| 1 [2:171] | Wamathalu allatheena kafarookamathali allathee yanAAiqu bima la yasmaAAuilla duAAaan wanidaan summun bukmunAAumyun fahum la yaAAqiloona |  ومثل الذين كفروا كمثل الذي ينعق بما لا يسمع إلا دعاء ونداء صم بكم عمي فهم لا يعقلونوَمَثَلُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ كَمَثَلِ الَّذِي يَنْعِقُ بِمَا لاَ يَسْمَعُ إِلاَّ دُعَاءً وَنِدَاءً صُمٌّ بُكْمٌ عُمْيٌ فَهُمْ لاَ يَعْقِلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ومثل - And (the) example| الذين - (of) those who| كفروا - disbelieve[d]| كمثل - (is) like (the) example| الذي - (of) the one who| ينعق - shouts| بما - at what| لا - not| يسمع - (does) hear| إلا - except| دعاء - calls| ونداء - and cries -| صم - deaf| بكم - dumb,| عمي - (and) blind,| فهم - [so] they| لا - (do) not| يعقلون - understand.| | ||||||
| 2 [9:6] | Wa-in ahadun mina almushrikeena istajarakafaajirhu hatta yasmaAAa kalama Allahithumma ablighhu ma/manahu thalika bi-annahum qawmun layaAAlamoona | وإن أحد من المشركين استجارك فأجره حتى يسمع كلام الله ثم أبلغه مأمنه ذلك بأنهم قوم لا يعلمون وَإِنْ أَحَدٌ مِّنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ اسْتَجَارَكَ فَأَجِرْهُ حَتَّى يَسْمَعَ كَلاَمَ اللّهِ ثُمَّ أَبْلِغْهُ مَأْمَنَهُ ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لاَّ يَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإن - And if| أحد - anyone| من - of| المشركين - the polytheists| استجارك - seek your protection| فأجره - then grant him protection| حتى - until| يسمع - he hears| كلام - (the) Words of Allah.| الله - (the) Words of Allah.| ثم - Then| أبلغه - escort him| مأمنه - (to) his place of safety.| ذلك - That| بأنهم - (is) because they| قوم - (are) a people| لا - (who) do not know.| يعلمون - (who) do not know.| | ||||||
| 3 [19:42] | Ith qala li-abeehi yaabati lima taAAbudu ma la yasmaAAu wala yubsiruwala yughnee AAanka shay-an | إذ قال لأبيه يا أبت لم تعبد ما لا يسمع ولا يبصر ولا يغني عنك شيئا إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ يَا أَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لاَ يَسْمَعُ وَلاَ يُبْصِرُ وَلاَ يُغْنِي عَنكَ شَيْئًا | |||||
| Words | |إذ - When| قال - he said| لأبيه - to his father,| يا - O| أبت - "O my father!| لم - Why| تعبد - (do) you worship| ما - that which| لا - not| يسمع - hears| ولا - and not| يبصر - sees| ولا - and not| يغني - benefits| عنك - [to] you| شيئا - (in) anything?| | ||||||
| 4 [21:45] | Qul innama onthirukum bialwahyiwala yasmaAAu alssummu aldduAAaaitha ma yuntharoona | قل إنما أنذركم بالوحي ولا يسمع الصم الدعاء إذا ما ينذرون قُلْ إِنَّمَا أُنذِرُكُم بِالْوَحْيِ وَلَا يَسْمَعُ الصُّمُّ الدُّعَاءَ إِذَا مَا يُنذَرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |قل - Say,| إنما - "Only| أنذركم - I warn you| بالوحي - by the revelation."| ولا - But not| يسمع - hear| الصم - the deaf| الدعاء - the call| إذا - when| ما - when| ينذرون - they are warned.| | ||||||
| 5 [35:22] | Wama yastawee al-ahyaowala al-amwatu inna Allaha yusmiAAu man yashaowama anta bimusmiAAin man fee alquboori | وما يستوي الأحياء ولا الأموات إن الله يسمع من يشاء وما أنت بمسمع من في القبور وَمَا يَسْتَوِي الْأَحْيَاءُ وَلَا الْأَمْوَاتُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُسْمِعُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَمَا أَنتَ بِمُسْمِعٍ مَّن فِي الْقُبُورِ | |||||
| Words | |وما - And not| يستوي - equal| الأحياء - (are) the living| ولا - and not| الأموات - the dead.| إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| يسمع - causes to hear| من - whom| يشاء - He wills,| وما - and not| أنت - you| بمسمع - can make hear| من - (those) who| في - (are) in| القبور - the graves.| | ||||||
| 6 [45:8] | YasmaAAu ayati Allahitutla AAalayhi thumma yusirru mustakbiran kaan lamyasmaAAha fabashshirhu biAAathabin aleemin | يسمع آيات الله تتلى عليه ثم يصر مستكبرا كأن لم يسمعها فبشره بعذاب أليم يَسْمَعُ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ يُصِرُّ مُسْتَكْبِرًا كَأَن لَّمْ يَسْمَعْهَا فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ | |||||
| Words | |يسمع - Who hears| آيات - (the) Verses| الله - (of) Allah| تتلى - recited| عليه - to him,| ثم - then| يصر - persists| مستكبرا - arrogantly| كأن - as if| لم - not| يسمعها - he heard them.| فبشره - So give him tidings| بعذاب - (of) a punishment| أليم - painful.| | ||||||
| 7 [58:1] | Qad samiAAa Allahu qawla allatee tujadilukafee zawjiha watashtakee ila Allahi waAllahuyasmaAAu tahawurakuma inna Allaha sameeAAunbaseerun | قد سمع الله قول التي تجادلك في زوجها وتشتكي إلى الله والله يسمع تحاوركما إن الله سميع بصير قَدْ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ قَوْلَ الَّتِي تُجَادِلُكَ فِي زَوْجِهَا وَتَشْتَكِي إِلَى اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ يَسْمَعُ تَحَاوُرَكُمَا إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ بَصِيرٌ | |||||
| Words | |قد - Indeed,| سمع - Allah has heard| الله - Allah has heard| قول - (the) speech| التي - (of one) who| تجادلك - disputes with you| في - concerning| زوجها - her husband| وتشتكي - and she directs her complaint| إلى - to| الله - Allah.| والله - And Allah| يسمع - hears| تحاوركما - (the) dialogue of both of you.| إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| سميع - (is) All-Hearer,| بصير - All-Seer.| | ||||||
