| 1 [2:30] | Wa-ith qala rabbuka lilmala-ikatiinnee jaAAilun fee al-ardi khaleefatan qalooatajAAalu feeha man yufsidu feeha wayasfiku alddimaawanahnu nusabbihu bihamdika wanuqaddisu lakaqala innee aAAlamu ma la taAAlamoona |  وإذ قال ربك للملائكة إني جاعل في الأرض خليفة قالوا أتجعل فيها من يفسد فيها ويسفك الدماء ونحن نسبح بحمدك ونقدس لك قال إني أعلم ما لا تعلمونوَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلاَئِكَةِ إِنِّي جَاعِلٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ خَلِيفَةً قَالُواْ أَتَجْعَلُ فِيهَا مَن يُّفْسِدُ فِيهَا وَيَسْفِكُ الدِّمَاءَ وَنَحْنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِكَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَ قَالَ إِنِّي أَعْلَمُ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قال - said| ربك - your Lord| للملائكة - to the angels,| إني - "Indeed, I (am)| جاعل - going to place| في - in| الأرض - the earth| خليفة - a vicegerent,| قالوا - they said,| أتجعل - "Will You place| فيها - in it| من - (one) who| يفسد - will spread corruption| فيها - in it| ويسفك - and will shed| الدماء - [the] blood[s],| ونحن - while we,| نسبح - [we] glorify (You)| بحمدك - with Your praises| ونقدس - and we sanctify| لك - [to] You."| قال - He said,| إني - "Indeed, I| أعلم - [I] know| ما - what| لا - not| تعلمون - you know."| | ||||||
| 2 [2:34] | Wa-ith qulna lilmala-ikatiosjudoo li-adama fasajadoo illa ibleesa abawaistakbara wakana mina alkafireena | وإذ قلنا للملائكة اسجدوا لآدم فسجدوا إلا إبليس أبى واستكبر وكان من الكافرين وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلاَئِكَةِ اسْجُدُواْ لِآدَمَ فَسَجَدُواْ إِلاَّ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَى وَاسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قلنا - We said| للملائكة - to the angels,| اسجدوا - "Prostrate| لآدم - to Adam,"| فسجدوا - [so] they prostrated| إلا - except| إبليس - Iblis.| أبى - He refused| واستكبر - and was arrogant| وكان - and became| من - of| الكافرين - the disbelievers.| | ||||||
| 3 [2:49] | Wa-ith najjaynakum min alifirAAawna yasoomoonakum soo-a alAAathabi yuthabbihoonaabnaakum wayastahyoona nisaakum wafee thalikumbalaon min rabbikum AAatheemun | وإذ نجيناكم من آل فرعون يسومونكم سوء العذاب يذبحون أبناءكم ويستحيون نساءكم وفي ذلكم بلاء من ربكم عظيم وَإِذْ نَجَّيْنَاكُمْ مِّنْ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوْءَ الْعَذَابِ يُذَبِّحُونَ أَبْنَاءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَاءَكُمْ وَفِي ذَلِكُم بَلاَءٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| نجيناكم - We saved you| من - from| آل - (the) people| فرعون - (of) Firaun| يسومونكم - (who were) afflicting you (with)| سوء - horrible| العذاب - torment,| يذبحون - slaughtering| أبناءكم - your sons| ويستحيون - and letting live| نساءكم - your women.| وفي - And in| ذلكم - that| بلاء - (was) a trial| من - from| ربكم - your Lord| عظيم - great.| | ||||||
| 4 [2:50] | Wa-ith faraqna bikumu albahrafaanjaynakum waaghraqna ala firAAawnawaantum tanthuroona | وإذ فرقنا بكم البحر فأنجيناكم وأغرقنا آل فرعون وأنتم تنظرون وَإِذْ فَرَقْنَا بِكُمُ الْبَحْرَ فَأَنجَيْنَاكُمْ وَأَغْرَقْنَا آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| فرقنا - We parted| بكم - for you| البحر - the sea,| فأنجيناكم - then We saved you,| وأغرقنا - and We drowned| آل - (the) people| فرعون - (of) Firaun| وأنتم - while you| تنظرون - (were) looking.| | ||||||
