| 1 [2:19] | Aw kasayyibin mina alssama-ifeehi thulumatun waraAAdun wabarqunyajAAaloona asabiAAahum fee athanihim mina alssawaAAiqihathara almawti waAllahu muheetunbialkafireena |  أو كصيب من السماء فيه ظلمات ورعد وبرق يجعلون أصابعهم في آذانهم من الصواعق حذر الموت والله محيط بالكافرينأَوْ كَصَيِّبٍ مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ فِيهِ ظُلُمَاتٌ وَّرَعْدٌ وَّبَرْقٌ يَجْعَلُونَ أَصَابِعَهُمْ فِي آذَانِهِم مِّنَ الصَّوَاعِقِ حَذَرَ الْمَوْتِ وَاللّهُ مُحِيطٌ بِالْكَافِرِينَ | |||||
| Words | |أو - Or| كصيب - like a rainstorm| من - from| السماء - the sky| فيه - in it (are)| ظلمات - darkness[es],| ورعد - and thunder,| وبرق - and lightning.| يجعلون - They put| أصابعهم - their fingers| في - in| آذانهم - their ears| من - from| الصواعق - the thunderclaps| حذر - (in) fear (of)| الموت - [the] death.| والله - And Allah| محيط - (is) [the One Who] encompasses| بالكافرين - the disbelievers.| | ||||||
| 2 [2:72] | Wa-ith qataltum nafsan faiddara/tumfeeha waAllahu mukhrijun ma kuntumtaktumoona | وإذ قتلتم نفسا فادارأتم فيها والله مخرج ما كنتم تكتمون وَإِذْ قَتَلْتُمْ نَفْساً فَادَّارَأْتُمْ فِيهَا وَاللّهُ مُخْرِجٌ مَّا كُنْـتُمْ تَكْتُمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قتلتم - you killed| نفسا - a man,| فادارأتم - then you disputed| فيها - concerning it,| والله - but Allah| مخرج - (is) the One Who brought forth| ما - what| كنتم - you were| تكتمون - concealing.| | ||||||
| 3 [2:95] | Walan yatamannawhu abadan bimaqaddamat aydeehim waAllahu AAaleemun bialththalimeena | ولن يتمنوه أبدا بما قدمت أيديهم والله عليم بالظالمين وَلَنْ يَّتَمَنَّوْهُ أَبَدًا بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَاللّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالظَّالِمينَ | |||||
| Words | |ولن - And never (will)| يتمنوه - they wish for it,| أبدا - ever,| بما - because| قدمت - (of what) sent ahead| أيديهم - their hands.| والله - And Allah| عليم - (is) All-Knower| بالظالمين - of the wrongdoers.| | ||||||
| 4 [2:96] | Walatajidannahum ahrasa alnnasiAAala hayatin wamina allatheenaashrakoo yawaddu ahaduhum law yuAAammaru alfa sanatin wamahuwa bimuzahzihihi mina alAAathabi anyuAAammara waAllahu baseerun bimayaAAmaloona | ولتجدنهم أحرص الناس على حياة ومن الذين أشركوا يود أحدهم لو يعمر ألف سنة وما هو بمزحزحه من العذاب أن يعمر والله بصير بما يعملون وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمْ أَحْرَصَ النَّاسِ عَلَى حَيَاةٍ وَمِنَ الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمْ لَوْ يُعَمَّرُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحْزِحِهِ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ أَنْ يُّعَمَّرَ وَاللّهُ بَصِيرٌ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولتجدنهم - And surely you will find them| أحرص - (the) most greedy| الناس - (of) [the] mankind| على - for| حياة - life,| ومن - and (greedier) than| الذين - those who| أشركوا - associate[d] partners (with Allah).| يود - Loves| أحدهم - (each) one of them| لو - if| يعمر - he could be granted a life| ألف - (of) a thousand| سنة - year(s).| وما - But not| هو - it| بمزحزحه - (will) remove him| من - from| العذاب - the punishment| أن - that| يعمر - he should be granted life.| والله - And Allah| بصير - (is) All-Seer| بما - of what| يعملون - they do.| | ||||||
| 5 [2:105] | Ma yawaddu allatheena kafaroomin ahli alkitabi wala almushrikeena an yunazzalaAAalaykum min khayrin min rabbikum waAllahu yakhtassubirahmatihi man yashao waAllahu thooalfadli alAAatheemi | ما يود الذين كفروا من أهل الكتاب ولا المشركين أن ينزل عليكم من خير من ربكم والله يختص برحمته من يشاء والله ذو الفضل العظيم مَّا يَوَدُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ وَلاَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ أَن يُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَاللّهُ يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِ مَن يَشَاءُ وَاللّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ | |||||
