| 1 [2:231] | Wa-itha tallaqtumu alnnisaafabalaghna ajalahunna faamsikoohunna bimaAAroofin aw sarrihoohunnabimaAAroofin wala tumsikoohunna diraranlitaAAtadoo waman yafAAal thalika faqad thalamanafsahu wala tattakhithoo ayati Allahihuzuwan waothkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykumwama anzala AAalaykum mina alkitabi waalhikmatiyaAAithukum bihi waittaqoo Allaha waiAAlamooanna Allaha bikulli shay-in AAaleemun |  وإذا طلقتم النساء فبلغن أجلهن فأمسكوهن بمعروف أو سرحوهن بمعروف ولا تمسكوهن ضرارا لتعتدوا ومن يفعل ذلك فقد ظلم نفسه ولا تتخذوا آيات الله هزوا واذكروا نعمت الله عليكم وما أنزل عليكم من الكتاب والحكمة يعظكم به واتقوا الله واعلموا أن الله بكل شيء عليموَإِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَبَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَأَمْسِكُوهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ سَرِّحُوهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوفٍ وَلاَ تُمْسِكُوهُنَّ ضِرَارًا لَّتَعْتَدُواْ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ فَقَدْ ظَلَمَ نَفْسَهُ وَلاَ تَتَّخِذُواْ آيَاتِ اللّهِ هُزُوًا وَاذْكُرُواْ نِعْمَتَ اللّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَمَا أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِّنَ الْكِتَابِ وَالْحِكْمَةِ يَعِظُكُم بِهِ وَاتَّقُواْ اللّهَ وَاعْلَمُواْ أَنَّ اللّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| طلقتم - you divorce| النساء - the women| فبلغن - and they reach| أجلهن - their (waiting) term,| فأمسكوهن - then retain them| بمعروف - in a fair manner| أو - or| سرحوهن - release them| بمعروف - in a fair manner.| ولا - And (do) not| تمسكوهن - retain them| ضرارا - (to) hurt| لتعتدوا - so that you transgress.| ومن - And whoever| يفعل - does| ذلك - that,| فقد - then indeed,| ظلم - he wronged| نفسه - himself.| ولا - And (do) not| تتخذوا - take| آيات - (the) Verses| الله - (of) Allah| هزوا - (in) jest,| واذكروا - and remember| نعمت - (the) Favors| الله - (of) Allah| عليكم - upon you| وما - and what| أنزل - (is) revealed| عليكم - to you| من - of| الكتاب - the Book| والحكمة - and [the] wisdom;| يعظكم - He instructs you| به - with it.| واتقوا - And fear| الله - Allah| واعلموا - and know| أن - that| الله - Allah (is)| بكل - of every| شيء - thing| عليم - All-Knower.| | ||||||
| 2 [2:232] | Wa-itha tallaqtumu alnnisaafabalaghna ajalahunna fala taAAduloohunna an yankihnaazwajahunna itha taradaw baynahum bialmaAAroofithalika yooAAathu bihi man kanaminkum yu/minu biAllahi waalyawmi al-akhirithalikum azka lakum waatharu waAllahuyaAAlamu waantum la taAAlamoona | وإذا طلقتم النساء فبلغن أجلهن فلا تعضلوهن أن ينكحن أزواجهن إذا تراضوا بينهم بالمعروف ذلك يوعظ به من كان منكم يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر ذلكم أزكى لكم وأطهر والله يعلم وأنتم لا تعلمون وَإِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَبَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَلاَ تَعْضُلُوهُنَّ أَن يَنكِحْنَ أَزْوَاجَهُنَّ إِذَا تَرَاضَوْاْ بَيْنَهُم بِالْمَعْرُوفِ ذَلِكَ يُوعَظُ بِهِ مَن كَانَ مِنكُمْ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ ذَلِكُمْ أَزْكَى لَكُمْ وَأَطْهَرُ وَاللّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| طلقتم - you divorce| النساء - [the] women| فبلغن - and they reached| أجلهن - their (waiting) term,| فلا - then (do) not| تعضلوهن - hinder them| أن - [that]| ينكحن - (from) marrying| أزواجهن - their husbands| إذا - when| تراضوا - they agree| بينهم - between themselves| بالمعروف - in a fair manner.| ذلك - That| يوعظ - is admonished| به - with it| من - whoever| كان - [is]| منكم - among you| يؤمن - believes| بالله - in Allah| واليوم - and the Day| الآخر - [the] Last;| ذلكم - that| أزكى - (is) more virtuous| لكم - for you| وأطهر - and more purer.| والله - And Allah| يعلم - knows| وأنتم - and you| لا - (do) not| تعلمون - know.| | ||||||