| 5 [2:51] | Wa-ith waAAadna moosaarbaAAeena laylatan thumma ittakhathtumu alAAijla minbaAAdihi waantum thalimoona | وإذ واعدنا موسى أربعين ليلة ثم اتخذتم العجل من بعده وأنتم ظالمون وَإِذْ وَاعَدْنَا مُوسَى أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً ثُمَّ اتَّخَذْتُمُ الْعِجْلَ مِن بَعْدِهِ وَأَنتُمْ ظَالِمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| واعدنا - We appointed| موسى - (for) Musa| أربعين - forty| ليلة - nights.| ثم - Then| اتخذتم - you took| العجل - the calf| من - from| بعده - after him| وأنتم - and you| ظالمون - (were) wrongdoers.| | ||||||
| 6 [2:53] | Wa-ith atayna moosaalkitaba waalfurqana laAAallakum tahtadoona | وإذ آتينا موسى الكتاب والفرقان لعلكم تهتدون وَإِذْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ وَالْفُرْقَانَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| آتينا - We gave| موسى - Musa| الكتاب - the Book| والفرقان - and the Criterion,| لعلكم - perhaps you| تهتدون - (would be) guided.| | ||||||
| 7 [2:54] | Wa-ith qala moosaliqawmihi ya qawmi innakum thalamtumanfusakum biittikhathikumu alAAijla fatooboo ilabari-ikum faoqtuloo anfusakum thalikumkhayrun lakum AAinda bari-ikum fataba AAalaykuminnahu huwa alttawwabu alrraheemu | وإذ قال موسى لقومه يا قوم إنكم ظلمتم أنفسكم باتخاذكم العجل فتوبوا إلى بارئكم فاقتلوا أنفسكم ذلكم خير لكم عند بارئكم فتاب عليكم إنه هو التواب الرحيم وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ يَا قَوْمِ إِنَّكُمْ ظَلَمْتُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ بِاتِّخَاذِكُمُ الْعِجْلَ فَتُوبُواْ إِلَى بَارِئِكُمْ فَاقْتُلُواْ أَنْـفُسَكُمْ ذَلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ عِندَ بَارِئِكُمْ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِنَّهُ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قال - said| موسى - Musa| لقومه - to his people,| يا - O| قوم - "O my people!| إنكم - Indeed, you| ظلمتم - [you] have wronged| أنفسكم - yourselves| باتخاذكم - by your taking| العجل - the calf.| فتوبوا - So turn in repentance| إلى - to| بارئكم - your Creator,| فاقتلوا - and kill| أنفسكم - yourselves.| ذلكم - That| خير - (is) better| لكم - for you| عند - with| بارئكم - your Creator."| فتاب - Then He turned| عليكم - towards you.| إنه - Indeed He!| هو - He| التواب - (is) the-returning,| الرحيم - the Most Merciful.| | ||||||
| 8 [2:55] | Wa-ith qultum ya moosalan nu/mina laka hatta nara Allahajahratan faakhathatkumu alssaAAiqatu waantumtanthuroona | وإذ قلتم يا موسى لن نؤمن لك حتى نرى الله جهرة فأخذتكم الصاعقة وأنتم تنظرون وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَا مُوسَى لَن نُّؤْمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّى نَرَى اللَّهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْكُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قلتم - you said,| يا - O| موسى - "O Musa!| لن - Never| نؤمن - (will) we believe| لك - in you| حتى - until| نرى - we see| الله - Allah| جهرة - manifestly."| فأخذتكم - So seized you| الصاعقة - the thunderbolt| وأنتم - while you| تنظرون - (were) looking.| | ||||||
| 9 [2:58] | Wa-ith qulna odkhuloo hathihialqaryata fakuloo minha haythu shi/tum raghadan waodkhulooalbaba sujjadan waqooloo hittatun naghfirlakum khatayakum wasanazeedu almuhsineena | وإذ قلنا ادخلوا هذه القرية فكلوا منها حيث شئتم رغدا وادخلوا الباب سجدا وقولوا حطة نغفر لكم خطاياكم وسنزيد المحسنين وَإِذْ قُلْنَا ادْخُلُواْ هَـذِهِ الْقَرْيَةَ فَكُلُواْ مِنْهَا حَيْثُ شِئْتُمْ رَغَداً وَّادْخُلُواْ الْبَابَ سُجَّداً وَّقُولُواْ حِطَّةٌ نَّغْفِرْ لَكُمْ خَطَايَاكُمْ وَسَنَزِيدُ الْمُحْسِنِينَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قلنا - We said,| ادخلوا - "Enter| هذه - this| القرية - town,| فكلوا - then eat| منها - from| حيث - wherever| شئتم - you wish[ed]| رغدا - abundantly,| وادخلوا - and enter| الباب - the gate| سجدا - prostrating.| وقولوا - And say,| حطة - "Repentance."| نغفر - We will forgive| لكم - for you| خطاياكم - your sins.| وسنزيد - And We will increase| المحسنين - the good-doers (in reward)."| | ||||||
