| 1 [3:106] | Yawma tabyaddu wujoohun wataswadduwujoohun faamma allatheena iswaddat wujoohuhumakafartum baAAda eemanikum fathooqoo alAAathababima kuntum takfuroona |  يوم تبيض وجوه وتسود وجوه فأما الذين اسودت وجوههم أكفرتم بعد إيمانكم فذوقوا العذاب بما كنتم تكفرونيَوْمَ تَبْيَضُّ وُجُوهٌ وَتَسْوَدُّ وُجُوهٌ فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ اسْوَدَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ أَكْفَرْتُم بَعْدَ إِيمَانِكُمْ فَذُوقُواْ الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |يوم - (On the) Day| تبيض - would become white| وجوه - (some) faces| وتسود - and would become black| وجوه - (some) faces.| فأما - As for| الذين - those whose| اسودت - turn black| وجوههم - [their] faces -| أكفرتم - "Did you disbelieve| بعد - after| إيمانكم - your belief?| فذوقوا - Then taste| العذاب - the punishment| بما - for what| كنتم - you used to| تكفرون - disbelieve."| | ||||||
| 2 [6:30] | Walaw tara ith wuqifoo AAalarabbihim qala alaysa hatha bialhaqqiqaloo bala warabbina qala fathooqooalAAathaba bima kuntum takfuroona | ولو ترى إذ وقفوا على ربهم قال أليس هذا بالحق قالوا بلى وربنا قال فذوقوا العذاب بما كنتم تكفرون وَلَوْ تَرَى إِذْ وُقِفُواْ عَلَى رَبِّهِمْ قَالَ أَلَيْسَ هَذَا بِالْحَقِّ قَالُواْ بَلَى وَرَبِّنَا قَالَ فَذُوقُواْ العَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ولو - And if| ترى - you (could) see| إذ - when| وقفوا - they will be made to stand| على - before| ربهم - their Lord.| قال - He (will) say,| أليس - "Is not| هذا - this| بالحق - the truth?"| قالوا - They will say,| بلى - "Yes,| وربنا - by our Lord."| قال - He (will) say,| فذوقوا - "So taste| العذاب - the punishment| بما - because| كنتم - you used to| تكفرون - disbelieve."| | ||||||
| 3 [7:39] | Waqalat oolahum li-okhrahumfama kana lakum AAalayna min fadlinfathooqoo alAAathaba bima kuntum taksiboona | وقالت أولاهم لأخراهم فما كان لكم علينا من فضل فذوقوا العذاب بما كنتم تكسبون وَقَالَتْ أُولاَهُمْ لِأُخْرَاهُمْ فَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلٍ فَذُوقُواْ الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وقالت - And (will) say| أولاهم - (the) first of them| لأخراهم - to (the) last of them,| فما - "Then not| كان - is| لكم - for you| علينا - upon us| من - any| فضل - superiority,| فذوقوا - so taste| العذاب - the punishment| بما - for what| كنتم - you used to| تكسبون - earn."| | ||||||
| 4 [8:35] | Wama kana salatuhumAAinda albayti illa mukaan watasdiyatan fathooqooalAAathaba bima kuntum takfuroona | وما كان صلاتهم عند البيت إلا مكاء وتصدية فذوقوا العذاب بما كنتم تكفرون وَمَا كَانَ صَلاَتُهُمْ عِندَ الْبَيْتِ إِلاَّ مُكَاءً وَتَصْدِيَةً فَذُوقُواْ الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وما - And not| كان - was| صلاتهم - their prayer| عند - at| البيت - the House| إلا - except| مكاء - whistling| وتصدية - and clapping.| فذوقوا - So taste| العذاب - the punishment| بما - because| كنتم - you used to| تكفرون - disbelieve.| | ||||||
| 5 [9:35] | Yawma yuhma AAalayhafee nari jahannama fatukwa biha jibahuhumwajunoobuhum wathuhooruhum hatha makanaztum li-anfusikum fathooqoo ma kuntum taknizoona | يوم يحمى عليها في نار جهنم فتكوى بها جباههم وجنوبهم وظهورهم هذا ما كنزتم لأنفسكم فذوقوا ما كنتم تكنزون يَوْمَ يُحْمَى عَلَيْهَا فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ فَتُكْوَى بِهَا جِبَاهُهُمْ وَجُنوبُهُمْ وَظُهُورُهُمْ هَـذَا مَا كَنَزْتُمْ لِأَنفُسِكُمْ فَذُوقُواْ مَا كُنتُمْ تَكْنِزُونَ | |||||
