| 1 [2:63] | Wa-ith akhathna meethaqakumwarafaAAna fawqakumu alttoora khuthooma ataynakum biquwwatin waothkurooma feehi laAAallakum tattaqoona |  وإذ أخذنا ميثاقكم ورفعنا فوقكم الطور خذوا ما آتيناكم بقوة واذكروا ما فيه لعلكم تتقونوَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيْثَاقَكُمْ وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَكُمُ الطُّورَ خُذُواْ مَا آتَيْنَاكُمْ بِقُوَّةٍ وَّاذْكُرُواْ مَا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| أخذنا - We took| ميثاقكم - your covenant| ورفعنا - and We raised| فوقكم - over you| الطور - the mount,| خذوا - "Hold| ما - what| آتيناكم - We have given you| بقوة - with strength,| واذكروا - and remember| ما - what| فيه - (is) in it,| لعلكم - perhaps you| تتقون - (would become) righteous."| | ||||||
| 2 [2:93] | Wa-ith akhathna meethaqakumwarafaAAna fawqakumu alttoora khuthooma ataynakum biquwwatin waismaAAoo qaloosamiAAna waAAasayna waoshriboo feequloobihimu alAAijla bikufrihim qul bi/sama ya/murukumbihi eemanukum in kuntum mu/mineena | وإذ أخذنا ميثاقكم ورفعنا فوقكم الطور خذوا ما آتيناكم بقوة واسمعوا قالوا سمعنا وعصينا وأشربوا في قلوبهم العجل بكفرهم قل بئسما يأمركم به إيمانكم إن كنتم مؤمنين وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَكُمْ وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَكُمُ الطُّورَ خُذُواْ مَا آتَيْنَاكُمْ بِقُوَّةٍ وَّاسْمَعُواْ قَالُواْ سَمِعْنَا وَعَصَيْنَا وَأُشْرِبُواْ فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ الْعِجْلَ بِكُفْرِهِمْ قُلْ بِئْسَمَا يَأْمُرُكُمْ بِهِ إِيمَانُكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ مُّؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذ - And when| أخذنا - We took| ميثاقكم - your covenant| ورفعنا - and We raised| فوقكم - over you| الطور - the mount,| خذوا - "Hold| ما - what| آتيناكم - We gave you,| بقوة - with firmness| واسمعوا - and listen."| قالوا - They said,| سمعنا - "We heard| وعصينا - and we disobeyed."| وأشربوا - And they were made to drink| في - in| قلوبهم - their hearts| العجل - (love of) the calf| بكفرهم - because of their disbelief.| قل - Say,| بئسما - "Evil (is) that| يأمركم - orders you (to do) it| به - with| إيمانكم - your faith,| إن - if| كنتم - you are| مؤمنين - believers."| | ||||||
| 3 [6:65] | Qul huwa alqadiru AAala anyabAAatha AAalaykum AAathaban min fawqikum aw min tahtiarjulikum aw yalbisakum shiyaAAan wayutheeqa baAAdakumba/sa baAAdin onthur kayfa nusarrifual-ayati laAAallahum yafqahoona | قل هو القادر على أن يبعث عليكم عذابا من فوقكم أو من تحت أرجلكم أو يلبسكم شيعا ويذيق بعضكم بأس بعض انظر كيف نصرف الآيات لعلهم يفقهون قُلْ هُوَ الْقَادِرُ عَلَى أَن يَبْعَثَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابًا مِّن فَوْقِكُمْ أَوْ مِن تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِكُمْ أَوْ يَلْبِسَكُمْ شِيَعاً وَيُذِيقَ بَعْضَكُم بَأْسَ بَعْضٍ انظُرْ كَيْفَ نُصَرِّفُ الْآيَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَفْقَهُونَ | |||||
| Words | |قل - Say,| هو - "He| القادر - (is) All-Capable| على - [on]| أن - to| يبعث - send| عليكم - upon you| عذابا - punishment| من - from| فوقكم - above you| أو - or| من - from| تحت - beneath| أرجلكم - your feet| أو - or| يلبسكم - (to) confuse you| شيعا - (into) sects| ويذيق - and make (you) taste -| بعضكم - some of you| بأس - violence| بعض - (of) others."| انظر - See| كيف - how| نصرف - We explain| الآيات - the Signs| لعلهم - so that they may| يفقهون - understand.| | ||||||
| 4 [23:17] | Walaqad khalaqna fawqakum sabAAa tara-iqawama kunna AAani alkhalqi ghafileena | ولقد خلقنا فوقكم سبع طرائق وما كنا عن الخلق غافلين وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعَ طَرَائِقَ وَمَا كُنَّا عَنِ الْخَلْقِ غَافِلِينَ | |||||
| Words | |ولقد - And indeed,| خلقنا - We (have) created| فوقكم - above you| سبع - seven| طرائق - paths| وما - and not| كنا - We are| عن - of| الخلق - the creation| غافلين - unaware.| | ||||||
| 5 [33:10] | Ith jaookum min fawqikum waminasfala minkum wa-ith zaghati al-absaruwabalaghati alquloobu alhanajira watathunnoonabiAllahi alththunoona | إذ جاءوكم من فوقكم ومن أسفل منكم وإذ زاغت الأبصار وبلغت القلوب الحناجر وتظنون بالله الظنونا إِذْ جَاؤُوكُم مِّن فَوْقِكُمْ وَمِنْ أَسْفَلَ مِنكُمْ وَإِذْ زَاغَتِ الْأَبْصَارُ وَبَلَغَتِ الْقُلُوبُ الْحَنَاجِرَ وَتَظُنُّونَ بِاللَّهِ الظُّنُونَا | |||||
| Words | |إذ - When| جاءوكم - they came upon you| من - from| فوقكم - above you| ومن - and from| أسفل - below| منكم - you,| وإذ - and when| زاغت - grew wild| الأبصار - the eyes| وبلغت - and reached| القلوب - the hearts| الحناجر - the throats,| وتظنون - and you assumed| بالله - about Allah| الظنونا - the assumptions.| | ||||||
| 6 [78:12] | Wabanayna fawqakum sabAAan shidadan | وبنينا فوقكم سبعا شدادا وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًا | |||||
