| 1 [3:110] | Kuntum khayra ommatin okhrijat lilnnasita/muroona bialmaAAroofi watanhawna AAani almunkariwatu/minoona biAllahi walaw amana ahlu alkitabilakana khayran lahum minhumu almu/minoona waaktharuhumualfasiqoona |  كنتم خير أمة أخرجت للناس تأمرون بالمعروف وتنهون عن المنكر وتؤمنون بالله ولو آمن أهل الكتاب لكان خيرا لهم منهم المؤمنون وأكثرهم الفاسقونكُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللّهِ وَلَوْ آمَنَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُم مِّنْهُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ | |||||
| Words | |كنتم - You are| خير - (the) best| أمة - (of) people| أخرجت - raised| للناس - for the mankind -| تأمرون - enjoining| بالمعروف - the right| وتنهون - and forbidding| عن - [from]| المنكر - the wrong| وتؤمنون - and believing| بالله - in Allah.| ولو - And if| آمن - believed| أهل - (the) People| الكتاب - (of) the Book| لكان - surely would have been| خيرا - good| لهم - for them.| منهم - Among them| المؤمنون - (are) [the] believers,| وأكثرهم - but most of them| الفاسقون - (are) defiantly disobedient.| | ||||||
| 2 [4:46] | Mina allatheena hadoo yuharrifoonaalkalima AAan mawadiAAihi wayaqooloona samiAAnawaAAasayna waismaAA ghayra musmaAAin waraAAinalayyan bi-alsinatihim wataAAnan fee alddeeni walawannahum qaloo samiAAna waataAAna waismaAAwaonthurna lakana khayranlahum waaqwama walakin laAAanahumu Allahubikufrihim fala yu/minoona illa qaleelan | من الذين هادوا يحرفون الكلم عن مواضعه ويقولون سمعنا وعصينا واسمع غير مسمع وراعنا ليا بألسنتهم وطعنا في الدين ولو أنهم قالوا سمعنا وأطعنا واسمع وانظرنا لكان خيرا لهم وأقوم ولكن لعنهم الله بكفرهم فلا يؤمنون إلا قليلا مِّنَ الَّذِينَ هَادُواْ يُحَرِّفُونَ الْكَلِمَ عَن مَّوَاضِعِهِ وَيَقُولُونَ سَمِعْنَا وَعَصَيْنَا وَاسْمَعْ غَيْرَ مُسْمَعٍ وَرَاعِنَا لَيًّا بِأَلْسِنَتِهِمْ وَطَعْنًا فِي الدِّينِ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ قَالُواْ سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا وَاسْمَعْ وَانْظُرْنَا لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ وَأَقْوَمَ وَلَكِن لَّعَنَهُمُ اللّهُ بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَلاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ إِلاَّ قَلِيلاً | |||||
| Words | |من - Of| الذين - those who| هادوا - are Jews,| يحرفون - they distort| الكلم - the words| عن - from| مواضعه - their places| ويقولون - and they say,| سمعنا - "We hear[d]| وعصينا - and we disobey[ed]"| واسمع - and "Hear| غير - not| مسمع - to be heard| وراعنا - and "Raina"| ليا - twisting| بألسنتهم - [with] their tongues| وطعنا - and defaming| في - [in]| الدين - the religion.| ولو - And if| أنهم - [that] they| قالوا - (had) said,| سمعنا - "We hear[d]| وأطعنا - and we obey[ed]"| واسمع - and "Hear| وانظرنا - and look (at) us,"| لكان - surely it (would) have been| خيرا - better| لهم - for them| وأقوم - and more suitable.| ولكن - [And] but| لعنهم - cursed them| الله - Allah| بكفرهم - for their disbelief,| فلا - so not| يؤمنون - they believe| إلا - except| قليلا - a few.| | ||||||
| 3 [4:66] | Walaw anna katabna AAalayhimani oqtuloo anfusakum awi okhrujoo min diyarikum mafaAAaloohu illa qaleelun minhum walaw annahum faAAaloo mayooAAathoona bihi lakana khayran lahumwaashadda tathbeetan | ولو أنا كتبنا عليهم أن اقتلوا أنفسكم أو اخرجوا من دياركم ما فعلوه إلا قليل منهم ولو أنهم فعلوا ما يوعظون به لكان خيرا لهم وأشد تثبيتا وَلَوْ أَنَّا كَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ أَنِ اقْتُلُواْ أَنفُسَكُمْ أَوِ اخْرُجُواْ مِن دِيَارِكُم مَّا فَعَلُوهُ إِلاَّ قَلِيلٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ فَعَلُواْ مَا يُوعَظُونَ بِهِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ تَثْبِيتًا | |||||
| Words | |ولو - And if| أنا - [that] We| كتبنا - (had) decreed| عليهم - on them| أن - that,| اقتلوا - "Kill| أنفسكم - yourselves"| أو - or| اخرجوا - "Go forth| من - from| دياركم - your homes,"| ما - not| فعلوه - they would have done it| إلا - except| قليل - a few| منهم - of them.| ولو - But if| أنهم - [that] they| فعلوا - had done| ما - what| يوعظون - they were advised| به - with [it],| لكان - surely (it) would have been| خيرا - better| لهم - for them| وأشد - and stronger| تثبيتا - strengthen(ing).| | ||||||
| 4 [20:129] | Walawla kalimatun sabaqat minrabbika lakana lizaman waajalun musamman | ولولا كلمة سبقت من ربك لكان لزاما وأجل مسمى وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَكَانَ لِزَامًا وَأَجَلٌ مُسَمًّى | |||||
| Words | |ولولا - And if not| كلمة - (for) a Word| سبقت - (that) preceded| من - from| ربك - your Lord,| لكان - surely (would) have been| لزاما - an obligation| وأجل - and a term| مسمى - determined.| | ||||||
| 5 [47:21] | TaAAatun waqawlun maAAroofun fa-ithaAAazama al-amru falaw sadaqoo Allaha lakanakhayran lahum | طاعة وقول معروف فإذا عزم الأمر فلو صدقوا الله لكان خيرا لهم طَاعَةٌ وَقَوْلٌ مَّعْرُوفٌ فَإِذَا عَزَمَ الْأَمْرُ فَلَوْ صَدَقُوا اللَّهَ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ | |||||
| Words | |طاعة - (Is) obedience| وقول - and a word| معروف - kind.| فإذا - And when| عزم - (is) determined| الأمر - the matter,| فلو - then if| صدقوا - they had been true| الله - (to) Allah,| لكان - surely, it would have been| خيرا - better| لهم - for them.| | ||||||
| 6 [49:5] | Walaw annahum sabaroo hattatakhruja ilayhim lakana khayran lahum waAllahughafoorun raheemun | ولو أنهم صبروا حتى تخرج إليهم لكان خيرا لهم والله غفور رحيم وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ صَبَرُوا حَتَّى تَخْرُجَ إِلَيْهِمْ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |ولو - And if| أنهم - they| صبروا - had been patient| حتى - until| تخرج - you came out| إليهم - to them| لكان - certainly it would be| خيرا - better| لهم - for them.| والله - And Allah| غفور - (is) Oft-Forgiving,| رحيم - Most Merciful.| | ||||||