| Words | |ما - (Do) not| يود - like| الذين - those who| كفروا - disbelieve| من - from| أهل - (the) People| الكتاب - (of) the Book| ولا - and not| المشركين - those who associate partners (with Allah),| أن - that| ينزل - (there should) be sent down| عليكم - to you| من - any| خير - good| من - from| ربكم - your Lord.| والله - And Allah| يختص - chooses| برحمته - for His Mercy| من - whom| يشاء - He wills.| والله - And Allah| ذو - (is the) Possessor| الفضل - (of) [the] Bounty| العظيم - [the] Great.| | ||||||
| 6 [2:202] | Ola-ika lahum naseebun mimmakasaboo waAllahu sareeAAu alhisabi | أولئك لهم نصيب مما كسبوا والله سريع الحساب أُولَـئِكَ لَهُمْ نَصِيبٌ مِّمَّا كَسَبُواْ وَاللّهُ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ | |||||
| Words | |أولئك - Those -| لهم - for them| نصيب - (is) a share| مما - of what| كسبوا - they earned,| والله - and Allah| سريع - (is) swift| الحساب - (in taking) account.| | ||||||
| 7 [2:205] | Wa-itha tawalla saAAafee al-ardi liyufsida feeha wayuhlika alharthawaalnnasla waAllahu la yuhibbualfasada | وإذا تولى سعى في الأرض ليفسد فيها ويهلك الحرث والنسل والله لا يحب الفساد وَإِذَا تَوَلَّى سَعَى فِي الْأَرْضِ لِيُفْسِدَ فِيهَا وَيُهْلِكَ الْحَرْثَ وَالنَّسْلَ وَاللّهُ لاَ يُحِبُّ الفَسَادَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| تولى - he turns away| سعى - he strives| في - in| الأرض - the earth| ليفسد - to spread corruption| فيها - [in it],| ويهلك - and destroys| الحرث - the crops| والنسل - and progeny.| والله - And Allah| لا - (does) not| يحب - love| الفساد - [the] corruption.| | ||||||
| 8 [2:207] | Wamina alnnasi man yashreenafsahu ibtighaa mardati Allahi waAllahuraoofun bialAAibadi | ومن الناس من يشري نفسه ابتغاء مرضات الله والله رءوف بالعباد وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَشْرِي نَفْسَهُ ابْتِغَاءَ مَرْضَاتِ اللّهِ وَاللّهُ رَؤُوفٌ بِالْعِبَادِ | |||||
| Words | |ومن - And of| الناس - the people| من - (is the one) who| يشري - sells| نفسه - his own self| ابتغاء - seeking| مرضات - pleasure| الله - (of) Allah.| والله - And Allah| رءوف - (is) full of Kindness| بالعباد - to His servants.| | ||||||
| 9 [2:212] | Zuyyina lillatheena kafaroo alhayatualddunya wayaskharoona mina allatheena amanoowaallatheena ittaqaw fawqahum yawma alqiyamatiwaAllahu yarzuqu man yashao bighayri hisabin | زين للذين كفروا الحياة الدنيا ويسخرون من الذين آمنوا والذين اتقوا فوقهم يوم القيامة والله يرزق من يشاء بغير حساب زُيِّنَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا وَيَسْخَرُونَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَالَّذِينَ اتَّقَواْ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَاللّهُ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ | |||||
| Words | |زين - Beautified| للذين - for those who| كفروا - disbelieve[d]| الحياة - (is) the life| الدنيا - (of) the world,| ويسخرون - and they ridicule| من - [of]| الذين - those who| آمنوا - believe[d].| والذين - And those who| اتقوا - fear (Allah),| فوقهم - (they will be) above them| يوم - (on the) Day| القيامة - (of) Resurrection.| والله - And Allah| يرزق - provides| من - whom| يشاء - He wills| بغير - without| حساب - measure.| | ||||||
