| 1 [2:171] | Wamathalu allatheena kafarookamathali allathee yanAAiqu bima la yasmaAAuilla duAAaan wanidaan summun bukmunAAumyun fahum la yaAAqiloona |  ومثل الذين كفروا كمثل الذي ينعق بما لا يسمع إلا دعاء ونداء صم بكم عمي فهم لا يعقلونوَمَثَلُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ كَمَثَلِ الَّذِي يَنْعِقُ بِمَا لاَ يَسْمَعُ إِلاَّ دُعَاءً وَنِدَاءً صُمٌّ بُكْمٌ عُمْيٌ فَهُمْ لاَ يَعْقِلُونَ | |||||
| Words | |ومثل - And (the) example| الذين - (of) those who| كفروا - disbelieve[d]| كمثل - (is) like (the) example| الذي - (of) the one who| ينعق - shouts| بما - at what| لا - not| يسمع - (does) hear| إلا - except| دعاء - calls| ونداء - and cries -| صم - deaf| بكم - dumb,| عمي - (and) blind,| فهم - [so] they| لا - (do) not| يعقلون - understand.| | ||||||
| 2 [13:14] | Lahu daAAwatu alhaqqi waallatheenayadAAoona min doonihi la yastajeeboona lahum bishay-in illakabasiti kaffayhi ila alma-iliyablugha fahu wama huwa bibalighihi wamaduAAao alkafireena illa fee dalalin | له دعوة الحق والذين يدعون من دونه لا يستجيبون لهم بشيء إلا كباسط كفيه إلى الماء ليبلغ فاه وما هو ببالغه وما دعاء الكافرين إلا في ضلال لَهُ دَعْوَةُ الْحَقِّ وَالَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ لاَ يَسْتَجِيبُونَ لَهُم بِشَيْءٍ إِلاَّ كَبَاسِطِ كَفَّيْهِ إِلَى الْمَاءِ لِيَبْلُغَ فَاهُ وَمَا هُوَ بِبَالِغِهِ وَمَا دُعَاءُ الْكَافِرِينَ إِلاَّ فِي ضَلاَلٍ | |||||
| Words | |له - To Him| دعوة - (is) supplication| الحق - (of) the truth.| والذين - And those whom| يدعون - they invoke| من - besides Him| دونه - besides Him| لا - not| يستجيبون - they respond| لهم - to them| بشيء - with a thing| إلا - except| كباسط - like one who stretches| كفيه - his hands| إلى - towards| الماء - water| ليبلغ - to reach| فاه - his mouth,| وما - but not| هو - it| ببالغه - reaches it.| وما - And not| دعاء - (is) the supplication| الكافرين - (of) the disbelievers| إلا - but| في - in| ضلال - error.| | ||||||
| 3 [14:40] | Rabbi ijAAalnee muqeema alssalatiwamin thurriyyatee rabbana wtaqabbal duAAa/-i | رب اجعلني مقيم الصلاة ومن ذريتي ربنا وتقبل دعاء رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ الصَّلاَةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِي رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاءِ | |||||
| Words | |رب - My Lord!| اجعلني - Make me| مقيم - an establisher| الصلاة - (of) the prayer,| ومن - and from| ذريتي - my offsprings.| ربنا - Our Lord!| وتقبل - and accept| دعاء - my prayer.| | ||||||
| 4 [24:63] | La tajAAaloo duAAaa alrrasoolibaynakum kaduAAa-i baAAdikum baAAdan qadyaAAlamu Allahu allatheena yatasallaloona minkumliwathan falyahthari allatheena yukhalifoonaAAan amrihi an tuseebahum fitnatun aw yuseebahumAAathabun aleemun | لا تجعلوا دعاء الرسول بينكم كدعاء بعضكم بعضا قد يعلم الله الذين يتسللون منكم لواذا فليحذر الذين يخالفون عن أمره أن تصيبهم فتنة أو يصيبهم عذاب أليم لَا تَجْعَلُوا دُعَاءَ الرَّسُولِ بَيْنَكُمْ كَدُعَاءِ بَعْضِكُم بَعْضًا قَدْ يَعْلَمُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ يَتَسَلَّلُونَ مِنكُمْ لِوَاذًا فَلْيَحْذَرِ الَّذِينَ يُخَالِفُونَ عَنْ أَمْرِهِ أَن تُصِيبَهُمْ فِتْنَةٌ أَوْ يُصِيبَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ | |||||
| Words | |لا - (Do) not| تجعلوا - make| دعاء - (the) calling| الرسول - (of) the Messenger| بينكم - among you| كدعاء - as (the) call| بعضكم - (of) some of you| بعضا - (to) others.| قد - Verily,| يعلم - Allah knows| الله - Allah knows| الذين - those who| يتسللون - slip away| منكم - among you| لواذا - under shelter.| فليحذر - So let beware| الذين - those who| يخالفون - oppose| عن - [from]| أمره - his orders| أن - lest| تصيبهم - befalls them| فتنة - a trial| أو - or| يصيبهم - befalls them| عذاب - a punishment| أليم - painful.| | ||||||
| 5 [40:50] | Qaloo awa lam taku ta/teekumrusulukum bialbayyinati qaloo bala qaloofaodAAoo wama duAAao alkafireena illafee dalalin | قالوا أولم تك تأتيكم رسلكم بالبينات قالوا بلى قالوا فادعوا وما دعاء الكافرين إلا في ضلال قَالُوا أَوَلَمْ تَكُ تَأْتِيكُمْ رُسُلُكُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ قَالُوا بَلَى قَالُوا فَادْعُوا وَمَا دُعَاءُ الْكَافِرِينَ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ | |||||
| Words | |قالوا - They (will) say,| أولم - "Did there not| تك - "Did there not| تأتيكم - come to you| رسلكم - your Messengers| بالبينات - with clear proofs?"| قالوا - They (will) say,| بلى - "Yes."| قالوا - They (will) say,| فادعوا - "Then call,| وما - but not| دعاء - (is the) call| الكافرين - (of) the disbelievers| إلا - except| في - in| ضلال - error."| | ||||||
| 6 [41:49] | La yas-amu al-insanu min duAAa-ialkhayri wa-in massahu alshsharru fayaoosun qanootun | لا يسأم الإنسان من دعاء الخير وإن مسه الشر فيئوس قنوط لاَّ يَسْأَمُ الْإِنسَانُ مِن دُعَاءِ الْخَيْرِ وَإِن مَّسَّهُ الشَّرُّ فَيَؤُوسٌ قَنُوطٌ | |||||

| 7 [41:51] | Wa-itha anAAamna AAalaal-insani aAArada wanaa bijanibihiwa-itha massahu alshsharru fathoo duAAa-inAAareedin | وإذا أنعمنا على الإنسان أعرض ونأى بجانبه وإذا مسه الشر فذو دعاء عريض وَإِذَا أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَى الْإِنسَانِ أَعْرَضَ وَنَئَا بِجَانِبِهِ وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ فَذُو دُعَاءٍ عَرِيضٍ | |||||
| Words | |وإذا - And when| أنعمنا - We bestow favor| على - upon| الإنسان - man,| أعرض - he turns away -| ونأى - and distances himself;| بجانبه - and distances himself;| وإذا - but when| مسه - touches him| الشر - the evil,| فذو - then (he is) full| دعاء - (of) supplication| عريض - lengthy.| | ||||||