| 3 [2:236] | La junaha AAalaykum in tallaqtumualnnisaa ma lam tamassoohunna aw tafridoolahunna fareedatan wamattiAAoohunna AAalaalmoosiAAi qadaruhu waAAala almuqtiri qadaruhu mataAAanbialmaAAroofi haqqan AAala almuhsineena | لا جناح عليكم إن طلقتم النساء ما لم تمسوهن أو تفرضوا لهن فريضة ومتعوهن على الموسع قدره وعلى المقتر قدره متاعا بالمعروف حقا على المحسنين لاَّ جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِن طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ مَا لَمْ تَمَسُّوهُنُّ أَوْ تَفْرِضُواْ لَهُنَّ فَرِيضَةً وَمَتِّعُوهُنَّ عَلَى الْمُوسِعِ قَدَرُهُ وَعَلَى الْمُقْتِرِ قَدَرُهُ مَتَاعًا بِالْمَعْرُوفِ حَقًّا عَلَى الْمُحْسِنِينَ | |||||
| Words | |لا - (There is) no| جناح - blame| عليكم - upon you| إن - if| طلقتم - you divorce| النساء - [the] women| ما - whom| لم - not| تمسوهن - you have touched| أو - nor| تفرضوا - you specified| لهن - for them| فريضة - an obligation (dower).| ومتعوهن - And make provision for them -| على - upon| الموسع - the wealthy| قدره - according to his means| وعلى - and upon| المقتر - the poor| قدره - according to his means -| متاعا - a provision| بالمعروف - in a fair manner,| حقا - a duty| على - upon| المحسنين - the good-doers.| | ||||||
| 4 [65:1] | Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu ithatallaqtumu alnnisaa fatalliqoohunnaliAAiddatihinna waahsoo alAAiddata waittaqoo Allaharabbakum la tukhrijoohunna min buyootihinna walayakhrujna illa an ya/teena bifahishatinmubayyinatin watilka hudoodu Allahi wamanyataAAadda hudooda Allahi faqad thalamanafsahu la tadree laAAalla Allaha yuhdithubaAAda thalika amran | يا أيها النبي إذا طلقتم النساء فطلقوهن لعدتهن وأحصوا العدة واتقوا الله ربكم لا تخرجوهن من بيوتهن ولا يخرجن إلا أن يأتين بفاحشة مبينة وتلك حدود الله ومن يتعد حدود الله فقد ظلم نفسه لا تدري لعل الله يحدث بعد ذلك أمرا يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ لِعِدَّتِهِنَّ وَأَحْصُوا الْعِدَّةَ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ لَا تُخْرِجُوهُنَّ مِن بُيُوتِهِنَّ وَلَا يَخْرُجْنَ إِلَّا أَن يَأْتِينَ بِفَاحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍ وَتِلْكَ حُدُودُ اللَّهِ وَمَن يَتَعَدَّ حُدُودَ اللَّهِ فَقَدْ ظَلَمَ نَفْسَهُ لَا تَدْرِي لَعَلَّ اللَّهَ يُحْدِثُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ أَمْرًا | |||||
| Words | |يا - O| أيها - O| النبي - Prophet!| إذا - When| طلقتم - you divorce| النساء - [the] women,| فطلقوهن - then divorce them| لعدتهن - for their waiting period,| وأحصوا - and keep count| العدة - (of) the waiting period,| واتقوا - and fear| الله - Allah,| ربكم - your Lord.| لا - (Do) not| تخرجوهن - expel them| من - from| بيوتهن - their houses,| ولا - and not| يخرجن - they should leave| إلا - except| أن - that| يأتين - they commit| بفاحشة - an immorality| مبينة - clear.| وتلك - And these| حدود - (are the) limits| الله - (of) Allah.| ومن - And whoever| يتعد - transgresses| حدود - (the) limits| الله - (of) Allah| فقد - then certainly| ظلم - he has wronged| نفسه - himself.| لا - Not| تدري - you know;| لعل - Perhaps| الله - Allah| يحدث - will bring about,| بعد - after| ذلك - that,| أمرا - a matter.| | ||||||