| 10 [2:213] | Kana alnnasu ommatan wahidatanfabaAAatha Allahu alnnabiyyeena mubashshireenawamunthireena waanzala maAAahumu alkitaba bialhaqqiliyahkuma bayna alnnasi feemaikhtalafoo feehi wama ikhtalafa feehi illa allatheenaootoohu min baAAdi ma jaat-humu albayyinatubaghyan baynahum fahada Allahu allatheena amanoolima ikhtalafoo feehi mina alhaqqi bi-ithnihiwaAllahu yahdee man yashao ila siratinmustaqeemin | كان الناس أمة واحدة فبعث الله النبيين مبشرين ومنذرين وأنزل معهم الكتاب بالحق ليحكم بين الناس فيما اختلفوا فيه وما اختلف فيه إلا الذين أوتوه من بعد ما جاءتهم البينات بغيا بينهم فهدى الله الذين آمنوا لما اختلفوا فيه من الحق بإذنه والله يهدي من يشاء إلى صراط مستقيم كَانَ النَّاسُ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً فَبَعَثَ اللّهُ النَّبِيِّينَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ وَأَنزَلَ مَعَهُمُ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فِيمَا اخْتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ وَمَا اخْتَلَفَ فِيهِ إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوهُ مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنَاتُ بَغْيًا بَيْنَهُمْ فَهَدَى اللّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ لِمَا اخْتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ مِنَ الْحَقِّ بِإِذْنِهِ وَاللّهُ يَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ | |||||
| Words | |كان - Was| الناس - mankind| أمة - a community| واحدة - single,| فبعث - then raised up| الله - Allah| النبيين - [the] Prophets| مبشرين - (as) bearers of glad tidings| ومنذرين - and (as) warners,| وأنزل - and sent down| معهم - with them| الكتاب - the Book| بالحق - in [the] truth| ليحكم - to judge| بين - between| الناس - [the] people| فيما - in what| اختلفوا - they differed| فيه - [in it].| وما - And (did) not| اختلف - differ[ed]| فيه - in it| إلا - except| الذين - those who| أوتوه - were given it| من - from| بعد - after| ما - [what]| جاءتهم - came to them| البينات - the clear proofs,| بغيا - (out of) jealousy| بينهم - among themselves.| فهدى - And guided| الله - Allah| الذين - those who| آمنوا - believe[d]| لما - regarding what| اختلفوا - they differed| فيه - [in it]| من - of| الحق - the Truth| بإذنه - with His permission.| والله - And Allah| يهدي - guides| من - whom| يشاء - He wills| إلى - to| صراط - a path| مستقيم - straight.| | ||||||
| 11 [2:216] | Kutiba AAalaykumu alqitalu wahuwakurhun lakum waAAasa an takrahoo shay-an wahuwa khayrunlakum waAAasa an tuhibboo shay-an wahuwa sharrunlakum waAllahu yaAAlamu waantum lataAAlamoona | كتب عليكم القتال وهو كره لكم وعسى أن تكرهوا شيئا وهو خير لكم وعسى أن تحبوا شيئا وهو شر لكم والله يعلم وأنتم لا تعلمون كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْقِتَالُ وَهُوَ كُرْهٌ لَّكُمْ وَعَسَى أَن تَكْرَهُواْ شَيْئًا وَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَعَسَى أَن تُحِبُّواْ شَيْئًا وَهُوَ شَرٌّ لَّكُمْ وَاللّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ | |||||

| 12 [2:218] | Inna allatheena amanoo waallatheenahajaroo wajahadoo fee sabeeli Allahi ola-ikayarjoona rahmata Allahi waAllahughafoorun raheemun | إن الذين آمنوا والذين هاجروا وجاهدوا في سبيل الله أولئك يرجون رحمت الله والله غفور رحيم إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَالَّذِينَ هَاجَرُواْ وَجَاهَدُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ أُوْلَـئِكَ يَرْجُونَ رَحْمَتَ اللّهِ وَاللّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ | |||||

