| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[17:23] | Waqada rabbuka alla taAAbudooilla iyyahu wabialwalidayni ihsananimma yablughanna AAindaka alkibara ahaduhumaaw kilahuma fala taqul lahuma offinwala tanharhuma waqul lahuma qawlan kareeman
|  وقضى ربك ألا تعبدوا إلا إياه وبالوالدين إحسانا إما يبلغن عندك الكبر أحدهما أو كلاهما فلا تقل لهما أف ولا تنهرهما وقل لهما قولا كريما
وَقَضَى رَبُّكَ أَلاَّ تَعْبُدُواْ إِلاَّ إِيَّاهُ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا إِمَّا يَبْلُغَنَّ عِندَكَ الْكِبَرَ أَحَدُهُمَا أَوْ كِلاَهُمَا فَلاَ تَقُل لَّهُمَآ أُفٍّ وَلاَ تَنْهَرْهُمَا وَقُل لَّهُمَا قَوْلاً كَرِيمًا |
| Words | |وقضى - And has decreed| ربك - your Lord,| ألا - that (do) not| تعبدوا - worship| إلا - except| إياه - Him Alone| وبالوالدين - and to the parents| إحسانا - (be) good.| إما - Whether| يبلغن - reach| عندك - with you| الكبر - the old age| أحدهما - one of them,| أو - or| كلاهما - both of them,| فلا - then (do) not| تقل - say| لهما - to both of them| أف - a word of disrespect| ولا - and (do) not| تنهرهما - repel them,| وقل - but speak| لهما - to them| قولا - a word| كريما - noble.| |
