| 1 [2:66] | FajaAAalnaha nakalanlima bayna yadayha wama khalfahawamawAAithatan lilmuttaqeena |  فجعلناها نكالا لما بين يديها وما خلفها وموعظة للمتقينفَجَعَلْنَاهَا نَكَالاً لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهَا وَمَا خَلْفَهَا وَمَوْعِظَةً لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ | |||||
| Words | |فجعلناها - So We made it| نكالا - a deterrent punishment| لما - for those| بين - (in) front| يديها - (of) them| وما - and those| خلفها - after them| وموعظة - and an admonition| للمتقين - for those who fear (Allah).| | ||||||
| 2 [5:38] | Waalssariqu waalssariqatufaiqtaAAoo aydiyahuma jazaan bimakasaba nakalan mina Allahi waAllahuAAazeezun hakeemun | والسارق والسارقة فاقطعوا أيديهما جزاء بما كسبا نكالا من الله والله عزيز حكيم وَالسَّارِقُ وَالسَّارِقَةُ فَاقْطَعُواْ أَيْدِيَهُمَا جَزَاءً بِمَا كَسَبَا نَكَالاً مِّنَ اللّهِ وَاللّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |والسارق - And (for) the male thief| والسارقة - and the female thief -| فاقطعوا - [then] cut off| أيديهما - their hands| جزاء - (as) a recompense| بما - for what| كسبا - they earned| نكالا - (as) an exemplary (punishment)| من - from| الله - Allah.| والله - And Allah| عزيز - (is) All-Mighty,| حكيم - All-Wise.| | ||||||