| 10 [2:60] | Wa-ithi istasqa moosaliqawmihi faqulna idrib biAAasaka alhajarafainfajarat minhu ithnata AAashrata AAaynan qadAAalima kullu onasin mashrabahum kuloo waishraboomin rizqi Allahi wala taAAthaw fee al-ardimufsideena | وإذ استسقى موسى لقومه فقلنا اضرب بعصاك الحجر فانفجرت منه اثنتا عشرة عينا قد علم كل أناس مشربهم كلوا واشربوا من رزق الله ولا تعثوا في الأرض مفسدين وَإِذِ اسْتَسْقَى مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ فَقُلْنَا اضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ الْحَجَرَ فَانْفَجَرَتْ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْناً قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ كُلُواْ وَاشْرَبُواْ مِن رِّزْقِ اللَّهِ وَلاَ تَعْثَوْاْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| استسقى - asked (for) water| موسى - Musa| لقومه - for his people,| فقلنا - [so] We said,| اضرب - "Strike| بعصاك - with your staff| الحجر - the stone."| فانفجرت - Then gushed forth| منه - from it| اثنتا - (of)| عشرة - twelve| عينا - springs.| قد - Indeed| علم - knew| كل - all| أناس - (the) people| مشربهم - their drinking place.| كلوا - "Eat| واشربوا - and drink| من - from| رزق - (the) provision (of)| الله - Allah,| ولا - and (do) not| تعثوا - act wickedly| في - in| الأرض - the earth| مفسدين - spreading corruption."| | ||||||
| 11 [2:61] | Wa-ith qultum ya moosalan nasbira AAala taAAamin wahidinfaodAAu lana rabbaka yukhrij lana mimmatunbitu al-ardu min baqliha waqiththa-ihawafoomiha waAAadasiha wabasaliha qalaatastabdiloona allathee huwa adna biallatheehuwa khayrun ihbitoo misran fa-inna lakum masaaltum waduribat AAalayhimu alththillatu waalmaskanatuwabaoo bighadabin mina Allahi thalikabi-annahum kanoo yakfuroona bi-ayati Allahiwayaqtuloona alnnabiyyeena bighayri alhaqqi thalikabima AAasaw wakanoo yaAAtadoona | وإذ قلتم يا موسى لن نصبر على طعام واحد فادع لنا ربك يخرج لنا مما تنبت الأرض من بقلها وقثائها وفومها وعدسها وبصلها قال أتستبدلون الذي هو أدنى بالذي هو خير اهبطوا مصرا فإن لكم ما سألتم وضربت عليهم الذلة والمسكنة وباءوا بغضب من الله ذلك بأنهم كانوا يكفرون بآيات الله ويقتلون النبيين بغير الحق ذلك بما عصوا وكانوا يعتدون وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَا مُوسَى لَن نَّصْبِرَ عَلَى طَعَامٍ وَّاحِدٍ فَادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُخْرِجْ لَنَا مِمَّا تُنْبِتُ الأَرْضُ مِنْ بَقْلِهَا وَقِثَّآئِهَا وَفُومِهَا وَعَدَسِهَا وَبَصَلِهَا قَالَ أَتَسْتَبْدِلُونَ الَّذِي هُوَ أَدْنَى بِالَّذِي هُوَ خَيْرٌ اهْبِطُواْ مِصْراً فَإِنَّ لَكُم مَّا سَأَلْتُمْ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الذِّلَّةُ وَالْمَسْكَنَةُ وَبَآؤُوْاْ بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ يَكْفُرُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ النَّبِيِّيْنَ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ ذَلِكَ بِمَا عَصَواْ وَّكَانُواْ يَعْتَدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قلتم - you said,| يا - O| موسى - "O Musa!| لن - Never (will)| نصبر - we endure| على - [on]| طعام - food| واحد - (of) one (kind),| فادع - so pray| لنا - for us| ربك - (to) your Lord| يخرج - to bring forth| لنا - for us| مما - out of what| تنبت - grows| الأرض - the earth,| من - of| بقلها - its herbs,| وقثائها - [and] its cucumbers,| وفومها - [and] its garlic,| وعدسها - [and] its lentils,| وبصلها - and its onions."