| 13 [2:220] | Fee alddunya waal-akhiratiwayas-aloonaka AAani alyatama qul islahunlahum khayrun wa-in tukhalitoohum fa-ikhwanukumwaAllahu yaAAlamu almufsida mina almuslihiwalaw shaa Allahu laaAAnatakum inna AllahaAAazeezun hakeemun | في الدنيا والآخرة ويسألونك عن اليتامى قل إصلاح لهم خير وإن تخالطوهم فإخوانكم والله يعلم المفسد من المصلح ولو شاء الله لأعنتكم إن الله عزيز حكيم فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْيَتَامَى قُلْ إِصْلاَحٌ لَّهُمْ خَيْرٌ وَإِنْ تُخَالِطُوهُمْ فَإِخْوَانُكُمْ وَاللّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْمُفْسِدَ مِنَ الْمُصْلِحِ وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللّهُ لَأَعْنَتَكُمْ إِنَّ اللّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |في - Concerning| الدنيا - the world| والآخرة - and the Hereafter.| ويسألونك - They ask you| عن - about| اليتامى - the orphans.| قل - Say,| إصلاح - "Setting right (their affairs)| لهم - for them| خير - (is) best.| وإن - And if| تخالطوهم - you associate with them| فإخوانكم - then they (are) your brothers.| والله - And Allah| يعلم - knows| المفسد - the corrupter| من - from| المصلح - the amender.| ولو - And if| شاء - (had) willed| الله - Allah| لأعنتكم - surely He (could have) put you in difficulties.| إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| عزيز - (is) All-Mighty,| حكيم - All-Wise."| | ||||||
| 14 [2:221] | Wala tankihoo almushrikatihatta yu/minna walaamatun mu/minatun khayrun minmushrikatin walaw aAAjabatkum wala tunkihooalmushrikeena hatta yu/minoo walaAAabdun mu/minunkhayrun min mushrikin walaw aAAjabakum ola-ika yadAAoonaila alnnari waAllahu yadAAooila aljannati waalmaghfirati bi-ithnihiwayubayyinu ayatihi lilnnasilaAAallahum yatathakkaroona | ولا تنكحوا المشركات حتى يؤمن ولأمة مؤمنة خير من مشركة ولو أعجبتكم ولا تنكحوا المشركين حتى يؤمنوا ولعبد مؤمن خير من مشرك ولو أعجبكم أولئك يدعون إلى النار والله يدعو إلى الجنة والمغفرة بإذنه ويبين آياته للناس لعلهم يتذكرون وَلاَ تَنكِحُواْ الْمُشْرِكَاتِ حَتَّى يُؤْمِنَّ وَلَأَمَةٌ مُّؤْمِنَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِّن مُّشْرِكَةٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَتْكُمْ وَلاَ تُنكِحُواْ الْمُشْرِكِينَ حَتَّى يُؤْمِنُواْ وَلَعَبْدٌ مُّؤْمِنٌ خَيْرٌ مِّن مُّشْرِكٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكُمْ أُوْلَـئِكَ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى النَّارِ وَاللّهُ يَدْعُوَ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَالْمَغْفِرَةِ بِإِذْنِهِ وَيُبَيِّنُ آيَاتِهِ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولا - And (do) not| تنكحوا - [you] marry| المشركات - [the] polytheistic women| حتى - until| يؤمن - they believe.| ولأمة - And a bondwoman| مؤمنة - (who is) believing| خير - (is) better| من - than| مشركة - a polytheistic woman| ولو - [and] even if| أعجبتكم - she pleases you.| ولا - And (do) not| تنكحوا - give in marriage (your women)| المشركين - (to) [the] polytheistic men| حتى - until| يؤمنوا - they believe,| ولعبد - and a bondman| مؤمن - (who is) believing| خير - (is) better| من - than| مشرك - a polytheistic man| ولو - [and] even if| أعجبكم - he pleases you.| أولئك - [Those]| يدعون - they invite| إلى - to| النار - the Fire,| والله - and Allah| يدعو - invites| إلى - to| الجنة - Paradise| والمغفرة - and [the] forgiveness| بإذنه - by His permission.| ويبين - And He makes clear| آياته - His Verses| للناس - for the people| لعلهم - so that they may| يتذكرون - take heed.| | ||||||
| 15 [2:224] | Wala tajAAaloo Allaha AAurdatanli-aymanikum an tabarroo watattaqoo watuslihoobayna alnnasi waAllahu sameeAAunAAaleemun | ولا تجعلوا الله عرضة لأيمانكم أن تبروا وتتقوا وتصلحوا بين الناس والله سميع عليم وَلاَ تَجْعَلُواْ اللّهَ عُرْضَةً لِّأَيْمَانِكُمْ أَن تَبَرُّواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ وَتُصْلِحُواْ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَاللّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |ولا - And (do) not| تجعلوا - make| الله - Allah's (name)| عرضة - an excuse| لأيمانكم - in your oaths| أن - that| تبروا - you do good,| وتتقوا - and be righteous| وتصلحوا - and make peace| بين - between| الناس - [the] people.| والله - And Allah| سميع - (is) All-Hearing,| عليم - All-Knowing.| | ||||||
