| 1 [2:177] | Laysa albirra an tuwalloo wujoohakum qibalaalmashriqi waalmaghribi walakinna albirra man amanabiAllahi waalyawmi al-akhiri waalmala-ikatiwaalkitabi waalnnabiyyeena waataalmala AAala hubbihi thawee alqurbawaalyatama waalmasakeena waibnaalssabeeli waalssa-ileena wafee alrriqabiwaaqama alssalata waataalzzakata waalmoofoona biAAahdihim ithaAAahadoo waalssabireena fee alba/sa-iwaalddarra-i waheena alba/si ola-ikaallatheena sadaqoo waola-ika humualmuttaqoona |  ليس البر أن تولوا وجوهكم قبل المشرق والمغرب ولكن البر من آمن بالله واليوم الآخر والملائكة والكتاب والنبيين وآتى المال على حبه ذوي القربى واليتامى والمساكين وابن السبيل والسائلين وفي الرقاب وأقام الصلاة وآتى الزكاة والموفون بعهدهم إذا عاهدوا والصابرين في البأساء والضراء وحين البأس أولئك الذين صدقوا وأولئك هم المتقونلَّيْسَ الْبِرَّ أَن تُوَلُّواْ وُجُوهَكُمْ قِبَلَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَلَـكِنَّ الْبِرَّ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَالْمَلآئِكَةِ وَالْكِتَابِ وَالنَّبِيِّينَ وَآتَى الْمَالَ عَلَى حُبِّهِ ذَوِي الْقُرْبَى وَالْيَتَامَى وَالْمَسَاكِينَ وَابْنَ السَّبِيلِ وَالسَّآئِلِينَ وَفِي الرِّقَابِ وَأَقَامَ الصَّلاةَ وَآتَى الزَّكَاةَ وَالْمُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِهِمْ إِذَا عَاهَدُواْ وَالصَّابِرِينَ فِي الْبَأْسَاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ وَحِينَ الْبَأْسِ أُولَـئِكَ الَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا وَأُولَـئِكَ هُمُ الْمُتَّقُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ليس - It is not| البر - [the] righteousness| أن - that| تولوا - you turn| وجوهكم - your faces| قبل - towards| المشرق - the east| والمغرب - and the west,| ولكن - [and] but| البر - the righteous[ness]| من - (is he) who| آمن - believes| بالله - in Allah| واليوم - and the Day| الآخر - [the] Last,| والملائكة - and the Angels,| والكتاب - and the Book,| والنبيين - and the Prophets,| وآتى - and gives| المال - the wealth| على - in| حبه - spite of his love (for it)| ذوي - (to) those| القربى - (of) the near relatives,| واليتامى - and the orphans,| والمساكين - and the needy,| وابن - and (of)| السبيل - the wayfarer,| والسائلين - and those who ask,| وفي - and in| الرقاب - freeing the necks (slaves)| وأقام - and (who) establish| الصلاة - the prayer,| وآتى - and give| الزكاة - the zakah,| والموفون - and those who fulfill| بعهدهم - their covenant| إذا - when| عاهدوا - they make it;| والصابرين - and those who are patient| في - in| البأساء - [the] suffering| والضراء - and [the] hardship,| وحين - and (the) time| البأس - (of) [the] stress.| أولئك - Those| الذين - (are) the ones who| صدقوا - are true| وأولئك - and those,| هم - [they]| المتقون - (are) the righteous.| | ||||||
| 2 [2:214] | Am hasibtum an tadkhuloo aljannatawalamma ya/tikum mathalu allatheena khalaw minqablikum massat-humu alba/sao waalddarraowazulziloo hatta yaqoola alrrasoolu waallatheenaamanoo maAAahu mata nasru Allahi alainna nasra Allahi qareebun | أم حسبتم أن تدخلوا الجنة ولما يأتكم مثل الذين خلوا من قبلكم مستهم البأساء والضراء وزلزلوا حتى يقول الرسول والذين آمنوا معه متى نصر الله ألا إن نصر الله قريب أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَن تَدْخُلُواْ الْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَأْتِكُم مَّثَلُ الَّذِينَ خَلَوْاْ مِن قَبْلِكُم مَّسَّتْهُمُ الْبَأْسَاءُ وَالضَّرَّاءُ وَزُلْزِلُواْ حَتَّى يَقُولَ الرَّسُولُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ مَعَهُ مَتَى نَصْرُ اللّهِ أَلا إِنَّ نَصْرَ اللّهِ قَرِيبٌ | |||||
| Words | |أم - Or| حسبتم - (do) you think| أن - that| تدخلوا - you will enter| الجنة - Paradise| ولما - while not| يأتكم - (has) come to you| مثل - like (came to)| الذين - those who| خلوا - passed away| من - from| قبلكم - before you?| مستهم - Touched them| البأساء - [the] adversity| والضراء - and [the] hardship,| وزلزلوا - and they were shaken| حتى - until| يقول - said| الرسول - the Messenger| والذين - and those who| آمنوا - believed| معه - with him,| متى - "When| نصر - [will] (the) help| الله - (of) Allah (come)| ألا - Unquestionably,| إن - [Indeed]| نصر - help| الله - (of) Allah| قريب - (is) near.| | ||||||
| 3 [3:134] | Allatheena yunfiqoona fee alssarra-iwaalddarra-i waalkathimeenaalghaytha waalAAafeena AAani alnnasiwaAllahu yuhibbu almuhsineena | الذين ينفقون في السراء والضراء والكاظمين الغيظ والعافين عن الناس والله يحب المحسنين الَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ فِي السَّرَّاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ وَالْكَاظِمِينَ الْغَيْظَ وَالْعَافِينَ عَنِ النَّاسِ وَاللّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ | |||||

| 4 [6:42] | Walaqad arsalna ila omamin minqablika faakhathnahum bialba/sa-i waalddarra-ilaAAallahum yatadarraAAoona | ولقد أرسلنا إلى أمم من قبلك فأخذناهم بالبأساء والضراء لعلهم يتضرعون وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَى أُمَمٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ بِالْبَأْسَاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَضَرَّعُونَ | |||||

| 5 [7:94] | Wama arsalna fee qaryatin minnabiyyin illa akhathna ahlaha bialba/sa-iwaalddarra-i laAAallahum yaddarraAAoona | وما أرسلنا في قرية من نبي إلا أخذنا أهلها بالبأساء والضراء لعلهم يضرعون وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا فِي قَرْيَةٍ مِّن نَّبِيٍّ إِلاَّ أَخَذْنَا أَهْلَهَا بِالْبَأْسَاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَضَّرَّعُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وما - And not| أرسلنا - We sent| في - in| قرية - a city| من - any| نبي - Prophet| إلا - except| أخذنا - We seized| أهلها - its people| بالبأساء - with adversity| والضراء - and hardship,| لعلهم - so that they may| يضرعون - (become) humble.| | ||||||
