْأَرْضَ حَتَّىَ يَأْذَنَ لِي أَبِي أَوْ يَحْكُمَ اللّهُ لِي وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الْحَاكِمِينَ | |||||
| Words | |فلما - So when| استيأسوا - they despaired| منه - of him,| خلصوا - they secluded themselves| نجيا - (in) private consultation.| قال - Said| كبيرهم - the eldest among them,| ألم - "Do not| تعلموا - you know| أن - that| أباكم - your father,| قد - has taken| أخذ - has taken| عليكم - upon you| موثقا - a promise| من - by| الله - Allah,| ومن - and before| قبل - and before| ما - that| فرطتم - you failed| في - concerning| يوسف - Yusuf?| فلن - So never| أبرح - will I leave| الأرض - the land| حتى - until| يأذن - permits| لي - me| أبي - my father| أو - or| يحكم - Allah decides| الله - Allah decides| لي - for me,| وهو - and He| خير - (is) the Best| الحاكمين - (of) the judges.| | ||||||
| 14 [12:84] | Watawalla AAanhum waqala yaasafa AAala yoosufa waibyaddat AAaynahumina alhuzni fahuwa katheemun | وتولى عنهم وقال يا أسفى على يوسف وابيضت عيناه من الحزن فهو كظيم وَتَوَلَّى عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَا أَسَفَى عَلَى يُوسُفَ وَابْيَضَّتْ عَيْنَاهُ مِنَ الْحُزْنِ فَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |وتولى - And he turned away| عنهم - from them| وقال - and said,| يا - O| أسفى - "Alas, my grief| على - over| يوسف - Yusuf!"| وابيضت - And became white| عيناه - his eyes| من - from| الحزن - the grief,| فهو - and he (was)| كظيم - a suppressor.| | ||||||
| 15 [12:85] | Qaloo taAllahi taftaotathkuru yoosufa hatta takoona haradanaw takoona mina alhalikeena | قالوا تالله تفتأ تذكر يوسف حتى تكون حرضا أو تكون من الهالكين قَالُواْ تَاللهِ تَفْتَأُ تَذْكُرُ يُوسُفَ حَتَّى تَكُونَ حَرَضًا أَوْ تَكُونَ مِنَ الْهَالِكِينَ | |||||
| Words | |قالوا - They said,| تالله - "By Allah,| تفتأ - you will not cease| تذكر - remembering| يوسف - Yusuf| حتى - until| تكون - you become| حرضا - fatally ill| أو - or| تكون - become| من - of| الهالكين - those who perish."| | ||||||
| 16 [12:87] | Ya baniyya ithhaboo fatahassasoomin yoosufa waakheehi wala tay-asoo min rawhi Allahiinnahu la yay-asu min rawhi Allahi illaalqawmu alkafiroona | يا بني اذهبوا فتحسسوا من يوسف وأخيه ولا تيأسوا من روح الله إنه لا ييأس من روح الله إلا القوم الكافرون يَا بَنِيَّ اذْهَبُواْ فَتَحَسَّسُواْ مِن يُوسُفَ وَأَخِيهِ وَلاَ تَيْأَسُواْ مِن رَّوْحِ اللّهِ إِنَّهُ لاَ يَيْأَسُ مِن رَّوْحِ اللّهِ إِلاَّ الْقَوْمُ الْكَافِرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |يا - O| بني - O my sons!| اذهبوا - Go| فتحسسوا - and inquire| من - about| يوسف - Yusuf| وأخيه - and his brother,| ولا - and not| تيأسوا - despair| من - of| روح - (the) Mercy of Allah.| الله - (the) Mercy of Allah.| إنه - Indeed,| لا - none| ييأس - despairs| من - of| روح - (the) Mercy of Allah| الله - (the) Mercy of Allah| إلا - except| القوم - the people| الكافرون - the disbelievers."| | ||||||
| 17 [12:90] | Qaloo a-innaka laanta yoosufa qalaana yoosufu wahatha akhee qad manna AllahuAAalayna innahu man yattaqi wayasbir fa-inna Allahala yudeeAAu ajra almuhsineena | قالوا أإنك لأنت يوسف قال أنا يوسف وهذا أخي قد من الله علينا إنه من يتق ويصبر فإن الله لا يضيع أجر المحسنين قَالُواْ أَإِنَّكَ لَأَنتَ يُوسُفُ قَالَ أَنَاْ يُوسُفُ وَهَـذَا أَخِي قَدْ مَنَّ اللّهُ عَلَيْنَا إِنَّهُ مَن يَتَّقِ وَيَصْبِرْ فَإِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ | |||||