| قال - He said,| أتستبدلون - "Would you exchange| الذي - that which| هو - [it]| أدنى - (is) inferior| بالذي - for that which| هو - [it]| خير - (is) better?| اهبطوا - Go down| مصرا - (to) a city,| فإن - so indeed| لكم - for you| ما - (is) what| سألتم - you have asked (for)."| وضربت - And were struck| عليهم - on them| الذلة - the humiliation| والمسكنة - and the misery| وباءوا - and they drew on themselves| بغضب - wrath| من - of| الله - Allah| ذلك - That (was)| بأنهم - because they| كانوا - used to| يكفرون - disbelieve| بآيات - in (the) Signs| الله - (of) Allah| ويقتلون - and kill| النبيين - the Prophets| بغير - without (any)| الحق - [the] right.| ذلك - That| بما - (was) because| عصوا - they disobeyed| وكانوا - and they were| يعتدون - transgressing.| | ||||||
| 12 [2:63] | Wa-ith akhathna meethaqakumwarafaAAna fawqakumu alttoora khuthooma ataynakum biquwwatin waothkurooma feehi laAAallakum tattaqoona | وإذ أخذنا ميثاقكم ورفعنا فوقكم الطور خذوا ما آتيناكم بقوة واذكروا ما فيه لعلكم تتقون وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيْثَاقَكُمْ وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَكُمُ الطُّورَ خُذُواْ مَا آتَيْنَاكُمْ بِقُوَّةٍ وَّاذْكُرُواْ مَا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| أخذنا - We took| ميثاقكم - your covenant| ورفعنا - and We raised| فوقكم - over you| الطور - the mount,| خذوا - "Hold| ما - what| آتيناكم - We have given you| بقوة - with strength,| واذكروا - and remember| ما - what| فيه - (is) in it,| لعلكم - perhaps you| تتقون - (would become) righteous."| | ||||||
| 13 [2:67] | Wa-ith qala moosaliqawmihi inna Allaha ya/murukum an tathbahoobaqaratan qaloo atattakhithuna huzuwan qalaaAAoothu biAllahi an akoona mina aljahileena | وإذ قال موسى لقومه إن الله يأمركم أن تذبحوا بقرة قالوا أتتخذنا هزوا قال أعوذ بالله أن أكون من الجاهلين وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ إِنَّ اللّهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تَذْبَحُواْ بَقَرَةً قَالُواْ أَتَتَّخِذُنَا هُزُواً قَالَ أَعُوذُ بِاللّهِ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِينَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قال - said| موسى - Musa| لقومه - to his people,| إن - "Indeed,| الله - Allah| يأمركم - commands you| أن - that| تذبحوا - you slaughter| بقرة - a cow."| قالوا - They said,| أتتخذنا - "Do you take us| هزوا - (in) ridicule."| قال - He said,| أعوذ - "I seek refuge| بالله - in Allah| أن - that| أكون - I be| من - among| الجاهلين - the ignorant."| | ||||||
| 14 [2:72] | Wa-ith qataltum nafsan faiddara/tumfeeha waAllahu mukhrijun ma kuntumtaktumoona | وإذ قتلتم نفسا فادارأتم فيها والله مخرج ما كنتم تكتمون وَإِذْ قَتَلْتُمْ نَفْساً فَادَّارَأْتُمْ فِيهَا وَاللّهُ مُخْرِجٌ مَّا كُنْـتُمْ تَكْتُمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قتلتم - you killed| نفسا - a man,| فادارأتم - then you disputed| فيها - concerning it,| والله - but Allah| مخرج - (is) the One Who brought forth| ما - what| كنتم - you were| تكتمون - concealing.| | ||||||
