| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[5:45] | Wakatabna AAalayhim feeha annaalnnafsa bialnnafsi waalAAayna bialAAayniwaal-anfa bial-anfi waalothuna bialothuniwaalssinna bialssinni waaljurooha qisasunfaman tasaddaqa bihi fahuwa kaffaratun lahu wamanlam yahkum bima anzala Allahu faola-ikahumu alththalimoona
|  وكتبنا عليهم فيها أن النفس بالنفس والعين بالعين والأنف بالأنف والأذن بالأذن والسن بالسن والجروح قصاص فمن تصدق به فهو كفارة له ومن لم يحكم بما أنزل الله فأولئك هم الظالمون
وَكَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ فِيهَا أَنَّ النَّفْسَ بِالنَّفْسِ وَالْعَيْنَ بِالْعَيْنِ وَالْأَنفَ بِالْأَنفِ وَالْأُذُنَ بِالْأُذُنِ وَالسِّنَّ بِالسِّنِّ وَالْجُرُوحَ قِصَاصٌ فَمَن تَصَدَّقَ بِهِ فَهُوَ كَفَّارَةٌ لَّهُ وَمَن لَّمْ يَحْكُم بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللّهُ فَأُوْلَـئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ |
| Words | |وكتبنا - And We ordained| عليهم - for them| فيها - in it| أن - that -| النفس - the life| بالنفس - for the life,| والعين - and the eye| بالعين - for the eye,| والأنف - and the nose| بالأنف - for the nose,| والأذن - and the ear| بالأذن - for the ear,| والسن - and the tooth| بالسن - for the tooth,| والجروح - and (for) wounds| قصاص - (is) retribution.| فمن - But whoever| تصدق - gives charity| به - with it,| فهو - then it is| كفارة - an expiation| له - for him.| ومن - And whoever| لم - (does) not| يحكم - judge| بما - by what| أنزل - has revealed| الله - Allah,| فأولئك - then those| هم - [they]| الظالمون - (are) the wrongdoers.| |