| Words | |قالوا - They said,| أإنك - "Are you indeed,| لأنت - surely you,| يوسف - Yusuf?"| قال - He said,| أنا - "I am| يوسف - Yusuf| وهذا - and this| أخي - (is) my brother.| قد - Indeed,| من - Allah has been gracious| الله - Allah has been gracious| علينا - to us.| إنه - Indeed, he| من - who| يتق - fears Allah| ويصبر - and (is) patient,| فإن - then indeed,| الله - Allah| لا - (does) not| يضيع - let go waste| أجر - (the) reward| المحسنين - (of) the good-doers."| | ||||||
| 18 [12:94] | Walamma fasalati alAAeeru qalaaboohum innee laajidu reeha yoosufa lawla antufannidooni | ولما فصلت العير قال أبوهم إني لأجد ريح يوسف لولا أن تفندون وَلَمَّا فَصَلَتِ الْعِيرُ قَالَ أَبُوهُمْ إِنِّي لَأَجِدُ رِيحَ يُوسُفَ لَوْلاَ أَن تُفَنِّدُونِ | |||||
| Words | |ولما - And when| فصلت - departed| العير - the caravan,| قال - their father said,| أبوهم - their father said,| إني - "Indeed, I| لأجد - [I] find| ريح - (the) smell| يوسف - (of) Yusuf,| لولا - if not| أن - that| تفندون - you think me weakened in mind."| | ||||||
| 19 [12:99] | Falamma dakhaloo AAala yoosufaawa ilayhi abawayhi waqala odkhuloo misrain shaa Allahu amineena | فلما دخلوا على يوسف آوى إليه أبويه وقال ادخلوا مصر إن شاء الله آمنين فَلَمَّا دَخَلُواْ عَلَى يُوسُفَ آوَى إِلَيْهِ أَبَوَيْهِ وَقَالَ ادْخُلُواْ مِصْرَ إِن شَاءَ اللّهُ آمِنِينَ | |||||
| Words | |فلما - Then when| دخلوا - they entered| على - upon| يوسف - Yusuf,| آوى - he took| إليه - to himself| أبويه - his parents| وقال - and said,| ادخلوا - "Enter| مصر - Egypt| إن - if| شاء - Allah wills,| الله - Allah wills,| آمنين - safe."| | ||||||
| 20 [40:34] | Walaqad jaakum yoosufu min qablu bialbayyinatifama ziltum fee shakkin mimma jaakum bihi hattaitha halaka qultum lan yabAAatha Allahu minbaAAdihi rasoolan kathalika yudillu Allahuman huwa musrifun murtabun | ولقد جاءكم يوسف من قبل بالبينات فما زلتم في شك مما جاءكم به حتى إذا هلك قلتم لن يبعث الله من بعده رسولا كذلك يضل الله من هو مسرف مرتاب وَلَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ يُوسُفُ مِن قَبْلُ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَمَا زِلْتُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِّمَّا جَاءَكُم بِهِ حَتَّى إِذَا هَلَكَ قُلْتُمْ لَن يَبْعَثَ اللَّهُ مِن بَعْدِهِ رَسُولًا كَذَلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللَّهُ مَنْ هُوَ مُسْرِفٌ مُّرْتَابٌ | |||||
| Words | |ولقد - And indeed,| جاءكم - came to you| يوسف - Yusuf| من - before| قبل - before| بالبينات - with clear proofs,| فما - but not| زلتم - you ceased| في - in| شك - doubt| مما - about what| جاءكم - he brought to you| به - [with it],| حتى - until| إذا - when| هلك - he died,| قلتم - you said,| لن - "Never| يبعث - will Allah raise| الله - will Allah raise| من - after him| بعده - after him| رسولا - a Messenger."| كذلك - Thus,| يضل - Allah lets go astray| الله - Allah lets go astray| من - who| هو - [he]| مسرف - (is) a transgressor,| مرتاب - a doubter."| | ||||||