| 15 [2:83] | Wa-ith akhathna meethaqabanee isra-eela la taAAbudoona illa Allahawabialwalidayni ihsanan watheealqurba waalyatama waalmasakeeniwaqooloo lilnnasi husnan waaqeemoo alssalatawaatoo alzzakata thumma tawallaytum illaqaleelan minkum waantum muAAridoona | وإذ أخذنا ميثاق بني إسرائيل لا تعبدون إلا الله وبالوالدين إحسانا وذي القربى واليتامى والمساكين وقولوا للناس حسنا وأقيموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة ثم توليتم إلا قليلا منكم وأنتم معرضون وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَ بَنِىْ إِسْرَائِيلَ لاَ تَعْبُدُونَ إِلاَّ اللّهَ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَاناً وَّذِي الْقُرْبَى وَالْيَتَامَى وَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَقُولُواْ لِلنَّاسِ حُسْناً وَّأَقِيمُواْ الصَّلاَةَ وَآتُواْ الزَّكَاةَ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ إِلاَّ قَلِيْلاً مِّنكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ مُّعْرِضُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| أخذنا - We took| ميثاق - (the) covenant| بني - (from the) Children| إسرائيل - (of) Israel,| لا - "Not| تعبدون - you will worship| إلا - except| الله - Allah,| وبالوالدين - and with [the] parents| إحسانا - (be) good| وذي - and (with)| القربى - relatives| واليتامى - and [the] orphans| والمساكين - and the needy,| وقولوا - and speak| للناس - to [the] people| حسنا - good,| وأقيموا - and establish| الصلاة - the prayer| وآتوا - and give| الزكاة - the zakah."| ثم - Then| توليتم - you turned away,| إلا - except| قليلا - a few| منكم - of you,| وأنتم - and you (were)| معرضون - refusing.| | ||||||
| 16 [2:84] | Wa-ith akhathna meethaqakumla tasfikoona dimaakum wala tukhrijoonaanfusakum min diyarikum thumma aqrartum waantum tashhadoona | وإذ أخذنا ميثاقكم لا تسفكون دماءكم ولا تخرجون أنفسكم من دياركم ثم أقررتم وأنتم تشهدون وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَكُمْ لاَ تَسْفِكُونَ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَلاَ تُخْرِجُونَ أَنْفُسَكُم مِّنْ دِيَارِكُمْ ثُمَّ أَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَنتُمْ تَشْهَدُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| أخذنا - We took| ميثاقكم - your covenant,| لا - "Not| تسفكون - will you shed| دماءكم - your blood| ولا - and not| تخرجون - (will) evict| أنفسكم - yourselves| من - from| دياركم - your homes,"| ثم - then| أقررتم - you ratified| وأنتم - while you| تشهدون - (were) witnessing.| | ||||||
| 17 [2:93] | Wa-ith akhathna meethaqakumwarafaAAna fawqakumu alttoora khuthooma ataynakum biquwwatin waismaAAoo qaloosamiAAna waAAasayna waoshriboo feequloobihimu alAAijla bikufrihim qul bi/sama ya/murukumbihi eemanukum in kuntum mu/mineena | وإذ أخذنا ميثاقكم ورفعنا فوقكم الطور خذوا ما آتيناكم بقوة واسمعوا قالوا سمعنا وعصينا وأشربوا في قلوبهم العجل بكفرهم قل بئسما يأمركم به إيمانكم إن كنتم مؤمنين وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَكُمْ وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَكُمُ الطُّورَ خُذُواْ مَا آتَيْنَاكُمْ بِقُوَّةٍ وَّاسْمَعُواْ قَالُواْ سَمِعْنَا وَعَصَيْنَا وَأُشْرِبُواْ فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ الْعِجْلَ بِكُفْرِهِمْ قُلْ بِئْسَمَا يَأْمُرُكُمْ بِهِ إِيمَانُكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ مُّؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| أخذنا - We took| ميثاقكم - your covenant| ورفعنا - and We raised| فوقكم - over you| الطور - the mount,| خذوا - "Hold| ما - what| آتيناكم - We gave you,| بقوة - with firmness| واسمعوا - and listen."| قالوا - They said,| سمعنا - "We heard| وعصينا - and we disobeyed."| وأشربوا - And they were made to drink| في - in| قلوبهم - their hearts| العجل - (love of) the calf| بكفرهم - because of their disbelief.| قل - Say,| بئسما - "Evil (is) that| يأمركم - orders you (to do) it| به - with| إيمانكم - your faith,| إن - if| كنتم - you are| مؤمنين - believers."| | ||||||
