| 1 [2:20] | Yakadu albarqu yakhtafu absarahumkullama adaa lahum mashaw feehi wa-itha athlamaAAalayhim qamoo walaw shaa Allahu lathahababisamAAihim waabsarihim inna Allaha AAalakulli shay-in qadeerun |  يكاد البرق يخطف أبصارهم كلما أضاء لهم مشوا فيه وإذا أظلم عليهم قاموا ولو شاء الله لذهب بسمعهم وأبصارهم إن الله على كل شيء قديريَكَادُ الْبَرْقُ يَخْطَفُ أَبْصَارَهُمْ كُلَّمَا أَضَاءَ لَهُم مَّشَوْاْ فِيهِ وَإِذَا أَظْلَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ قَامُواْ وَلَوْ شَاء اللّهُ لَذَهَبَ بِسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَارِهِمْ إِنَّ اللَّه عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ | |||||
| Words | |يكاد - Almost| البرق - the lightning| يخطف - snatches away| أبصارهم - their sight.| كلما - Whenever| أضاء - it flashes| لهم - for them| مشوا - they walk| فيه - in it,| وإذا - and when| أظلم - it darkens| عليهم - on them| قاموا - they stand (still).| ولو - And if| شاء - had willed| الله - Allah,| لذهب - He would certainly have taken away| بسمعهم - their hearing,| وأبصارهم - and their sight.| إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| على - (is) on| كل - every| شيء - thing| قدير - All-Powerful.| | ||||||
| 2 [4:142] | Inna almunafiqeena yukhadiAAoonaAllaha wahuwa khadiAAuhum wa-itha qamooila alssalati qamoo kusalayuraoona alnnasa wala yathkuroonaAllaha illa qaleelan | إن المنافقين يخادعون الله وهو خادعهم وإذا قاموا إلى الصلاة قاموا كسالى يراءون الناس ولا يذكرون الله إلا قليلا إِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ يُخَادِعُونَ اللّهَ وَهُوَ خَادِعُهُمْ وَإِذَا قَامُواْ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ قَامُواْ كُسَالَى يُرَآؤُونَ النَّاسَ وَلاَ يَذْكُرُونَ اللّهَ إِلاَّ قَلِيلاً | |||||
| Words | |إن - Indeed,| المنافقين - the hypocrites| يخادعون - (seek to) deceive| الله - Allah| وهو - and (it is) He| خادعهم - who deceives them.| وإذا - And when| قاموا - they stand| إلى - for| الصلاة - the prayer,| قاموا - they stand| كسالى - lazily,| يراءون - showing off| الناس - (to) the people| ولا - and not| يذكرون - they remember| الله - Allah| إلا - except| قليلا - a little.| | ||||||
| 3 [18:14] | Warabatna AAalaquloobihim ith qamoo faqaloo rabbunarabbu alssamawati waal-ardilan nadAAuwa min doonihi ilahan laqad qulna ithanshatatan | وربطنا على قلوبهم إذ قاموا فقالوا ربنا رب السماوات والأرض لن ندعو من دونه إلها لقد قلنا إذا شططا وَرَبَطْنَا عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ إِذْ قَامُوا فَقَالُوا رَبُّنَا رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ لَن نَّدْعُوَاْ مِن دُونِهِ إِلَهًا لَّقَدْ قُلْنَا إِذًا شَطَطًا | |||||
| Words | |وربطنا - And We made firm| على - [on]| قلوبهم - their hearts| إذ - when| قاموا - they stood up| فقالوا - and said,| ربنا - "Our Lord| رب - (is) the Lord| السماوات - (of) the heavens| والأرض - and the earth.| لن - Never| ندعو - we will invoke| من - besides Him| دونه - besides Him| إلها - any god.| لقد - Certainly,| قلنا - we would have said,| إذا - then,| شططا - an enormity.| | ||||||