| Words | |يوم - (The) Day| يحمى - it will be heated [on it]| عليها - it will be heated [on it]| في - in| نار - the Fire| جهنم - (of) Hell,| فتكوى - and will be branded| بها - with it| جباههم - their foreheads| وجنوبهم - and their flanks| وظهورهم - and their backs,| هذا - "This| ما - (is) what| كنزتم - you hoarded| لأنفسكم - for yourselves,| فذوقوا - so taste| ما - what| كنتم - you used to| تكنزون - hoard."| | ||||||
| 6 [32:14] | Fathooqoo bima naseetum liqaayawmikum hatha inna naseenakum wathooqooAAathaba alkhuldi bima kuntum taAAmaloona | فذوقوا بما نسيتم لقاء يومكم هذا إنا نسيناكم وذوقوا عذاب الخلد بما كنتم تعملون فَذُوقُوا بِمَا نَسِيتُمْ لِقَاءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا إِنَّا نَسِينَاكُمْ وَذُوقُوا عَذَابَ الْخُلْدِ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |فذوقوا - So taste| بما - because| نسيتم - you forgot| لقاء - (the) meeting,| يومكم - (of) this Day of yours.| هذا - (of) this Day of yours.| إنا - Indeed, We| نسيناكم - have forgotten you.| وذوقوا - And taste| عذاب - (the) punishment| الخلد - (of) eternity| بما - for what| كنتم - you used (to)| تعملون - do."| | ||||||
| 7 [35:37] | Wahum yastarikhoona feeharabbana akhrijna naAAmal salihanghayra allathee kunna naAAmalu awa lam nuAAammirkumma yatathakkaru feehi man tathakkara wajaakumualnnatheeru fathooqoo fama lilththalimeenamin naseerin | وهم يصطرخون فيها ربنا أخرجنا نعمل صالحا غير الذي كنا نعمل أولم نعمركم ما يتذكر فيه من تذكر وجاءكم النذير فذوقوا فما للظالمين من نصير وَهُمْ يَصْطَرِخُونَ فِيهَا رَبَّنَا أَخْرِجْنَا نَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا غَيْرَ الَّذِي كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ أَوَلَمْ نُعَمِّرْكُم مَّا يَتَذَكَّرُ فِيهِ مَن تَذَكَّرَ وَجَاءَكُمُ النَّذِيرُ فَذُوقُوا فَمَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ مِن نَّصِيرٍ | |||||
| Words | |وهم - And they| يصطرخون - will cry| فيها - therein,| ربنا - "Our Lord!| أخرجنا - Bring us out;| نعمل - we will do| صالحا - righteous (deeds)| غير - other than| الذي - (that) which| كنا - we used| نعمل - (to) do."| أولم - Did not| نعمركم - We give you life long enough| ما - that| يتذكر - (would) receive admonition| فيه - therein| من - whoever| تذكر - receives admonition?| وجاءكم - And came to you| النذير - the warner.| فذوقوا - So taste,| فما - then not| للظالمين - (is) for the wrongdoers| من - any| نصير - helper.| | ||||||
| 8 [46:34] | Wayawma yuAAradu allatheenakafaroo AAala alnnari alaysa hatha bialhaqqiqaloo bala warabbina qala fathooqooalAAathaba bima kuntum takfuroona | ويوم يعرض الذين كفروا على النار أليس هذا بالحق قالوا بلى وربنا قال فذوقوا العذاب بما كنتم تكفرون وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا عَلَى النَّارِ أَلَيْسَ هَذَا بِالْحَقِّ قَالُوا بَلَى وَرَبِّنَا قَالَ فَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ويوم - And (the) Day,| يعرض - are exposed| الذين - those who| كفروا - disbelieved| على - to| النار - the Fire,| أليس - "Is not| هذا - this| بالحق - the truth?"| قالوا - They will say,| بلى - "Yes| وربنا - by our Lord."| قال - He will say,| فذوقوا - "Then taste| العذاب - the punishment| بما - because| كنتم - you used to| تكفرون - disbelieve."| | ||||||
| 9 [54:37] | Walaqad rawadoohu AAan dayfihifatamasna aAAyunahum fathooqoo AAathabeewanuthuri | ولقد راودوه عن ضيفه فطمسنا أعينهم فذوقوا عذابي ونذر وَلَقَدْ رَاوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيْفِهِ فَطَمَسْنَا أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ | |||||
| Words | |ولقد - And certainly| راودوه - they demanded from him| عن - they demanded from him| ضيفه - his guests,| فطمسنا - so We blinded| أعينهم - their eyes.| فذوقوا - "So taste| عذابي - My punishment| ونذر - and My warnings."| | ||||||