| 18 [2:124] | Wa-ithi ibtala ibraheemarabbuhu bikalimatin faatammahunna qala innee jaAAilukalilnnasi imaman qala wamin thurriyyateeqala la yanalu AAahdee alththalimeena | وإذ ابتلى إبراهيم ربه بكلمات فأتمهن قال إني جاعلك للناس إماما قال ومن ذريتي قال لا ينال عهدي الظالمين وَإِذِ ابْتَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ رَبُّهُ بِكَلِمَاتٍ فَأَتَمَّهُنَّ قَالَ إِنِّي جَاعِلُكَ لِلنَّاسِ إِمَامًا قَالَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِي قَالَ لاَ يَنَالُ عَهْدِي الظَّالِمِينَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| ابتلى - tried| إبراهيم - Ibrahim| ربه - his Lord| بكلمات - with words| فأتمهن - and he fulfilled them,| قال - He said,| إني - "Indeed I| جاعلك - (am) the One to make you| للناس - for the mankind| إماما - a leader."| قال - He said,| ومن - "And from| ذريتي - my offspring?"| قال - He said,| لا - "(Does) not| ينال - reach| عهدي - My Covenant| الظالمين - (to) the wrongdoers."| | ||||||
| 19 [2:125] | Wa-ith jaAAalna albayta mathabatanlilnnasi waamnan waittakhithoo minmaqami ibraheema musallan waAAahidnaila ibraheema wa-ismaAAeela an tahhirabaytiya liltta-ifeena waalAAakifeenawaalrrukkaAAi alssujoodi | وإذ جعلنا البيت مثابة للناس وأمنا واتخذوا من مقام إبراهيم مصلى وعهدنا إلى إبراهيم وإسماعيل أن طهرا بيتي للطائفين والعاكفين والركع السجود وَإِذْ جَعَلْنَا الْبَيْتَ مَثَابَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَأَمْناً وَاتَّخِذُواْ مِن مَّقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى وَعَهِدْنَا إِلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ أَن طَهِّرَا بَيْتِيَ لِلطَّائِفِينَ وَالْعَاكِفِينَ وَالرُّكَّعِ السُّجُودِ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| جعلنا - We made| البيت - the House| مثابة - a place of return| للناس - for mankind| وأمنا - and (a place of) security| واتخذوا - and (said), "Take| من - [from]| مقام - (the) standing place| إبراهيم - (of) Ibrahim,| مصلى - (as) a place of prayer."| وعهدنا - And We made a covenant| إلى - with| إبراهيم - Ibrahim| وإسماعيل - and Ishmael| أن - [that],| طهرا - "[You both] purify| بيتي - My House| للطائفين - for those who circumambulate| والعاكفين - and those who seclude themselves for devotion and prayer| والركع - and those who bow down| السجود - and those who prostrate."| | ||||||
| 20 [2:126] | Wa-ith qala ibraheemurabbi ijAAal hatha baladan aminan waorzuqahlahu mina alththamarati man amana minhumbiAllahi waalyawmi al-akhiri qalawaman kafara faomattiAAuhu qaleelan thumma adtarruhu ilaAAathabi alnnari wabi/sa almaseeru | وإذ قال إبراهيم رب اجعل هذا بلدا آمنا وارزق أهله من الثمرات من آمن منهم بالله واليوم الآخر قال ومن كفر فأمتعه قليلا ثم أضطره إلى عذاب النار وبئس المصير وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ رَبِّ اجْعَلْ هَـَذَا بَلَدًا آمِنًا وَارْزُقْ أَهْلَهُ مِنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ مَنْ آمَنَ مِنْهُم بِاللّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ قَالَ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَأُمَتِّعُهُ قَلِيلاً ثُمَّ أَضْطَرُّهُ إِلَى عَذَابِ النَّارِ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| قال - said| إبراهيم - Ibrahim,| رب - "My Lord| اجعل - make| هذا - this| بلدا - a city| آمنا - secure| وارزق - and provide| أهله - its people| من - with| الثمرات - fruits,| من - (to) whoever| آمن - believed| منهم - from them| بالله - in Allah| واليوم - and the Day| الآخر - the Last,"| قال - He said,| ومن - "And whoever| كفر - disbelieved,| فأمتعه - [then] I will grant him enjoyment| قليلا - a little;| ثم - then| أضطره - I will force him| إلى - to| عذاب - (the) punishment| النار - (of) the Fire,| وبئس - and evil| المصير - (is) the destination.| | ||||||