| 16 [2:225] | La yu-akhithukumu Allahubiallaghwi fee aymanikum walakin yu-akhithukumbima kasabat quloobukum waAllahu ghafoorun haleemun | لا يؤاخذكم الله باللغو في أيمانكم ولكن يؤاخذكم بما كسبت قلوبكم والله غفور حليم لاَّ يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ اللّهُ بِاللَّغْوِ فِي أَيْمَانِكُمْ وَلَكِن يُؤَاخِذُكُم بِمَا كَسَبَتْ قُلُوبُكُمْ وَاللّهُ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |لا - Not| يؤاخذكم - will take you to task| الله - Allah| باللغو - for (what is) unintentional| في - in| أيمانكم - your oaths,| ولكن - [and] but| يؤاخذكم - He takes you to task| بما - for what| كسبت - (have) earned| قلوبكم - your hearts.| والله - And Allah| غفور - (is) Oft-Forgiving,| حليم - Most Forbearing.| | ||||||
| 17 [2:228] | Waalmutallaqatuyatarabbasna bi-anfusihinna thalathata quroo-in walayahillu lahunna an yaktumna ma khalaqa Allahufee arhamihinna in kunna yu/minna biAllahiwaalyawmi al-akhiri wabuAAoolatuhunna ahaqqubiraddihinna fee thalika in aradoo islahanwalahunna mithlu allathee AAalayhinna bialmaAAroofiwalilrrijali AAalayhinna darajatun waAllahuAAazeezun hakeemun | والمطلقات يتربصن بأنفسهن ثلاثة قروء ولا يحل لهن أن يكتمن ما خلق الله في أرحامهن إن كن يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر وبعولتهن أحق بردهن في ذلك إن أرادوا إصلاحا ولهن مثل الذي عليهن بالمعروف وللرجال عليهن درجة والله عزيز حكيم وَالْمُطَلَّقَاتُ يَتَرَبَّصْنَ بِأَنفُسِهِنَّ ثَلاَثَةَ قُرُوءٍ وَلاَ يَحِلُّ لَهُنَّ أَن يَكْتُمْنَ مَا خَلَقَ اللّهُ فِي أَرْحَامِهِنَّ إِن كُنَّ يُؤْمِنَّ بِاللّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ وَبُعُولَتُهُنَّ أَحَقُّ بِرَدِّهِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ إِنْ أَرَادُواْ إِصْلاَحًا وَلَهُنَّ مِثْلُ الَّذِي عَلَيْهِنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَلِلرِّجَالِ عَلَيْهِنَّ دَرَجَةٌ وَاللّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكُيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |والمطلقات - And the women who are divorced| يتربصن - shall wait| بأنفسهن - concerning themselves| ثلاثة - (for) three| قروء - monthly periods.| ولا - And (it is) not| يحل - lawful| لهن - for them| أن - that| يكتمن - they conceal| ما - what| خلق - (has been) created| الله - (by) Allah| في - in| أرحامهن - their wombs,| إن - if| كن - they| يؤمن - believe| بالله - in Allah| واليوم - and the Day| الآخر - [the] Last.| وبعولتهن - And their husbands| أحق - (have) better right| بردهن - to take them back| في - in| ذلك - that (period)| إن - if| أرادوا - they wish| إصلاحا - (for) reconciliation.| ولهن - And for them| مثل - (is the) like| الذي - (of) that which| عليهن - (is) on them| بالمعروف - in a reasonable manner,| وللرجال - and for the men| عليهن - over them| درجة - (is) a degree.| والله - And Allah| عزيز - (is) All-Mighty,| حكيم - All-Wise.| | ||||||
| 18 [2:232] | Wa-itha tallaqtumu alnnisaafabalaghna ajalahunna fala taAAduloohunna an yankihnaazwajahunna itha taradaw baynahum bialmaAAroofithalika yooAAathu bihi man kanaminkum yu/minu biAllahi waalyawmi al-akhirithalikum azka lakum waatharu waAllahuyaAAlamu waantum la taAAlamoona | وإذا طلقتم النساء فبلغن أجلهن فلا تعضلوهن أن ينكحن أزواجهن إذا تراضوا بينهم بالمعروف ذلك يوعظ به من كان منكم يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر ذلكم أزكى لكم وأطهر والله يعلم وأنتم لا تعلمون وَإِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَبَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَلاَ تَعْضُلُوهُنَّ أَن يَنكِحْنَ أَزْوَاجَهُنَّ إِذَا تَرَاضَوْاْ بَيْنَهُم بِالْمَعْرُوفِ ذَلِكَ يُوعَظُ بِهِ مَن كَانَ مِنكُمْ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ ذَلِكُمْ أَزْكَى لَكُمْ وَأَطْهَرُ وَاللّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| طلقتم - you divorce| النساء - [the] women| فبلغن - and they reached| أجلهن - their (waiting) term,| فلا - then (do) not| تعضلوهن - hinder them| أن - [that]| ينكحن - (from) marrying| أزواجهن - their husbands| إذا - when| تراضوا - they agree| بينهم - between themselves| بالمعروف - in a fair manner.| ذلك - That| يوعظ - is admonished| به - with it| من - whoever| كان - [is]| منكم - among you| يؤمن - believes| بالله - in Allah| واليوم - and the Day| الآخر - [the] Last;| ذلكم - that| أزكى - (is) more virtuous| لكم - for you| وأطهر - and more purer.| والله - And Allah| يعلم - knows| وأنتم - and you| لا - (do) not| تعلمون - know.| | ||||||
| 19 [2:234] | Waallatheena yutawaffawnaminkum wayatharoona azwajan yatarabbasnabi-anfusihinna arbaAAata ashhurin waAAashran fa-ithabalaghna ajalahunna fala junaha AAalaykum feemafaAAalna fee anfusihinna bialmaAAroofi waAllahubima taAAmaloona khabeerun | والذين يتوفون منكم ويذرون أزواجا يتربصن بأنفسهن أربعة أشهر وعشرا فإذا بلغن أجلهن فلا جناح عليكم فيما فعلن في أنفسهن بالمعروف والله بما تعملون خبير وَالَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزْوَاجًا يَتَرَبَّصْنَ بِأَنفُسِهِنَّ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا فَإِذَا بَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَلاَ جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِيمَا فَعَلْنَ فِي أَنفُسِهِنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَاللّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ | |||||
| Words | |والذين - And those who| يتوفون - pass away| منكم - among you| ويذرون - and leave behind| أزواجا - wives,| يتربصن - (the widows) should wait| بأنفسهن - for themselves| أربعة - (for) four| أشهر - months| وعشرا - and ten (days).| فإذا - Then when| بلغن - they reach| أجلهن - their (specified) term,| فلا - then (there is) no| جناح - blame| عليكم - upon you| فيما - for what| فعلن - they do| في - concerning| أنفسهن - themselves| بالمعروف - in a fair manner.| والله - And Allah| بما - of what| تعملون - you do| خبير - (is) All-Aware.| | ||||||
| 20 [2:240] | Waallatheena yutawaffawnaminkum wayatharoona azwajan wasiyyatanli-azwajihim mataAAan ila alhawlighayra ikhrajin fa-in kharajna fala junahaAAalaykum fee ma faAAalna fee anfusihinna min maAAroofinwaAllahu AAazeezun hakeemun | والذين يتوفون منكم ويذرون أزواجا وصية لأزواجهم متاعا إلى الحول غير إخراج فإن خرجن فلا جناح عليكم في ما فعلن في أنفسهن من معروف والله عزيز حكيم وَالَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزْوَاجًا وَصِيَّةً لِّأَزْوَاجِهِم مَّتَاعًا إِلَى الْحَوْلِ غَيْرَ إِخْرَاجٍ فَإِنْ خَرَجْنَ فَلاَ جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِي مَا فَعَلْنَ فِيَ أَنفُسِهِنَّ مِن مَّعْرُوفٍ وَاللّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |والذين - And those who| يتوفون - die| منكم - among you| ويذرون - and leave behind| أزواجا - (their) wives| وصية - (should make) a will| لأزواجهم - for their wives,| متاعا - provision| إلى - for| الحول - the year| غير - without| إخراج - driving (them) out.| فإن - But if| خرجن - they leave| فلا - then no| جناح - blame| عليكم - upon you| في - in| ما - what| فعلن - they do| في - concerning| أنفسهن - themselves| من - [of]| معروف - honorably.| والله - And Allah| عزيز - (is) All-Mighty,| حكيم - All-Wise.| | ||||||
