| 1 [2:80] | Waqaloo lan tamassana alnnaruilla ayyaman maAAdoodatan qul attakhathtumAAinda Allahi AAahdan falan yukhlifa AllahuAAahdahu am taqooloona AAala Allahi ma lataAAlamoona |  وقالوا لن تمسنا النار إلا أياما معدودة قل أتخذتم عند الله عهدا فلن يخلف الله عهده أم تقولون على الله ما لا تعلمونوَقَالُواْ لَنْ تَمَسَّنَا النَّارُ إِلاَّ أَيَّاماً مَّعْدُوْدَةً قُلْ أَتَّخَذْتُمْ عِنْدَ اللّهِ عَهْدًا فَلَنْ يُّخْلِفَ اللّهُ عَهْدَهُ أَمْ تَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللّهِ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وقالوا - And they say,| لن - "Never| تمسنا - will touch us| النار - the Fire| إلا - except| أياما - (for) days| معدودة - numbered."| قل - Say,| أتخذتم - "Have you taken| عند - from| الله - Allah| عهدا - a covenant,| فلن - so never| يخلف - will break| الله - Allah| عهده - His Covenant?| أم - Or| تقولون - (do) you say| على - against| الله - Allah| ما - what| لا - not| تعلمون - you know?"| | ||||||
| 2 [2:100] | Awa kullama AAahadoo AAahdannabathahu fareequn minhum bal aktharuhum layu/minoona | أوكلما عاهدوا عهدا نبذه فريق منهم بل أكثرهم لا يؤمنون أَوَكُلَّمَا عَاهَدُواْ عَهْداً نَّبَذَهُ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ | |||||
| Words | |أوكلما - And is (it not that) whenever| عاهدوا - they took| عهدا - a covenant,| نبذه - threw it away| فريق - a party| منهم - of them?| بل - Nay,| أكثرهم - most of them| لا - (do) not| يؤمنون - believe.| | ||||||
| 3 [19:78] | AttalaAAa alghayba ami ittakhathaAAinda alrrahmani AAahdan | أطلع الغيب أم اتخذ عند الرحمن عهدا أَطَّلَعَ الْغَيْبَ أَمِ اتَّخَذَ عِندَ الرَّحْمَنِ عَهْدًا | |||||
| Words | |أطلع - Has he looked| الغيب - (into) the unseen,| أم - or| اتخذ - has he taken| عند - from| الرحمن - the Most Gracious| عهدا - a promise?| | ||||||
| 4 [19:87] | La yamlikoona alshshafaAAatailla mani ittakhatha AAinda alrrahmaniAAahdan | لا يملكون الشفاعة إلا من اتخذ عند الرحمن عهدا لاَ يَمْلِكُونَ الشَّفَاعَةَ إِلاَّ مَنِ اتَّخَذَ عِندَ الرَّحْمَنِ عَهْدًا | |||||
